Imagine:

You get invited to the annual Mikaelson ball and while you’re there, you meet a mysterious man named Michael Mikaelson. Michael is the oldest and most powerful Mikaelson sibling who typically stays out of the spotlight but never is forgotten as his presence is unforgettable. He takes an interest in you, which he never does as he thinks, “love is a waste of time” but you are different. You didn’t want to get involved in more “drama” by continuing to stay in Mystic Falls but fate, had other plans. By you going to the Mikaelson ball, it is a turning point in the plot that shapes the rest of history.
