I love how the movie doesn't show Fiyero arriving in a carriage, but simply atop a horse. An Animal horse. An Animal horse with whom he actually seems to be good friends. It adds a possible reason for why he felt enough compassion for the lion cub to rescue it.

Also, notice how Fiyero is not riding the horse when they whisk the cub away to safety. He's on a bicycle, just like Elphaba. In my mind it's partially because he didn't want to risk having his Animal friend be deemed the mastermind behind this act and accused of treason for his assistance.

Also he is the only one who doesn't have a negative reaction to Elphaba being green and doesn't understand why she is explaning she was just born green and didn't eat grass as a child etc he is like i don't care :)
