"People shouldn't be racist towards Lupita for the Helen casting" and "The most beautiful woman in a story about GREEK mythology should look greek" should be two things that exist at once (forgive me if this isn't unpopular? I would feel like it's common sense though I feel I often see people either being racist or disregarding the importance of Greek/Mediterranean people in Greek mythology, like no in between).
This should be common sense, yes. The in between I crave is the acknowledgment of the actual African characters or those of African decent as darker skinned.
