Scorose Fanfiction Recommendations
1. weasleykingrocks: 1st, 2nd and third - They are all one shots but they follow each other up. It is a quick glance over how Rose and Scorpius got together, their future plans and their feelings for each other. It examines Rose’s family dynamic, which I love very much. The dialogue is entertaining and witty. The feelings and emotions of the characters are conveyed so well and it is easy to connect with them. Plus, it has a Romione fluff as well!!!
2. How to Beat Scorpius Malfoy at Quidditch - While this concentrates on Rose and Scorpius, it is a fan fiction based entirely on a Quidditch game! I am biased since I love fan fictions where Rose is a Chaser and Scorpius is a Keeper. It is funny, lighthearted and it is very sweet and fluffy. Bonus: the whole Weasley-Potter kids are present in the fan fiction.
3. One of the Boys - I personally don’t like fan fictions where the main character is ‘not like other girls.’ But I’m willing to forgive it in here. What I love about this fan fiction is that the dialogue is very entertaining and that the four friends love to have fun. They constantly throw jokes, they tease each other and they are likeable. Rose is definitely a ‘cool girl’ but she is funny and definitely has a presence. The way Rose and Scorpius develop a relationship is cute as well.
4. The Cycle - This is about Rose being stuck in an abusive relationship with someone and Scorpius’ need to protect her. It is low-key melodramatic. However, I love Scorpius’ characterisation and it is what I imagine him to be in my head. His care for Rose is incredibly cute and it is entertaining. While I would have loved for Rose to handle the situation by kicking the guy’s ass, it is very sweet.
5. Unsure and Uneasy and Solitary Confinement - Well….if you are underage….no need to say more. I put them together because it is from the same author. The first one is about Scorpius’ unexpected visit to Turkey and Rose is in jail for the second one. 10/10
6. 24 Reasons Scorpius Loves Rose - this literally does not have a storyline. It is just about Scorpius’ infatuation with Rose. However, it held my interest as it gives you a picture on Rose’s characterisation. While she may appear like a Mary Sue, keep in mind that he’s listing everything he loves about her and he purposefully excludes her flaws. I personally liked it.
7. Malfoy’s Got It Going - The only flaw is that the author hasn’t updated the story. In simple summary, Rose turns up to Scorpius’ apartment and reveals unexpected news. It is absolutely gripping and has you on the edge of your seat. It takes place over their 20s and their strong love for each other. It is emotional, funny, witty, romantic and angering. Bonus? Ron and Draco’s hilarious rivalry. This may be my favourite.
8. Before Malfoy Had It Going - The prequel of Malfoy’s Got It Going. It focuses on Rose and Scorpius’ “friendship” and how they are confused. It is definitely frustrating but it is entertaining and you will be flying through the chapters. It takes place over Hogwarts and how they date other people. Well written, great characters and awesome character dynamics.
9. Budge Over - It is a one shot fan fiction. What is it about? Rose breaks up with her boyfriend and stays with Scorpius one night. I like a lot of Scorose stories from this author. This one is one of my favourites since Rose and Scorpius seem genuine and their friendship is fleshed out. It is a very cute fan fiction and they both have great chemistry.
10. Kiss, Kiss - It takes place over the pair’s seven years at Hogwarts! It is based on a kiss they share every year. And it is the cutest fan fiction out of every single one in the list. FLUFF FLUFF FLUFF
