I am Animative Constructs and I mostly make puppets! A collection of mythical critters and.. Pokemon. Because I will forever love Pokemon.
So my original Magikarp rod puppets were all the size of the little golden boi here, until I realised it takes the same amount of effort (and less pain) to make them bigger! So my current generation of Magikarp are much larger! This was a fun set of photos just to show the size different between the original set and my current gen. I'm a bit sad because I can't buy the ready made domes I used for the mini fish in the size to fit the big karp, but ah well. Ain't they adorable?
It's like a bundle of flowers.. but fish! Pokemon rod puppet fish! My original fanart fish were Magikarp, but there's other Pokemon swimming about, so here's me expanding my repoitoire to include Goldeen and Seaking! No leather this time for the accents, instead soft..something material painted with copics, googly eyes for Seaking and teeth and horns made from milliput. Again, wooden based rod puppets, hand carved my yours truly and looking for new homes!
So here's a rod puppet where you can actually see the rod control! The ever so confused and fearing for their life, Feebas! Made from hand carved jindulung wood, leather accents and hand painted!
So here's some of my 'bone wyrms' little articulated glow in the dark snakey critters that live in little jars! Or they can enjoy freedom. They're happy either way as they either have sparkly things or a friend when in their jars, or you know, freedom when set free. 3D resin printed then hand painted! And put inside sprakle containers.
I need a photo where the eyes don't look like they're wanting to suck out your soul. Here is my Chocobo walkie bird! I wanted to make Walkie birds! (and I have) but then the design I have for the head was suggested to look like a Chocobo.. so I made chocobos! Yes! They dance like a mad man, it's great.
Since I made a gacha set of Eeveelutions they needed to have a chase version, right? SO DITTOVEES. Every eeveelution loaf comes in a ditto version!
Because I need something 'cheap' to sell at my table at conventions, I decided to make some gacha eeveelutions! ...and they haven't ended up nearly as cheap as I was intending as dear gosh handpainting TAKES FOREVER. Anyway. These are 3D resin printed figures, then hand painted with acrylics who come as a mystery gacha option at my table! Or I'll probably offer full sets at some point for a set price.
So along with fluffy handpuppets I also made wooden rod puppets! Which is why these pokemon have strings. These are hand carved from jindulung wood (an asiatic tree well renowned for carving, linden wood is super darn hard to get in Australia) and painted with acrylics with leather and material accents. These guys have a trigger down the rod that you tilt to make the wings flap! ..I should probably upload some videos of them actually moving.
First post! I make hand puppets and here is one of my Griffats! They're a glove puppet you use a finger to control the head/neck with while using a trick glove.
