I will not get over the original Blackwatch team, and no I don't mean the one with Genji and Moira.

For context, in Overwatch it was revealed that not only was Angela "Mercy" Zeigler the head of Overwatch's medical team, but also the head of Blackwatch's medical team up until Genji joined. Meaning it's likely she was a part of some of the Blackwatch missions as a team member.

So that makes the original Blackwatch team Reyes, Cassidy, Gerard and Angela. Which considering the fact that Gerard was at most three years older then Cassidy and Angela....

I want to know what their dynamic was like. Specifically Angela, Cassidy's and Gerard's, cause we already know what all of them were like with Reyes.

Like before everything started to go south? Did Cassidy and Angela know about Gerard and Amelie? Were they there when the two met? Did they make fun of Gerard's crush on Amelie? Did they try and give him dating advise?

Angela's a doctor and Gerard was a diplomat so I doubt either of them could shoot that well. Did Cassidy make fun of Angela and Gerard's shooting skills? Did he help them improve?

Did Gerard teach Cassidy diplomatic tricks in order to make sure there was at least one other person who could get info without pulling a gun? Did Gerard ever make fun of Cassidy and Angela's less then stellar love lives? Did he invite them to his wedding?

This group interests me so much because it's a look into the golden age we haven't seen, it's a look into the early days of Overwatch, an age not riddled with tragedy after tragedy.

I will remain adamant that the Cassidy longhorn skin isn't Cassidy's Mirrorwatch skin to the day I die. Like no, a mirrored Cassidy wouldn't be working on a farm, cause that's something Cassidy in our world would want. It's canonically what he was going to do with his cut in the Deadlock Rebels book. If he ever gets the chance to retire that's likely what he's going to do.

A mirrored Cassidy would more likely be a manipulative piece of shit in charge of Talon recruitment. He would be someone who would be fueled by revenge but have the charisma to hide it. While Angela would be the cold threatening presence in the room, Cassidy would be the wolf in sheep's clothing. He would be the reason why people turn to Talon, why people are loyal to Talon.

In reality Cassidy's longhorn skin is just one of those skins they put in the battle pass that has nothing to do with the theme.

By what I can tell of the Mirrorwatch thing there are some missed opportunities. I would have liked to see a Mirror Mauga and a Mirror Ashe for one. The only existing skin I actually have a mild complaint about is Mirror Doomfist. He should not be "Strike Commander Doomfist", he should be "Captain Ogundimu" working alongside "Strike Commander Reyes"!

Ahh you're so right with the Doomfist skin! To be honest, I'm quite sad that neither Reaper or Soldier got their respective skins... I think they are very important to the lore, so the fact that neither of them got a Mirrorwatch skin is devastating 💔. And the lack of Ashe this season.. ugu.. I wonder how would she turn out if her family situation was different...

This might be just me complaining, but I really don't like what they did with Echo. To make her "evil", I think they would have to go really back in "time" (lore-wise ofc) and do something about Aurora and Doctor Liao first! So Echo just having additional voicelines to her base legendary skin... Cute that they remember about old skins, but it's not really.. lore-accurate.. in my understanding T^T.

Otherwise, I'm okay with this season. Many missed opportunities, but as long as I get at least a scrap of any widowtracer content.. am.. ok... 🥲. Oh, and Venture is cute! 🤍
