(I know this is probably not that serious but I still want to answer this)
I’m going to post this under a readmore, and if anyone wants to argue some of the points I made, please do.
Where are the angels? Like, where do they exist?
- first of all, each religion has their own idea on how many heavens there are. Since this ask only asks about the catholic view i’ll answer it as such.
- There is one heaven, though it could be argued that there could be as many as 4, those would be:
1. God’s throne
2. Heaven for people that died and very judged as “good”
3. The garden of Eden.
4. Purgatory (this one with Eden is a grey zone in my opinion)
- The angels would then be everywhere, since they would have different jobs.
- Some would guard God’s throne and function as God’s mesengers.
What do they look like? Are we even supposed to look at em?
- Easy answer: yes, but would you even want to?
- Long answer: There are 9 kinds of angels divided into 3 spheres. The lower the sphere the more humanoid in apperence the angel is. (With archangels and angels in the 3rd sphere looking like normal humans, and the Seraphim in the 1st sphere being 6 winged burning beings)
Do they have telepathic powers or do they just speak all languages when they communicate?
- I would answer with both, since angels could combine those two.
Do they identify with their names?
- This one is hard to answer, but I would say yes.
Do they think at all or is that part of the no free will thing?
- I’d say that they mostly perfom task ordered by God without most thought.
- However, if they are without thought, how come two-thirds of them decided to rebel?
What do they make of humans who’re named after them? If they can think and all that.
- I would they would be mostly indifferent, but to be honest I don’t know the answer to this.
Again if they can think, what’s their relationship to other angels?
- This is a though one, but I’d say that they would view eachother as something made by a common hand but still much different. So like half-siblings or something like that.
What’s up with all those eyes?
- The more eyes, the more they can see and admire the world.
Are they ok?
- Describe ok.
. . . Hypothetically, could I pet them?
- A man survived a fist fight with an angel, if you’re stubborn enough you can survive petting one. (Before you do please call me, I want to see that)
Gabriel is the worst trumpet player. That’s why the angels will do everything in their power so the apocalypse wouldn’t come. They don’t want to hear them playing.
