The second in my angel-kami syncretism series, crossing Inari/稲荷 with my version of the Archangel Raphael/ラファエル
didn't feel like drawing lately
“…so uh…Army is missing?”
*M just pops into existence, Lavina behind him and fiddling with her cane. She’s got a shopping bag on one arm. Both look concerned.*

Happy Michaelmas !!
Clockwise:
1. Michael, who is like God
2. Metatron, prince of the veil
3. Raphael, the healer
4. Samyaza, who sees the name
5. Azazel, leader of the watchers
6. Sathriel, moon of God
7. Uriel, light of God
8. Gabriel, the messenger
And, the Exiles Outside the Halo.
Regarding the new art of the rest of the Archangels in Heaven, I really do appreciate that they went with the decision to make the angels have diverse looking designs. Pre-Fraud, it seemed like Gabriel’s appearance was the standard of how most angels looked like, and it was only reinforced further by how the Virtues seemed to share the same color scheme as him (i.e. blue highlights with golden trimming). This is still somewhat true as shown by the Powers, but that’s mostly because they idolize Gabriel (another way that Heaven’s society is shown as hypocritical).
The different wing colors and humanoid body types as shown by Micheal, Raphael, and Phanuel makes me really happy to see that angels aren’t locked to a certain design, and it all just depends on what rank of the Order you are. I hope that this encourages more Ultrakill fan artists to take more liberties with their angel designs! I know Micheal was originally Francis’s OC, so I hope they were able to add some creative input on how they interpreted angels looking like in Heaven.
Also, it seems like showing your midriff is a common fashion choice in Heaven, and Gabriel is TOTALLY NOT a gay little slut who has it out for no reason.
