pathologic 2 has robbed us of the fanon consensus of weird oldie scifi the capital. like yeah historical fictoon is need and theres a lot in early 20th century russia that we can take a look at. but did yall see what the shit patho classic was setting up timezone and setting wise?? it was so cool and trippy and it was a fucked up frankenstein of a bunch of different shit. i wanna see what the fuck the capital looks like with that mindset. i wanna see the fucked up steampunk world that looks like a big edgy catholic church that produced whatever the fuck that snakeskin coat is. im shaking everyone ever by the shoulders. what about my messed up mystical weird scifi predictions of what the future might be? why cant the capital be like that??

#omg sooo true #something was lost in translation from the artistic decisions and direction of Classic that I dearly miss #like yeaaah it was highly influenced by the aestethics of the early 2000s #and obviously my nostalgia for games like Syberia plays a huge role in my preference #but with both the muddied color scheme where previously there were greens and oranges and sickly yellow skies #and a stronger sense of spaces and believable interiors that removed the otherwordlyness of the Bound houses in Classic #(the realistic photobashed textures and the reused assets and the vibrant colors in things like leaves)#I cant’t help but feel like we traded something cool with other aspects like major emotional involvement in Artemy’s journey #wich is #like #fine #yet when I see the Capital as Quarantine showed us I can’t help but feel a sense of loss #now the question is why did I feel the need to put this all in the tags instead of making an actual comment.#my brain is vast and works in misterious ways Iguess
