24 Ways to Hint To Someone You Like Them
It seems that every generation has the same question. “How do I tell someone that I like them? Like, like them like them?” You’d think by now we’d have these normal human interactions down to a tee but nevertheless we still struggle with the age-old debate. Here are some helpful hints to show someone you like them without looking like an idiot or, even worse, a stalker.
1) Talk to them
First of all, if you like someone, talk to them! If you find the guy next to you on the bus cute, say hello! You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take and the game of flirting is no different. Take a chance by acknowledging their presence and you might be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.

But how will I ever forget the way your stare burned through my skin?

The way we broke apart was beautiful, we were torn edges that could never fit. We cut on to each others’ surfaces, made our marks, so that when we broke apart we still remembered. I still remember. Do you?

Last night I yearned for the river we once owned but each picture is blurry, each sketch is crude yet i think we ran gloriously along that stream for hours while your wounds started to heal and i felt each of your words purer than noise I remember the fires i built for us in the cold and i became a holy man just to bless your soul as we wove dreams on the banks of that river I have forgotten how you looked under the stars But I can never forgot the illumination of your beauty

I want to fight this, i want the waves to come crashing so they can pull me away, i want you to do something horrible so it will be easier to let you go, i want to fight what i’m feeling, i don’t want you to have the power to build me up and tear me down so easily, i don’t want to wish you would say something, i don’t want to wish you would care, i don’t want to want any of these things, but i do, and i really wish that i didn’t.

I’m trying to write more positive ‘notes to self’ during the day, and less suicide notes during the night. I think I’m scared that someday, someone might realize that they are not “just poems.” But then again maybe i’m scared that i’ll be the one making realizations. So note to self, you are growing, growing, growing, and it doesn’t really matter how small you feel from time to time, people care even if you struggle to accept it sometimes. Note to self, that the hardest thing you will ever have to do is probably learn to let go, leave the pieces as they are, walk away. I know you always laugh at people who try to convince you that things always happen for a reason- they don’t, but spending your life trying to pick up pieces of things and people that never were, have been, or will be doesn’t serve you any good either. The days are mostly sunny and warm where you live but there are dark days, even on those try and remember the feeling of warmth on your skin, it won’t be long, it won’t be long until you feel it again. This particular note, you must write on colorful post-its and stick them everywhere, write with capital letters that numbers on a scale are nothing but abstract concepts, shoved into your consciousness by society, be gentle with yourself they mean nothing. Underline it twice. And please, never love less, never love less, the world is strange and dark as much as it is beautiful, and often so are the people, don’t let any of it make you hard, and cruel, and uncaring.

Perhaps one day I will escape this endless cycle of loving and hating myself. To be free from my prideful narcissism and indulgent self-loathing. For they are deeply intertwined, the two vices; they stem from the fear of others’ perceptions, the focusing on your own imperfections, and finally culminate in the utter poisoning of your character.

How to get over hurt and pain
1. Acknowledge that you feel as awful as you do (as it’s crucial that we validate our negative emotions.) 2. Identify the source (which may not be obvious). 3. Practice self compassion, and be gentle with yourself. 4. Identify the thoughts that are making the pain worse (like “I’ll never get over this”; or “I’m totally worthless.”) 4. Work on challenging your thinking so it’s more accurate. 5. Work on coming to terms with your new reality (for example, if you’ve failed an exam or a relationship has ended). 6. Try to find something meaningful (perhaps a lesson you can learn). 7. Remember that tomorrow is a brand new day.
