“Nooo—” she moaned. Her body was shaking, trembling from His laughter as he watched through her eyes, as he catalogued every feeling she felt. His magic was clasped around her heart like fingers, squeezing tighter and tighter as she failed to do what he knew she would. It was all a game, a reminder that no matter where he was locked, he could still do this to her — to them. He wanted Raphael to know that no one was safe, no one would ever be safe while he still existed in them. A parasite that festered in their corpse, moving and controlling it however he like. Lily’s eyes widen out of fear as He took full control of her arm, moving it to her back pocket where the knife was. The blade was long, sharp, and covered with dried specks of the black sludge that made up her blood. He couldn’t stop the thick tears that rolled down her cheeks, or the shake in her arm as He raised the knife from behind her. He moved her lips into His familiar smirk took place on her, but it liked gnarled and awkward from her fear. Then she spoke, her voice forced from her mouth. “Send my sister my regards.” Her other hand was pressed against the wall, and with His whim He pressed the knife into the flesh of her little finger and cut it off. Lily’s throat was hoarse with the mixture of her screams and His laughter. All she could do was stare as He mutilated her hand, moving to the next finger and pressing the blade down.
Raphael eyed the knife too late, his eyes focused on the girl’s face-- enraptured by the sure change in it. It truly was like he was looking at Dante once more, Dante’s words sending a shiver down his spine. “Dante,” he shouted as he watched in horror as he cut of the girl’s finger. Raphael always knew what things Dante could do, he’s felt it-- but seeing it in person? Even as the girl cried, the knife still moved. Without thinking, Raph stepped forward, grabbing the blade and ripping it from the girl’s grip; not caring that his own blackened blood joined hers on the blade. “Enough, Dante,” Raphael said as he stared down the girl, knowing that he could hear her as plainly as he was the one standing in front of him, “you got your point across, now leave the girl alone-- if you want to pick on someone, pick on me.”

“Well,” Rav reached over and plucked the grease-stained rag Raphael had been to remove the dirt and grime from his fingers, “We are lacking a certain…key spark of our relationship, love. It is only fair making up lost time.” She brushed her lips to his softly, pulling away with another hum, “But I do wonder if that isn’t what is on your mind.”
He leaned in to the small connection of their lips, but just as quick as it was there, it was gone. “It’s not,” Raphael sighed. He had wished he could remain ignorant and live in a relative peace but he knew he couldn’t; not when Dante brought a puppet back in to the town... not when he can feel Dante as well. Nothing was ever going to be simple. “You need to know that there’s a girl here,” Raphael started, his brown eyes settling on the dark witch, “she’s one of Dante’s enthralled. She tried to get me to take her to him-- he spoke to me. ‘Send my sister my regards’. He used her like a meat suit, Ravenna.”

She’d meant to play it cool, to be as unbothered and emotionless as she possible could. To see him, the Raphael who haunted her dreams with the images that He intended to destroy once he was free. The happiness that he felt when with the dark haired witch – Ravenna – it soured inside of, her thoughts turning dark like His. “Am I supposed to thank you? And for something I never asked…” She scoffed and crossed her arms, her sleeves pulled over her hands. “You’ve been like this for what? Barely a year? You can’t imagine what it even means to be like this. To be rotten inside. You’ve only tasted what he is, what he’s capable of. He treats you like some fucking pet that he actually likes—” The words cut themselves from her throat, Lily felt a flare of anger and a crushing in her throat. Her next words fell with a breathless rasp, as tears swarmed in her eyes, “Please. Just let me do this.” Panicked had settled into her voice, her eyes wide as she felt her limbs stiffen and muscles shift.
Raphael’s lips quirked with annoyance before he listened to what the girl was actually saying; her body language displaying not confidence or a demanding demeanor-- but of one that is reserved and anxious. She was like him, and was like him a lot longer. He’d only gotten tastes of what Dante did-- he could still feel him in his mind. Dante was a presence that scratched against his psyche like nails on a chalk board; sometimes he could feel little spurts of Dante’s emotions during his day like he was there. It was disgusting-- and to know that there was someone out there that was suffering worse than him... it gave him a sympathetic pain that he hasn’t felt in so long that he almost forgot what it felt like. Empathy-- it was almost foreign to him now. “Look, kid, I’m not the one who you need to talk to, who can actually help. You need to talk to the ones that put him under that spell,” Raphael said with a sigh, “and they aren’t going to be very helpful seeing as he helped almost destroy this town. I can take you to Dante, but unless you’re a very powerful witch, you’re not waking him up.”

I only know when I’m aware that torture chamber is soundproof. Nobody can force me to sit around the house doing nothing as the world burns, Raphael. He’s facing this alone.
The best thing you can do right now is to help him maintain order in the coven. You may be back on the right track, but not everyone is. He can’t deal with the town if his own coven is imploding.

I know it isn’t the significance of the matter, but I couldn’t help wondering.
So, allow me to properly understand this recap you have given me. You have a retired hunter for a father, both of your siblings are vampires, and you…were taken and tortured by someone who can raise the dead before dying yourself and coming back to life. Moral of the story is, Eloise Bellefleur deserves the darkest pits of hell. You can’t make this stuff up.
I really wish I could make something like this up, it seems like it’s straight out of some stereotypical supernatural YA novel. If it’s any consolation, if Eloise wanted your son dead, he’d be dead. She’s a part of Tiberius Szymanski’s coven and, believe it or not, he’s a good one. He’ll do what needs to be done and will get your son back.

Had I known what she did, I would’ve saved him the trouble and released the poor kid myself. Any version of a distraction isn’t going to help our cause, no, I just…don’t know how to fix this.
She’s usually sneaky like that-- you would know the best. Some things can’t be fixed, Anna, nor is it your job to fix it.

I’m actually glad it’s not me getting anyone’s attention but you have to know what you’re doing is wrong. Don’t you have any sort of guilty bone in your body? If not guilt for what your doing to someone that you’re torturing, but for Tiberius? Anna said she’s worried about him.

Father’s an ex-hunter, my mother died when I was young-- we moved here and walked ourselves into our worst nightmares. My sister, Anna, was taken and turned into a vampire against her will by Eloise Bellefleur and currently resides with the Szymanski coven. My brother was kidnapped, tortured, and turned into a vampire by Eloise’s snotty jealous cousin. Said cousin was then killed by my brother’s boyfriend when everything came to light. Me? I was kidnapped, tortured, and killed by the towns very own necromancer and then brought back to life to be a living puppet. Let me tell you, it’s been wild.

Imagine what you think of as bad and triple it. His hair is falling out at this point and the hot water Eloise landed in with him earlier is two seconds from turning him bald. If it’s not the town falling apart, Raph, it’s my coven.

You know it’s bad if he actually snaps at Eloise, she usually gets away with everything. Do you really thing painting the home is going to help him, though?

That is where you’re wrong. I know exactly what and who Dante is. I’m not the the one who chose his fate, his coven mates did. You wouldn’t even be here if I had chosen what happened to because if it were up to me, Dante would be dead.
It’s not up to me, so the answer is no.
