the entirety of undertale takes place in less than one day
this is a fact and 100% canon. if yellow spare names are thrown out in favour of pink ones, frisk can return to the froggit that changes the colours after asriel is defeated for some interesting dialogue.
the latest the name colours can be changed is right before the battle with toriel. the earliest this “aging pink names” dialogue can be seen is right before seeing the pacifist end credits. according to this froggit, everything that occurs within this timeline happens “today”.
there are small clues about this time frame nestled throughout the game. characters will reference to “today” quite often, for example.

furthermore, “yesterday” never describes a time when frisk was in the underground. in fact, there are only two instances of the word in the game.
