today i have accidentally set the stovetop on fire, put it out before the department came, had to file an incident report, AND made them have to go around and check every single apartment fire alarm because some didn't go off apparently.

this was before noon (minus the fire alarm check which is going on now)

being back at auradon academy is bitter - sweet,    but grace knew she had to go back.     she couldn’t run away from her troubles any longer   ;   not that she broadcasted when something was bothering her.    truthfully,   the number of people who had seen any signs of distress could be counted on a single hand   -  if that.    the escape made her feel a bit better.     it helped to be around her mom instead of her dad,   too.     and now that she was back,    grace couldn’t help but feel as though she had been missing something her entire time away.   no   -   not something.    someone.   

she sees him when she’s perched by her cousins,    suddenly disinterested in the conversation droning around her.  before she knows it,     her feet plant themselves firmly the ground and wander toward him,    anticipation feeling her chest with a giddiness only he could cause.       she’s not seen him for a while   -   other than the shameless instagram stalking  ( where she would gift him with a like on her photos,     hoping he didn’t notice that she had done it for each one he shared. )

when she reaches him,    her lips turn into a smile   ;   small and sweet at first before it grows radiant.    there is a warmth encased in the gaze that travels to his face,    uncharacteristic for her.    maybe she’d regret the vulnerable show of emotion later,     but for now?    she bumps her arm against his casually,    as if she didn’t always try to both physically and mentally distance herself every day.    “didn’t miss me too much while i was gone,    did you?”   is her joking question of greeting.    really,    grace had missed him more than she had known until she spotted him.

ABILITIES/POWERS    she has muscular arms thanks to her work in the mines,   long hours of chipping away at the rocky walls that surround the hand-crafted tunnels of her father and uncles.    she has no special strengths or physical attributes. RESTRICTIONS     muscle in her arms are one thing,    but grace lacks them in her legs  ;  merely toned from her treks to and from places.     she doesn’t enjoy running  -  or any cardio activities.    she finds it pointless unless you’re going to do something with the skill and she most certainly wouldn’t,    so she stays away from those.
