They’re on Reddit saying texting “hi” is low iq and gives people the ick and that’s why they got ghosted. They don’t let u say hi no more….. we’re in a loneliness epidemic bc everybody is a weirdo about every little thing im cracking up
If you say "hi" and that's it you sound like you don't give a shit. Why would I want to talk to someone who won't even introduce themselves properly? Make an effort or suffer your loneliness epidemic.
You people are crazy . You’re just crazy. This isn’t a normal world anymore
It's poor netiquette. If someone sent you a letter in the mailbox that just said "hi" would that not drive you insane?
I would send hello ^.^ back ….. and feel warm inside
It also deeply bothers me how many people pull the "okay now ask the average African American how they feel about gay and trans people" as a gotcha, to try to act as though Black people specifically hate and are oppressing queer and trans people (and as if we just, AREN'T those things too).
Buddy ask the average White American how they feel about gay and trans people, since we're taking the census and the piss. Hell, look at the people in charge currently pushing anti trans and anti queer legislation and tell me how they identify. Look at the racial demographics of our last election and tell me who you think is out here going rah rah for the gays and theys.
The audacity to suggest that my entire community is homophobic (I.e., you spend zero time around Black queer and trans folk) but somehow yours is worthy of a closer, more nuanced look... Really some OG white supremacy, actually! "Those savages, they don't understand things like gender and sexuality, they're just angry uncultured brutes!" -mentality shared between 1700s race scientists and 2026 You, apparently.
Some folks was really out here lying with those #BLM pins 😭
well yes
do u ever think about corn sweat; and the fact that a large percent of corn grown in Illinois, iowa, etc is grown for ethanol and biofuel; and how solar power would be so many times more effective per acre than this; and how like 90+% of so many rare ecosystems in those states was drained for farm and suburbs (in many cases previously farms).
Welcome back Hillary Clinton
Genuinely, I, and I assume many other people, would like an apology from those that shilled for her back in 2018. This is inevitably where that would take us.
theres a lot of jobs i think would be cool to automate but the people being automated out of a job are given no alternatives because this is being done for the employers benefit not the employee. so we're in a weird situation where im lookin at jobs that i really dont think any person should be forced to endure and still having to go "well i guess id rather a human do it than a robot" which kind of sucks major ass actually. why am i on the side of employment. god damn it.
RPG where it's very easy to overcome all of the bosses nonviolently through correct dialogue choices, but actually doing so locks you into the bad ending; in order to get the good ending, you need to do a bunch of obtuse side quests in order to goad them into fighting you.
#honestly this sounds fun #gimme the options #i wanna know what my choices are #how ambivalent can i be? #but also it's so much funnier that this concept makes violence the correct answer (via @cuzosu-blog)
Yeah, you could definitely play a scenario where violence is the morally correct answer for laughs, but you don't have to.
If you wanted to play it straight, one might imagine a game about fighting a fascist state where all of the bosses are The One Good Nazi types with very sympathetic, human reasons for collaborating with the regime – there's the Sad Dad who's only committing mass murder because they're holding his kid hostage, the idealist who genuinely believes they can reform the system from the inside, the moral coward who rationalises their atrocities as harm reduction because if they quit, whoever replaced them would be even worse, etc. – and all of the talky nonviolent options for dealing with them involve compromising the player character's principles.
The final boss is naturally a totally unsympathetic Hitler 2.0 type, but before you can fight him he hits you with the old Mustapha Mond monologue, and if you've let even one of his buddies off the hook, he turns the tables on the conversation-fu trope and persuades the player character to stand down.
The achievement for getting the good ending is, of course, titled "The Only Good Nazi Is A Dead Nazi".
What the fuck is radiation. "Hey there's this invisible force with the magical power to move every single molecule in your body a little bit to the left. Consequently you shit blood and die."
Worldbuilding exercise #137: imagining how answers regarding mildly obscure trivia about your setting's culture, geopolitics, and history would be phrased on a hypothetical episode of Celebrity Jeopardy (which for the purpose of this exercise exists in that world in precisely the same form as it does in ours).
I'm 100% serious about that first part, for the record. If you have a certain type of mindset, doing this exercise with regular Jeopardy might send you down a rabbit hole trying to decide whether a given answer is too obvious to be game show trivia, but doing it with Celebrity Jeopardy totally bypasses that potential stumbling block because on Celebrity Jeopardy a solid 50% of the answers are objectively dumb as hell.
The contestants are always in-universe celebrities, plus Sean Connery
time to make a post on tumblr. surely no one will interpret it to be as offensive and bad intentioned as possible.
