valentina-kent:
Makes me glad I’m only half vampire. Don’t think I can handle much more morbid.
You prefer to stay far away from morbid, don’t go anywhere near the basement then. Torture chambers and all.
spencer-vanxwarren:
Excuse me if I’m not in my typical talkative mood– fighting a nasty headache.
On top of literally everything else, I don’t blame you.
Rough week?
valentina-kent:
Just because it’s the end of the world, doesn’t mean we gotta look the part.
Facing a world-ending death day is so bad for the skin and pores. It isn’t morbid if it’s true and you’ll soon learn vampires are very much that sometimes.
finn-mcalister:
He turned his back to rest against the counter as she spoke, waiting for the kettle to boil. Finn cocked his head to the side as he thought. The house was empty for the moment except for the three of them, Parker included. “It has been quiet… I have seen a lot of the Chastain twin,” he said, pursing his lips tightly, “only a fool would think he wouldn’t dare mess with me, but he hasn’t as of yet. Just… watches.” He gave a small contemplative hum as the kettle began to hiss, taking it off of the stove to walk to the island, pouring the water in the Anna’s cup before doing the same to his. “It has been rather uneventful, voices wise,” he said briefly as he took the seat across from her, taking a box of teabags to place in front of them. Selecting one, he continued. “Sometimes I forget that the world isn’t always full of voices… Killgrove is just different.”
Anna nodded her head slowly in understanding as he spoke, taking the time to glance around their surrounding as if Rowan’s spirit were hovering over the two supernatural beings in that very moment. Her interactions with the deceased Chastain twin were few and far between, but it isn’t surprising she heard many stories on top of the evil misdeeds she was witness to. “It doesn’t come as a shock someone like Rowan would have a plan B even in death’s icy grasp. With the way he unceremoniously left, seems his business is unfinished.” The kettle’s readiness pulled the vampire from all thoughts of Ravenna’s brother, yanking her attention instead to the piping hot water calling her name. “Well, there’s your understatement of the year.” She plucked a teabag from the box, unwrapping it before dipping it into her mug continuously, “I’m sure you’re enjoying the quiet, though. No one can turn down the opportunity for their alone time, however brief it is. It’s the calm before the storm.”
finn-mcalister:
“Or two, it is,” he gave a small smile as he walked into the kitchen to put on the kettle, pulling down some cups before walking to the table to place them in front of seats. Finn gave a small chuckle, “that’s awfully kind of you– I appreciate it. With his puppy teeth, he goes through the toys and then goes after my fingers or toes. My appendages thank you.”
Anna shot him a satisfied grin as she slid into a seat at the kitchen island, watching the medium navigate around the room before nudging her empty cup closer. “I know firsthand the injuries sustained from a new puppy are on a yikes factor level, so you can tell your appendages they’re absolutely welcome.” She smiled solemnly and glanced down, lifting the gaze once again after a moment. “So, how are the voices faring? Anything new?”
finn-mcalister:
I guess I somehow forgot that.
You don’t have to go. I was about to make some tea if you’d like a cup or two.
I’m a forgiving woman, for today.
How about or two to start? I brought over a few more toys for Parker since I see he’s chewing through his old ones like no tomorrow. He’ll make a badass guard dog.
aimee-ofbabylon:
That, you do, darling.
Why not both? Ruby red like the blood we need to survive blended into glittering black of night– how poetic.
Oh, that is an iconic look if I’ve never seen one. For the ensemble, I’m thinking cat heels with a ‘living my best hoe life’ dress and a leather jacket. We could match.
finn-mcalister:
I’m definitely awkward, so I would assume you’re correct.
Um… thanks?
Oh, did we not establish that I’m always correct? Damn, my bad.
And now I’ve gone and made you uncomfortable. I should probably see myself out.
finn-mcalister:
Flirtations? I’m merely stating the obvious.
I think you think too highly of me.
Or you’re doing that thing all awkward men do when you aren’t certain how to compliment a woman.
What, it’s not like you aren’t easy on the eyes yourself.
aimee-ofbabylon:
You’d be doing the public education system a service, really. You should get a medal for your service.
Are you kidding, I deserve a damn key to the town for my efforts which won’t go to waste.
Which eyeshadow should I go with? Bougie black like our damned souls or ruby red for infamy?
finn-mcalister:
Well… I think you look nice all the time, if it’s any consolation.
Oh, the big guy has flirtations now, who knew? You must have the girls falling for that modesty.
aimee-ofbabylon:
Oh honey, I get it. You never know when you are gonna get your picture taken and put into history books. Might as well be the hot bitch that teens have wet dreams about when they have to study history.
I won’t be the girl caught dead with a bad hair and make-up day only to be made the butt of a joke in said history books. Just force the sexually horny adolescents to have no choice but to share an interest in the subject. Win-win.
Not saying that we aren’t going to be decimated, but I may as well look nice.
szymanski-tiberius:
“No, but I should have stepped in long ago,” Tiberius said with a small sigh before watching Anna destroy a portion of his home. “This better be as good as you say it is, Anna, or else you’ll be fixing the walls,” he gave a small grin as he retrieved a spare mallet, doing as the young vampire did and slamming it into a wall with a loud bang. It was satisfying. “Well… you weren’t wrong but I’m afraid I will need more walls and then we won’t have a house.”
“Maybe it’s time for us to spend less of what should have been done and more on what needs to be.” Anna shifted the mallet from one hand to another, almost doubting he would even consider this, but proving her wrong instantly. There it was, another hole in the wall. “Alright, slow down, big guy, let’s just start with this room. I knew it’d relieve stress,” She slammed the hammer into the plaster again, a different spot, huffing as she did, “One step closer to redecoration at a time. No more talk of councils,” She pummeled the wall again as she listed, “Or problems with Eloise,” Another hit, “Or the fact we could die at any moment’s notice.” The hammer went into the wall one more time before the vampire stopped, “We can do this.”
finn-mcalister:
Finn usually enjoyed the rare silences that he got, given that he didn’t usually get silence with the voices that swam in his head, but he didn’t like Anna’s silence on the trek back to his home. He could feel her anxiousness in waves, in turn making him anxious. As Anna ushered them inside his home, he squashed any questions he had, brows furrowed in confusion before looking over at the bundle in the all too large bed that sat in the living room. A puppy just old enough to be away from its mother, a little innocent soul untarnished by the cruel world. “Oh, Anna,” Finn whispered as he walked to the small animal, Parker, kneeling to let him smell him; get familiar. He’d always had animal companions throughout his life, they had always known when he was having episodes and were able to ground him, but after Thatcher passed, Finn didn’t have it in his heart to get any new companion. Looking into this small dog’s eyes, though, he knew that he needed this. Finn gathered the dog into his arms, petting him gently as he buried his face into his fur; absorbing its warmth and letting the animal ground him to the moment. “I don’t know what to say,” Finn said after a time, looking back at the girl who had gifted him with such an extrodinary thing, “thank you just doesn’t seem to suffice. You’ve already helped me in more ways than one, but now… I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you.”
Anna remained at the doorframe leading to the living room, allowing the man acquaint himself with his new companion and letting Parker in return grow familiar with his owner. His wonderful, kind-hearted, shattering underneath the surface owner. Her friend she did not deserve in a million years. Anna’s intense passion ran deep in her family, her father helped others during his time as a hunter, and she can only imagine her mother carried a heart worth its weight in gold for the people around her. Seeing what’s become of the Sinclair unit crushed the vampire, all members were supernatural apart from one, and she knew the loneliness accompanying each of them in their own ways. “Then say nothing. It’s okay.” Anna moved through the room until she reached the man and the puppy, lowering to her knees beside them both and giving Parker’s ear a quick scratch. There was another silent beat before she responded again. “You helped me in one of my darkest times, Finn. I never felt so alone in those moments, but I knew I wasn’t as lonely when I was around you. And after what happened to Thatcher, I needed reassurance that you would never experience that when I wasn’t here to keep you company. He’ll look after you when I can’t, if I can’t.”
raphael-theresilient:
The best thing you can do right now is to help him maintain order in the coven. You may be back on the right track, but not everyone is. He can’t deal with the town if his own coven is imploding.
“As if I could get anyone to behave themselves, and I’m not just talking about Eloise.” Folding her arms across her chest, Anna leaned against the car’s side and huffed softly. Kade was altogether harmless, a manwhore, but harmless. “Enough about my coven’s troubles, what about yours? If you’re technically considered part of the Thornton coven.”
