I'm a closet atheist too. I have no idea how I would ever bring it up. What do you do?

I don't think religion  or non religion should be brought up at work. If others bring it up, I try to change the topic, leave, or ignore it. The reason I don't bring it to HR is that no one is really saying anything offensive. They're just talking about their lives. One coworker in particular comes to mind. Xianity is his life -- it's who he is. Atheism, however, is not who I be. It doesn't define me. It's not my life. So I don't feel the need to talk about it at work.

Are you aware of the phrase "I don't know?" Youre essentially asking, "do you believe theres a magic being in the sky who created the world and judges where you end up after death?" Saying yes based off of faith is fine. Saying no based off science is fine. And saying "i have no fucking clue" because some people refuse to take a side on the matter without irrefutable evidence is also fine. It's possible to not know everything sir. It a part of life.

The questions isn't "Do you know...", it's, "Do you believe?"

"Atheism" means "without theism" the same way "asymmetrical" means "without symmetry." If you don't know God exits, yet still actively believe in God, you are an agnostic theist. If you don't know God exits, yet don't actively believe in God, then you are an agnostic atheist.

"I don't know" is irrelevant because atheism isn't just about knowing. It's about belief. Gnosticism and agnosticism are about knowledge. Theism and atheism are about belief. I don't know if God exits, but I certainly don't believe God exists, therefore I am an agnostic atheist, but an atheist nonetheless. Don't be afraid of the atheist label. Embrace it.

Personal

I’m ready to give my life to Christ after being in church for so many years and watching numerous people give their life to Christ and me witness the change within them. I truly believe I am ready. I’ve been on a spiritual awakening lately and I feel like its finally opened my life. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me I’m ready to be closet to the Lord.
