Not exactly the prompt for the day but lance does seem pretty defeated…
I have this really silly idea that when Zeus was like "You.. or your crew" ody was over here "Well me but can I take that one with me" and pointed at Eurylochus. Then Zeus agreed and they lived happily ever after on their own far off island (without Calypso)
Loved this idea so much I made a full colored version of this idea:
is THIS your champion?
even the biggest beasts need a little love and care when they've evolved (watch your head!)
The most "feminist" retelling of greek mythology possible would be to make echo the bad guy in the narcissus myth

THEM <3
Having an interest in Narcissus by accident and searching for any content besides the paintings and mentions of the "he fell in love with his reflection" part out of context left me so mad by how people INTENTIONALLY change details of the myth.
It's usually removing the context or some "small" details like with Conon's version. I saw posts that ignore the reason why Narcissus sent Ameinias a sword so Ameinias can be percieved only as a victim. In the myth he seems more like a freak who can't take "no" for an answer and when Narcissus has enough of him and sends him a sword to leave him alone already he curses him and actually kills himself in front of Narcissus' doorstep. Doesn't really seem like love y'know. Or that Narcissus was somehow wrong for rejecting him (💀) no matter what the myth says later. But people want to villainize Narcissus as much as possible for some reason so even the "non-canon" myth gets changed.
Often new details that weren't in the myths are added, which mostly happens with Ovid's version. Things like "Narcissus was arrogant and obsessed with his appearance" or "Narcissus humiliated Echo when they met". Like. No he wasn't and he didn't. Where did you even get that from.
Also people completely ignore the fact that Narcissus didn't even know who Echo was, only that she was stalking him and touching without his consent instead of "hi". I've seen plenty of posts saying things like "Echo fell in love with a man who was too self-absorbed to love someone except for himself". Uhmmmm... Can we please stop pretending that Narcissus is egocentric for rejecting this random nymph he have never met??? Narcissus didn't owe her (or anyone) his feelings or anything else.
