You cannot hide this in the tags, bestie. This is too lovely to keep a secret.
Theodor would approve.
Some of my favourite (and most representative) panels I drew for 'The Dream Thieves' graphic novel adaptation I finished work on last year, and that comes out on August 9th (you can preorder it)! To be frank, the process of adapting this book was like pulling apart a beloved childhood toy and trying to put it back together with half the parts. I am proud of her, but boy did she back over my lifeless body more than once.
you walk into the raven cycle like what the fuck kinda name is "gansey" and you walk out of th raven cycle like these characters are my close personal friends
You know, rivers catching on fire used to be a regular occurrence.
Boring, even. Mundane. People just accepted that rivers had oil slicks floating on them that could be lit by somebody throwing their cigarette in the wrong place. Cities had regular protocols in place on what to do when the river caught on fire.
The modern environmentalism movement wasn’t just started by hippies you know. Regular people cared about this stuff because their rivers caught on fire and existing near farms gave them cancer and by the 1970s they weren’t even seeing that much economic benefit from it.
If you don’t live in a world where rivers regularly catch on fire it’s because of stuff like the clean water and air acts. A lot of rivers in the US that in the first half of the 20th century regularly caught on fire are now safe to swim and fish in.
A lot of environmental damage is reversible if we act. We’ve got a lot of success stories like this actually. A lot of formerly endangered species have come back, fish have returned to American rivers, the ozone layer is being restored.
I’m not sure what’s going to happen next with the environment but I hold out at least a little bit of hope. Because rivers used to catch on fire and now for the most part they don’t.
i need everyone to watch this edit right nowww holy shit
Fucked up thinking about them again
You know what though? It's kind of in character for Will and Mike to not get together even after El is dead. Especially Will. Survivor's guilt. The girl who is the reason why you lived, the girl who repeatedly put her life on the line for you and the people you love, who became part of your family and literally died so you could all be free. How could you betray her like that? How could you pursue her boyfriend? It doesn't matter that he was yours first. It doesn't matter that you loved him since the day you met. It would be an injustice and an insult to her memory that through her death came everything you ever wanted. So you can never let yourself have it. Even if you spend the rest of your days regretting it.
Me, finding Mike's character assassinated, dead on the ground:
The concept of Will finally gaining a stable father figure through Hopper, but forever feeling like he's taking Jane's place.
The concept of Hopper having to learn how to be a father to two sons after having two daughters.
The concept of Will telling his college friends that he's a twin, and showing them pictures of Jane, forever frozen at 16, and them telling him they see the resemblance.
The concept of Jonathan getting Will back, but still mourning a younger sibling in the end.
The concept of the Hopper-Byers family never getting to live all together under one roof.
The concept of Will’s college friends joking about how everyone in Will’s family has a name starting with J except for him, and him having to resist saying that his sister also had another name that sounded similar to his own.
The concept of Hopper seeing Will huddled asleep in Jane's old room one night and just seeing Jane for a second.
The concept of Jonathan making a film about overcoming abuse and dedicating it to Jane.
Just the concept of the Hopper-Byers family post Jane's death.
“Yeah and that’s, uh, my sister. My brother took that photo of us right after we moved to California. She kept trying to braid her hair and couldn’t really figure it out and neither could we, til my mom stepped in and, well, she loved doing her hair. But yeah, um, she died—when we were teenagers. Sixteen. There was this earthquake and, and… and she saved everyone. Like, everyone. Sorry yeah, I’m fine. It’s—it’s just hard to talk about. She was a total superhero.”

hey bro can i ask you a question that will reveal a deep and fundamental gap in my knowledge of the world
of course bro opening up about your lack of knowledge and asking questions is the only way to fill in that fundamental gap
