Righty so yesterday I had a small heart attack when I realised that tomorrow was the first day of nalu fluff week and I literally rushed to my sketch book and started sketching. I know it’s not the greatest thing you’ll see, but I hope you all enjoy !

Even in the chaos of battle, it wasn’t hard to spot Lucy and Happy desperately running somewhere, and it was obvious that they weren’t running from something or someone.

This was enough to get Erza’s attention.

She quickly headed towards the two, knowing that it must’ve been important.

Lucy smiled at her comrade, and Happy gave a quick explanation:

“We hafta stop Natsu and Gray!”

The knight did not pry anymore, knowing that time was a luxury they didn’t have.

“Alright.”

It wasn’t long before Juvia and Wendy met up with them, and the five could tell they were near. The sounds of a distant battle filled the air.

Then it stopped.

Something was wrong, and Happy flew ahead to find out what.

“No…!”

Natsu was about to deal a finishing blow.

Before he could do anything, Erza jumped ahead.

“Stop this madness!”

The knight had foolishly hoped that this would be similar to the other times she had stopped them, but again, something was wrong.

“Mind… Your own business…” Natsu scowled, and reached out with a clawed hand. “I’ll… Defeat… Zeref…!”

The demon dropped Gray by the grip he had on the devil-slayers neck.

Natsu slowly stepped forwards, while Wendy and Juvia took advantage of his distracted state, running towards the ice mage’s limp body.

“Stop… Getting in… My way…”

Erza stepped forward. “We are your comrades, are we not?!”

Lucy stepped up behind her. “We can work together!”

“We’ll find another way!” Happy flew up behind them, still scared of his best friend’s current state. “B-because even if we win the war, i-it won’t be worth it to sacrifice y-you!”

The celestial Mage hesitated, remembering Aquarius, only to remember her previous speech about determination.

It was then that Natsu’s eyes widened, and he saw her.

Alive.

But his resolve did not falter.

“there isn’t… Another way…”

The demon’s eyes went black again, and he only saw more opponents ahead of him.

Especially the knight.

She was the biggest threat of all.

“You’re… In my way…”

His clawed hand reached for her gauntleted one, and in a flaming blur she was down on the ground next to Gray.

“Y-you….”

Lucy was next.

“I saw… You… Dead…!”

The blonde was now more determined than she had ever been.

“You didn’t realise that you were in DiMaria’s ‘time’! That was when time itself, and everything else stopped. Including my heart.”

“S-still…”

Lucy walked forward. “I won’t fight you. I’m here to help.”

Natsu scowled, and turned around.

“This… You… Are wasting… My time….”

He then began to walk towards the guild again.

Only to be stopped again by Titania.

She held up her sword, and he eyes burned with determination.

“Natsu.”

A shiver went down the demon’s spine, but he payed not attention to it.

“Explain yourself.”

There was another pause, and Happy started to fly over.

“He’s-”

Again, the exceed was interrupted by Gray, who Wendy just finished healing.

The devil slayer was weak, but still delusional, not noticing Juvia.

“He’s not who you know.”

“What do you mean?” Even the great Titania faltered at that statement.

“Etherious Natsu Dragneel. E. N. D.”

All eyes were either on Natsu or Gray.

Lucy was the first to speak.

“But he’s still our friend!” She looked at her former team member, who resembled a demon at the moment. “You’re still our friend, still a member of our guild, Natsu! We all share the same goals, so let us help you.”

Happy then realised he didn’t tell Lucy the full truth.

“I… Have one… Goal….” The demon breathes heavily. “Defeat… KILL…. Zeref…”

“But Natsu-”

No one would ever let Happy speak.

“It’s… My purpose… Alone…!”

It was then that they all realised how different Natsu was now.

Not only his speech, or goal, but his magic, no, curse. It was dark, and unforgiving, the exact opposite of what his flames used to be, what they used to stand for.

“Get… Out of… My way.”

“No!”

Happy flew in front of Erza’s sword.

“I… I won’t let you die! Even-Even if I have to fight you myself!”

“Happy…” Lucy smiled softy, and joined the blue cat. “Natsu, please! Snap out of it!”

“Don’t fight!”

All eyes were now on Juvia.

Including Gray’s.

“Juvia…”

“There is no reason to fight if we all share the same goal! Look were this contention has got us so far! The focus should be on the common goal.”

Her mind flashed back to the time she spent living with Gray, and how he would occasionally mention that killing E.N.D. was his new goal.

“I’m sorry Gray-sama, but he is your comrade. Please do not fight anymore.”
