The Hobbit house kickstarter page is down and last time we heard she's trying to fix it. If you want more info about the situation and rewards then ask her
I'm a bit upset about not getting my perks from it either, but if you haven't reached out and asked about updates then why are you posting about it?
I've realized at this point that maintaining this blog and holding onto all this frustration is not great for my mental health, so I've decided to walk away from the Shipwrecked fandom and write off my HH merch as a loss. But I admit I can't help responding to this just a little, before I go.
You assumed that I haven't asked MK about this -- but I have, and she has made repeated excuses about being busy. However: 1. I really shouldn't have to ask, because she should already be keeping the backers informed as to the status and timeline of the project. 2. She's making herself more busy by launching a new Shipwrecked Kickstarter and project rather than prioritizing her existing commitments, so that excuse doesn't really hold water.
When I've run crowdfunding campaigns in the past, I have always prioritized keeping the backers informed and finishing the project before starting anything new, and I hold the artists I support to those same standards.
I know you're saying all this because you feel that MK is your friend, so you're coming to her defense. Coming to the defense of a friend is an admirable impulse, and if you're ok with the fact that she's ignoring her existing commitments, then that's fine for you. Personally, I'm rather hurt by it, and I'm allowed to whinge about it on Tumblr if I like.
If you haven't received a kickstarter reward then you should contact them via kickstarter instead of posting about it
It's very sweet that you think I'm talking about an isolated incident where surely there was a simple misunderstanding, rather than MK not delivering Hobbit Houses merch to literally anyone but still asking people to fund her new audiobook and now this musical.
Repeat after me, children: We don't start a new Kickstarter until we've fulfilled our promises/orders from the last one. It's called "good business practice."
We definitely don't ask people to buy new tote bags when we still haven't shipped the tote bags they bought two years ago.
Sure would be cool if I could get excited about a new Shipwrecked Kickstarter campaign, but I have this crazy thing where I expect people I buy things from to give me what I've paid for before they ask me for more money for other things. Quirky I know, but that's just me!
VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN!!
My Headless joke broke containment to the point that people are making it about other things, including (amusingly) Frakenstein.

Hey does anyone have any ideas what the hell this note in my notes app could possibly mean?
Was at a party last night with a bunch of other Elder Millennials and the "They're gonna know" meme came up. I commented that I had no idea where the audio originally came from, and someone said "I think it's from Starchild." I was like "What the hell is Starchild" and he said "It's this YouTube group that's super popular, a bunch of memes have come from them."
It took me a minute to realize he meant Starkid. Which is also not where that audio came from 😂
Uh, I just noticed that everything Shipwrecked has disappeared from Letterboxd except Gilded Lily. Headless, Poe Party, American Whoopee -- all vanished. At first I thought maybe they changed their mind about including miniseries, but I confirmed there's still plenty of those on there -- and anyway, that wouldn't explain American Whoopee. Then I thought to look for Wayward Guide, and that's also gone. But clearly they didn't remove everything that's hosted on YouTube, because Gilded Lily is still there, as well as a bunch of other TCB and Starkid stuff (Spies, The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, etc). I wondered if they'd all been taken off TMDB as well, which is where Letterboxd draws their info from, and it's similar but not 1:1 -- ALL Shipwrecked stuff is gone from TMDB, even Gilded Lily, and some Starkid and TCB stuff but not the same stuff (Spies and TGWDLM aren't on TMDB, but Flop Stoppers and Nerdy Prudes are).
Anyone know anything??
Maybe you could redo that poll of if Shipwrecked fans also like Starkid and TCB? But now also include the option for all 3 equally, and don't tag starkid and tcb lol. I'm curious if the results will be different then, and I think enough time has passed...
Does anyone else want me to redo this ill-fated poll where I failed at science? If enough people care, I will attempt to science better this time.
Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Invite Only Casual Dinner Party/Gala For Friends (Potluck) Bookshop Bingo Card!
@starpirateee and I were wandering around waterstone’s earlier today and decided to see how many of the Poe Party Cast we could find books from (Ik Eddie, Lenore, Guy and Annabelle are from existing works but they count)
So feel free to save this whenever you go to a bookshop and go hunting!
Can you check off Eddie if you run into any of those editions of Shakespeare plays and poems some wackjob published with Edward de Vere's name on them? 😂
My personal rule is that if you take money from people in order to provide a product or service, you provide them with that product or service BEFORE you ask them to give you more money for a different product or service. Just y'know, seems like a general fair way to do business...or just to behave as a human being.
Like, oh just for an example, if you do a Kickstarter for a webseries and people give you money both for that series and for related merchandise, maybe you should provide them with that series and that merchandise before you ask them to also sign up for your Patreon to access a new audio series you're working on.
It's what your mom always said when you were a kid: finish what you started.

The Librarians: The Next Chapter is now available on Kanopy! Kanopy is a free streaming service that anyone with a US public library card can access. Title availability sometimes varies depending on your library system, so go log in or create an account to be sure, but I suspect it'll be available to everyone because they mentioned it in their weekly "what to watch this weekend" email!
@booigi-boi, if you have a VPN I will gladly hook you up with my credentials 💜
Does not recognize my library as an option in a smaller area unfortunately
I would recommend asking your library about it -- library systems have to choose to sign up for Kanopy, so it might be that they don't think their userbase would be interested. Also possible that it's outside their budget, but it's worth asking!
Sorry, but in no universe would Lysa Pascal, incredibly pedantic nerd scientist with advanced degrees in physics, mathematics, and engineering, use the word "random" colloquially. She's the kind of person who would correct other people when they did use it.
