Thinking about how Nikki and Sam both had dreams and goals whereas Dean and Bear never really had a plan for themselves beyond holding on to their respective "loves" and going through the motions.
And in the end both Nikki and Sam were forced to give uo their own wants to be with Dean/Bear
you’re going to look at this gif and tell me sam ISNT a bottom? he has such a perfect arch, the cutest little look back, and the most submissive puppy eyes like are you kidding me??
Why not go back and psychotically go over my favorite scenes in every episode? (with gifs!) Part 3 of me losing a lot of time looking for wincest in every single episode while reacting in real time to it.
This is not an intelligent review, it's not theory crafting, or any sort of meaningful critique. This is just me being enthusiastic about scenes I like and me having fun making gifs!
Overall
I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! It was mostly the plot line, I found it interesting, fun, and it kept me invested throughout the whole story. The secondary characters were memorable, too. When it comes to the brothers, seeing the clash between Dean's and Sam's moral compasses was compelling. Dean tries to save those that he relates to, he feels better about himself by doing it. Sam wants to find John, he wants to revenge Jess, he's just helping because his brother insists, he's okay with giving up on it when it gets difficult. He certainly feels better when he helps everyone, but he would've been okay moving on, too.
The scenes:
Sam scaring off the sexy waiter away fuels the idea of lil bro Sammy pushing Dean's love interests away when they were younger (he has experience, basically.)
The stare of doom (I'd be repeating myself if I said he pouts and huffs until Dean agrees.)
Making the wife behave!!!
Girl you've been rolling your eyes off since episode 1...
Me too girl, me too.
uhhh 1. Sammy 2. Lil Sam 3. My little brother
Fuckkk
On their boy computer reading questionable stuff.
Does he ever stop.
On a more serious note, I thought Sam's reaction to Dean talking about the effect their mother's passing had on him was pretty interesting. It was like (and then confirmed) they just had never talked about it before. Like damn!! They've lived together since always and have done everything because of her death, and they've NEVER talked about their emotions about it. Clearly John taught them to act rather than to talk.
There's only some hair ruffling missing.
Nobody said anything about hugging, Dean... We know what you're thinking (saw his brother's cute face and had a cuteness overload. )
I just had to add DEAN LOOKING SO 🥺!!
Sam being surprised about Dean caring about children is pretty telling, lol.
I just thought Sam looked cute, that's all.
Okay, that's all!! Sorry if this one is shorter than the others, I just enjoyed the plot itself more rather than any gencest stuff for this one, so there's not much to comment. I had fun making this (again)!! It's also a good way for me to remember everything given this show is so long, I want to enjoy it slowly. I'm making this mostly for myself.
"Deans the obsessive one!" "Sam's normal! Hes not obsessive!"
Dean is the outward, dramatic, obsessive type. Sam leaves, tries to be his own person, or god forbid someone else tries to get close to him. Dean will complain about it, he'll talk about it. He might get violent about it and honestly that man in two bad days away from threatening to kill himself over it.
Sam is the quiet obsessive type. Its not that its not obvious or noticeable, but he's not claiming Dean directly. Hes being cold, he's taking notes. Hes that creepy guy staring down Dean's date till she leaves. He's keeping score. He's jealous and bitchy but its not quite obvious to a stranger that its cause he wants his brother like that. And if Dean leaves? Hes scrabbling to follow.
I normally don’t reply to hate and just ignore it, but since you brought it up:
It’s literally canon that the dynamic gets more intense and unhealthy. Dean says ‘I call the shots, it’s gonna be my way,’ he hits Sam repeatedly, manipulates him, and controls situations.
Viewing the wincest dynamic through that trad het/power-imbalance lens doesn’t make anyone ‘braindead.’ It’s just acknowledging what’s on screen instead of sanitizing it.
Deadass how it feels to talk to antis because they REFUSE to admit Sam and Dean are weird. I'm not saying you HAVE to ship wincest, I'm saying it's WEIRD Dean's siren was SAM. HOW are you only taking away from that Dean's siren was a man -----> making Dean bi----> tying that to Cas<-----ignoring the fact it all goes back to desiring Sam. Or the reminder us wincesties constantly get about the fact they're brothers. NO. NO? BROTHERS? HOLY SHIT REALLY😓😓😓 ew omg I'll never ship them again for you!! Yes you!! Special the-world-revolves-around-you! AND don't EVEN get me started on destiel shippers who think Dean would choose Cas over anyone, even Sam. ☠☠ Dean would trade Cas for a six pack of beers on a good day, and on his bad ones? He's kicking Cas out the damn bunker because he's a human. Y'all got me CTFU. Someone said once in a comment section that Zachariah's whole speech on Sam and Dean and the word erotic was erratic. Right... what an erratic thought about such an erotic relationship between two brothers who agree "THERE AIN'T NO ME IF THERE AIN'T NO YOU!!" Oh, and don't forget 15×20, what a time to be alive.
what people don't get is that sam DOES have a moral compass which makes it all the more terrifying when he defies it for dean, like what's worse than someone who isn't aware of whats just is someone who is completely aware and yet can still commit unspeakable acts for the sake of their brother. I mean how FUCKED UP do you have to be to have SATAN call you out?? - "you'd do anything to save Dean, and he'd do anything for you, and that's the problem because civilians' lives are in danger"
