A Cry from the Rubble: A Family Torn Apart by War
Hello, my name is Ghada, I am 32 years old, and I once lived a life full of hope and ambition.
My father, Nabil, who is 62 years old, used to own an aluminum workshop, but it was destroyed during the war. My mother, Fatima, 57 years old, faces daily struggles with the lack of electricity and the closure of bakeries. At their age, my parents suffer greatly from the constant displacement and the challenges of moving from place to place.
I studied Information Technology and earned my bachelor's degree, working for a private company for some time. But when the war in Gaza erupted, the company stopped operating and was completely destroyed, leaving me without a job and no place to work
•
As the bombing intensified and the violence escalated, we were forced to flee our beautiful home, which was completely destroyed, to the city of Rafah in southern Gaza. We lived in a small tent barely a few meters wide, but even that was not enough. We were forced to flee again to central Gaza, where we now live in a school for displaced people, moving from one place to another without knowing when this tragic journey will end
My younger brother, Khaled, 23 years old, graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting and worked at a contracting company before the war took away his job and shattered his dreams. Despite this, Khaled now bears the responsibility of providing for our basic needs like food and water, trying to keep our family afloat under these harsh conditions.
I also have two married brothers, Mohamed and Ahed, who live with us in the same displacement location with their children (Lama, Nabil, and Amir) and (Fatima, Eman, and Noor). The children, having lost their toys and games, have found some joy playing with the pets, trying to find happiness in the darkest of times.
But the bitter reality is that we are living in an uninhabitable environment. Diseases and insects are widespread, and sewage water floods the area around us. The children, who should be focused on learning and playing, now suffer from malnutrition and disease.
Recently, the spread of the polio virus among them has only added to their pain and suffering.
Life here no longer meets basic human dignity.
We live without clean water, without a home, without even the basics of survival. Our children have no education, no toys, no new clothes, not even shoes to protect their feet.
Skin diseases, malnutrition, and polluted water and food are our daily reality. We are living in inhumane conditions in every sense of the word, and we beg you not to forget us.

"We are now in the first day after the end of the war and we feel a mixture of joy and sadness because we are still alive but we have lost a lot. Our house was completely destroyed and we live entirely on the donations that you send us here. At first, when we created the donation campaign and set our goal of 55,000 euros, our goal was to rebuild our house and stand on our feet and pay off all the money we borrowed during the war period, but unfortunately all we have collected is 2,000 euros and we have spent it all, so please donate to us because now we have no other choice but you, so please stand by us, please donate to us as much as you can."
These are words from https://www.tumblr.com/haneqazzaz who have reached out to me.
Please visit their account and share their posts, campaign and story. Please, most importantly, DONATE!!!
Donations are needed and crucial. They are greatly appreciated and go such a long way, even the smallest bit of help can be life changing. Please show your humanity by helping those in need. Thank you.
Read it once in your life, and never regret it. ✋✅
Do you feel bored of the posts asking for help from Gaza? You’re right, but imagine our situation as we live this war day after day for 13 months. Do you think we’re tired too?!!
Asking for help is not easy; it’s very embarrassing, especially for a family that used to live a decent life. My husband and I completed our university education with distinction, worked in respectable jobs, and were used to helping others, not asking for help. But the war has turned our lives into a nightmare; we lost our home, our sources of income, and even our ability to provide the simplest of needs.
I'm Hanan. For the past 13 months, we have been struggling to get healthy food and medicine for my child, whose weak body was attacked by infection, and for my elderly mother-in-law, who fell into a coma for several days and almost lost her life due to anemia caused by our inability to provide healthy food, as prices have risen more than 10 times. Now, we have run out of everything. While you are reading my message, my family and I are trying to survive amidst all kinds of suffering.
What was once a beautiful dream and reality has now become a nightmare. Starvation is one thing, but starving, freezing, and being forced to flee in the middle of the night when tanks suddenly arrive in your area, running for your life and your family’s life under fire, leaving behind everything you built over the years, and returning after 5 months of suffering in displacement and tents to find that your home, where you lived your happiest moments, is nothing but rubble, is something completely different! 💔😓
Can you feel my broken heart now? Can you imagine what I’m going through at this moment? Everything I am living now cannot be described with words, and every moment here is filled with pain and fear. We desperately need your help, as we live in hope of escaping Gaza to save our lives and live safely away from the explosions.
You might feel powerless to stop this genocide, but you can certainly save my family. We appeal to your compassionate hearts to help us escape this catastrophe, which the human mind cannot even fathom.
Please share our campaign with your family and friends. This will help us reach those who can help us directly. Be the reason to bring hope back to our hearts ♥️✨

Dear Friends, 🌷
I know you share my story out of love and humanity, and I am truly grateful for that. 🙏💚
The painful truth is sharing alone does not feed the hungry or provide medicine for the sick.💔
Cost of a bag of flour is $300 which is the main source of food for my family and is needed weekly just to make bread. We live in a tent my child trembles from hunger and cold, and all I can do is pray. 😥
Please, don’t just watch or share. Even a small donation could be a lifeline for a hungry child or a suffering patient. 🙏
Don’t close your eyes to our suffering. We are calling upon your humanity.
The last donation 20 hours ago!! 😓
Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to buy some essential necessities that we couldn't do without, despite their high cost. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to feeding my child, even with a piece of bread 🙏💚. Your generosity gives us hope in facing these indescribable catastrophic circumstances 💔.
Our hope for survival comes from the generosity of your hearts. Your donations are the lifeline that keeps my family standing strong, They are our only source of income. Every contribution brings us closer to securing food and medicine for my family. Please, don’t leave us alone; your compassion is the light that dispels this darkness. ✨🫂
Update on 17/1/2025
Dear friends,🌷
From the depths of my heart, I thank you for your support and assistance during our darkest times. You were the light that brought hope back to us when the world turned its back on us. 🫂💚
Thank God, a truce has been agreed upon. Our joy is indescribable; finally, the bloodshed will stop, and the suffering of the innocent will come to an end. We will sleep without fear of being the next target. 🥹
But our joy is incomplete; we are still without work or income, without a roof to protect our children from the cold and rain. Our torn tent barely shields our bodies from the harshness of winter, and the soaring prices deprive us of securing the simplest necessities of life, such as food, water, and medicine.😓
Unfortunately, donations to my family’s campaign have been very few lately, and we are no longer able to get through this difficult period or provide for our essential needs.😢💔
We appeal to your compassionate hearts to continue supporting us. Every donation, no matter how small, is a lifeline for us and our children. With your help, we can face this hardship. 🙏💚
