@angelharket
I haven't heard from you in a while, are you alright?
Oh, this warmed my heart. I’m alive and well, just haven’t felt like posting lately. I still listen to a-ha with great pleasure, but at one point I started feeling like I was putting them (especially Morten) on a pedestal, which didn’t feel right because they’re really all just normal people with (somewhat) normal lives, just like you and me. I can’t read the future of this blog, but if you want to keep in touch just send me a message! x
I don’t consider a-ha a “one-hit wonder”; in fact, I think the reason they never “lasted” is because they were too advanced for the mob.
Each of the members are very talented in their own way; Morten with his unique and excellent singing, Magne with his skilled keyboard playing and Pål with his deep and breathtaking songwriting. If you really have a listen to their other songs and study the structure of it, they are actually top class.
Heed my words, they really are so much more than just Take on Me. Sadly, most people will never dive deeper than in what’s currently topping the lists.
To live in the present. . .
used to be nothing but a bunch of words to me, but now I think I’m beginning to realise what that actually entails.
I really need to learn to just sit back, listen, learn and think for a while. It would do me wonders.
There are so many people I'd just like to sit down and talk with about anything, because we appear alike on so many levels. Unfortunately, none of them seem to have the time or the patience, they just rush by and continue life as if that were the only way it should be lived.
Every time I tell someone about my favorite band
Person: What's your favorite band?
Me: a-ha!
Person: Who are they?
Me: You know, the guys who made the song "Take on Me".
Person: a-haaa… those guys!
Person: LOL, I said a-ha! How hilarious!
Konsert fra 1991. Etter utgivelsen av albumet "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" inviterte NRK A-ha til å spille live i studio på Marienlyst. Resultatet ble en intim konsert med tett samspill mellom A-ha og deres norske musikere. Vi får høre sanger fra deres nyeste album i tillegg til hits fra tidligere i karrieren. Mellom låtene leser Lars Saabye Christensen egne tekster.
I don’t know if you’re able to see this, it’s from the archive of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, in that case just work your way around with VPN :)
This intimate concert was held at Marienlyst in 1991, accompanied by Norwegian author Lars Saabye Christensen reading his own texts between the songs. Listening to live concerts rather than albums can be so much more interesting, because on stage the boys let themselves free and dare to experiment more. I’ve always been fascinated by a-ha in that sense, and their genuine love for music really shines through when you see them like this.
Always wishing for the things you can’t have
