NEW BUFFY FANFIC STORY UPDATED
"Father" is a short story from the Tales of the Vampires comic book miniseries. Written by Jane Espenson and illustrated by Jason Alexander, it was originally published on February 11, 2004, by Dark Horse Comics.
Tales of the Vampires is a miniseries based off of the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer by Joss Whedon.
"A vampire sires Tom Mitchell, a widowed man and father of a young child, Cyrus. After his death, Tom continues to see his son, whom he sometimes takes out at night to the Santa Monica pier.
Tom is present throughout his son's life, until, in 1950, he kills Cyrus' mother-in-law when she tries to keep Tom away from his grandchild. Afterwards, Tom disappears for fifty years.
In 2000, Tom returns to his son, who is now an old man, and begins to take care of him again. Three years later, a Slayer stakes Tom before Cyrus's eyes. Attempting to console the elderly man, the Slayer asks if the vampire was his son."
This very short story intrigued me, and inspired me to write a Full length 3-novel series based off of my original character, Davina Grace Mitchell-Giles. Tom's other child. Born and exists in the same era as Buffy Summers and the Scooby-Gang.
Born on Halloween to vampire Tom Mitchell and human Daria Rossetti, Davina's existence defied the odds. Her father, a nomadic vampire, made occasional financial contributions but prioritized making peace with his now elderly, human son. This left Davina with Daria in LA, living well until Tom disappears.
As Daria descends back into addiction, they move to a motel located on the industrial fringe of LA. Davina reunites with her childhood friend, Buffy.
When Davina gets herself dragged to Hell, Buffy saves the day. This triggered the relocation to Sunnydale where Davina was supposed to be safest?
Davina navigates life after Tom, as the very first of her kind, along side Buffy and the gang with support of Buffy's watcher Rupert Giles, and anti-hero vampire, William "Spike" Pratt.
Can Davina navigate being a teenager, adapt to her vampiric nature, prevent Mayor Wilkins from ascending and ending the world, all while graduating on time with her class?
