there’s comfort in the grasses and trees. nothing is ever as good on the heart as the way the winds and flowers are. every day the dirt is calling, this is home. this is home. this is home. don’t be afraid to get dirty.

Today i learned that my 'rescue' cactus produces edible fruit and leaves, I'm so excited to be able to eat the fruit from something I saved from being destroyed, planted, grew in my own soil, and loved. 🌵🌵💙💚

Reading up on sea witch spells and seeing people suggest putting offerings in bottles and letting the sea carry then away.
This upsets me.
It’s littering. Please leave your offerings on something that’s not harmful to the environment. A sea shell, rock or even just on the beach. Please don’t use anything that could cause harm to the ocean or its inhabitants. Thank you!
Not to hijack, but all offerings in natural spaces should be planned to be safe for the environment it’s going into. This is why I’m partial to offerings of water or other consumable fluids–if it’s safe to go in my belly, it’s probably safe to pour over some plants.
Yes. Stop telling people to bury things in jars, particularly . Bury things in (unbleached) paper towels, or the insides of bell peppers. And don’t bury things that won’t degrade. There are so many ways to do witchcraft that doesn’t involve burying things that won’t decompose!! If you can, opt to recycle the item, or better yet, just change out all your spell ingredients for stuff that is eco-friendly and able to rot if buried. Srsly.
THANK YOU!
to add: making bowls or balls of ice to bury or to be carried awayby the sea. Use unbleached paper towels or banana peels(if it’s safe) to write your spell on, etc. There are many safe ways to do magic without littering.
You can also use cabbage leaves and cotton kitchen string in place of a jar, or write your spell on a piece of un-coated (like not metallic, etc.) paper and fold it into an origami creature because the paper will degrade
Eco friendly witchery tips. :)

When you’re alone in the forest, you are never alone…
other girls: respectable hut at the edge of the village, uncursing wells, turning into a black cat to steal into a tyrant’s bedchambers and assassinate him in his sleep
me: no familiar, crushing my herbs with a rock i picked up outside, trying to make casual conversation with crows but they keep predicting my death instead
concept: in fifty years i’m an old witch and i tend to my garden all morning and cook fresh vegetables for lunch and watch the sea all afternoon with an old cat named bertha
I applied for a new job on the full moon, had my interview during the geminid meteor shower, and got my call back and offer on the solstice. 🌝🌠🌠🌞

* Will be updated with more info soon, just wanted to get it up here for you guys*
I am not the child of the witch you couldn’t burn. I am that witch, back from the grave all anger and fire and ashes. Fear me.
There is a large lizard that lives on my well pump, and today he let me touch him 💜💙💜💙
How come reading tea leaves is seen as this sophisticated, witchy thing but if I slam dunk an open can of Chef Boyardee ravioli onto the pavement in the gas station parking lot to see what kind of soda the old ones think I should buy, foodstuff divination suddenly isn’t cool anymore?
‘Tis the fuckin’ season, friends!! Get out there and live your worst life!!
What the fuck is happening
Why don’t you grab a can of ravioli and ask!
Scry in a filthy puddle at the 7/11 today! Read your future in an ashtray! Salt’s a crystal and they got it at walmart - you’re in luck motherfucker we’re charging some shit, don’t forget the discount scented candles and a tub of nightcrawlers from the sporting section.
Who the fuck can afford a rose quartz mortar and pestle, come be a trash witch with me I’ve got a broken chunk of concrete and the driveshaft of an old jeep.
Advice from an hereditary witch’s grandmother: things a crone has to say
My witch of a grandmother gave me her beautiful encyclopedia on healing plants to celebrate Ostara! I told her about my blog and she asked me to share some of her advice “for those lovely internet disciples of yours”. No, Yeyé, that’s not how this works…
But hey! When the crone talks, you listen!
“A jar of glass keeps away envious spirits and people who want to hurt you.”
“Everything dead deserves to be honored.”
“Strings of seeds bring prosperity.”
“A stone in the windowsill is a soldier that keeps away thieves, but make sure it’s not a pretty rock cause they might steal it!”
“When you trim a vine, keep some branches by the door so all the hard work you’ve done doesn’t disappear in a single day!”
“When you’re old and can’t move so much anymore, keep a jar of seeds by the Gods so they can pick their offerings as they please.”
“I keep lavender by the computer because it helps me remember how to open Facebook. Lavender is good for memory. Tell your friends of the internet.”
“I keep the obsidian and the agathe geodes in front of the TV so there will be no bad news.”
So there you have it.
Advice from an authentic crone with over 70 years of Craft , Old Yeyé.
She wishes you all many blessings and love and hopes you are all well guided.
Happy new season from lucky Old Yeyé!
-Semiramis the Magpie Witchling
Thank you, Yeyé!!!
She is adorable and wonderful.
The Irish don’t mess around when it comes to the business of healing.
Here's to the busy witches
The witches who listen to nature sounds while studying for their finals
The witches who change into their uniforms in the minutes between class and work, muttering enchantments for good luck
The witches who feel guilty for putting their lives before their craft (they shouldn’t feel guilty)
The witches with a thousand things in their drafts, waiting for that rare evening when they have enough time write a post on tarot readings
The witches who forget to water their plants
Or don’t have time to cook
Here’s to the busy witches. You’re beautiful and I love you 💚💚
celtic mythology ⇸ the morrigan
The Morrigan (also known as the Morrigu) was the shape-shifting Celtic Goddess of War, Fate and Death. She also presided over rivers, lakes and fresh water, in addition to being the patroness of revenge, night, magic, prophecy, priestesses and witches.

Regarding Islam and other Gods: you CANNOT be Muslim and worship other gods. To be Muslim means to submit to Allah. If you are Muslim you believe Allah's word is in the Qu'ran. It's not like the bible of stories. It's the literal world of god in which he tells yoh what's ok and what's not. And the number one rule in Islam is that it is only Allah. It's not "a personal thing between you and God." God already gave you the guidelines for his worship. I had to spell it out once more lol.
& thats exactly what I thought but since I am not religious, I wasn’t sure. Thanks for chiming in @biwitched! <3
@biwitched In response to your comment about calling it stories bc the multiple author's.... It's regarded as physically authored by many, but through "God's" divine influence. As in, he dictated, they took it down. So different from the Quran, but not completely so. And also, big ass primary rule, only God, no one else. The reason it's seen as sort of a murky, pick and choose thing is 100% bc ppl are just "culturally Christian" rather than actually Christian. As in, "everyone in my family is 'Christian' and I've heard the basic stories but we all only go to church 2xs a yr and I'm not actually sure I even own a Bible, certainly never read one! I heard that it says 'hate the sin but love the sinner' and that *insert marginalized group here* go to hell!" (Pro tip, it doesn't) VS "I read my Bible, pray, contemplate the teachings of Jesus and his apostles, have chosen my church with care and grow in Christ with their support, and recognize that we are all imperfect, sinners, equally, and that salvation comes only through Jesus' love"
I left that religion behind years ago, but I know it well. 7 years of private Christian schools, 12 years of church no less than 2xs a week, several Bible based summer programs every year, youth group, and a scouting style program through the church for 3 years. I don't care if you like or approve of Christianity, but it matters to me that people have their facts straight (just as it matters to you that they have their facts straight about Islam. You handled your responses perfectly gracefully, imo.).
