Alright boys and girls and whatever you feel comfortable identifying as, this is someone I used to know from when I went to church. Now, I am not black and I do not know what it is like to be a black person in America, however I have some questions. This is white male who has dreadlocks and decided to use the white power emoji to describe his picture. Now this could be just plain ignorance, but it saddens me to think it is because he seems like a smart guy but I feel like he's appropriating black culture as his own due to (to my knowledge) a recent change in his hobbies such as smoking weed and thinks this is the "appropriate" attire for his newfound exploration Of his life. Seems like he's pulling a Miley Cyrus to me but let me know what you think. Is this appropriate? Offensive? Ignorant? Or shouldn't be a thing to be trifled with?
