they were a harsh reminder for him, the sort of thing he preferred not to look at, always careful with mirrors after a shower, but to you, they were part of him. they were beautiful. 

he slept on his back most of the time but on rare occasions, when he was getting dressed, or walking around shirtless, you’d get a full view of the tattoos. sometimes he’d even let you trace them with your fingers.

he’d never admit it but he always enjoyed your fascination with them, your fascination with him. proof that you loved him, all of him, and that he’d given his heart to the right woman.

John wick fluff - Early mornings.

A/n: so this was requested by @weyheycraicey and hopefully its what you expected. Fingers crossed. I didnt want to make it to long because sometimes i feel like long stories are annoying to read so this is like a shortish kinda thing. Idk i hope you enjoy it 😅.

________________________________________ Y/n had known John for about 7 months and every second had been amazing.

At the present moment y/n was sprawled out in the double bed that her and john shared in the mansion that john called home. Opening her eyes she turned to see john laying on his back, soft snores making his chest rise and fall. Y/n smiled and leaned to move the strands of hair which had fallen over his face, a small smile flashed across john’s face as he felt y/n soft hands graze over his face.

“what are you doing?” he laughed keeping his eyes closed. Y/n leaned down onto his naked chest and continued to stare at him, taking in all the small details of his face. Her mind wandered as she looked at how peaceful the man in front of her looked. When y/n didn’t answer john opened his eyes and stared down at the girl. “well?” John asked snapping y/n out of her trance like state. “hmm?” y/n sighed sitting up properly now, her hair falling over her bare shoulders where her shirt and slid down and the early morning sun giving her face a beautiful glow that illuminated her eyes.

John just laughed taking in her beauty “y/n i love you dearly, but you are always away with the fairies” he leant forward and place a soft kiss on her forehead.

John had always been a hopeless romantic despite the career he was in, sure they had hours of hot and steamy sex but there was something in the way he simply kissed her and hugged her that drove y/n insane.

John got out of bed and left y/n sitting as he pulled on a shirt. Y/n pouted. “heeeyyy where are you going?” she asked and he pointed to the kitchen “i want to make my beautiful girlfriend some food”. “smooth” y/n stood up on the bed and john turned around knowing just what she wanted. Y/n jumped onto his back “high ho silver” y/n shouted and john started to walk out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen. “im not running” he said walking down the stairs and y/n dropped down. “well you are starting to get old” she joked but instantly regretted it when john turned around and held his hands on his hips. “what did you say?” he faked a stern voice “you heard me” she stepped forward closing the gap between them.

“ohhhh thats it” he said lunging forward making a grab for her waist. Y/n squealed and dodged his attempt at grabbing her making a mad dash for the living room. If John wanted to, he could have taken y/n down in a blink of an eye but instead let her run off. As she approached the sofa, john jumped forward and pulled her down onto the floor. He hovered over her and closed the gap between them, y/n wrapped her arms around his neck as he leaned down and kissed her. The butterflies in her stomach still fluttered at his actions and she smiled into the kitchen. “I may be old, but you love this old man” he joked “that’s true” she smiled again “plus you have great experience” she smirked and kissed him again . “so how about food?” she laughed as his stomach growled “sure” and with that john jumped up holding his hand out to help y/n off the ground. As she began to walk towards the kitchen, john followed and slapped her butt. “JOHN” she exclaimed laughing “what? You shouldn’t be looking so good”.

“shut up” she blushed and the two began to make breakfast together. They both relaxed into the comfort of each other’s company and for the first time in a while, John was truly happy.

“Baby, please?” you whined, your bottom lip poking out in a pout.

“Why?” he laughed, running his hand through his hair to get it out of his face, “I don’t think it’ll be as fun as you think.”

“Well obviously you want it out of your face, just let me braid it,” you tried to convince him, moving closer to him and putting your hands on his shoulders. “Usually you have a harder time saying no to me,” you stood on your tippy toes and silently asked him to kiss you. He happily obliged, moving his hands around to your lower back.

“I never said no,” he smiled, leaning in and kissing the tip of your nose.

“Is that a yes?” you asked gleefully.

He playfully rolled his eyes, “I guess.”

Trying not to squeal, you ran behind the couch and patted the cushion, inviting him to sit. He sauntered over and plopped down, and you went to work finger-combing his hair.

“This actually feels nice,” he said, and you laughed because you knew the only time he was used to your fingers in his hair was when the two of you were in bed (or in the shower, or anywhere else the mood struck).

You split his hair into two sections, then each of those sections into three. “I need to do pigtails, your hair’s too thick to just do one down the middle,” you said.

“Pigtails?” he sounded adorably concerned. 

“Hush, we’re not going anywhere,” you leaned around and planted a kiss on his cheek before going back to work. He sat quietly, just enjoying the feeling of having his hair played with even though it was being braided. 

“My masterpiece is complete,” you said after a few minutes, coming back around the couch and extending a hand to him, “let’s go look!”

He chuckled at your enthusiasm and took your hand, then followed you into the bathroom. His face when he looked in the mirror was unexpected - he shrugged and gave a “not bad” face. “It’s ridiculous but I can see the appeal,” he smiled, turning to you.

“You’re beautiful,” you said, laughing.

“You’re crazy,” he responded.

“You love me.”

“You’re right.“

Jolting awake at 3am with a foot or a hand or some other appendage in your ribcage was not necessarily something you’d been enjoying about pregnancy, but every time you saw Keanu’s face when he felt the baby move made up for any discomfort you were experiencing. He’d fallen asleep tonight facing you, with his hand on your bump, and when you sat up to get the baby to shift to a more comfortable position for you, he woke up almost immediately and put his hand on your back.

“Baby, is everything okay?” he asked, voice rough and eyes sleepy. He tended to err on the side of caution with the pregnancy, and you understood his worry, so you didn’t question him. He was very protective of you and the baby; he’d spent the last seven months making sure you were never too stressed, and he’d taken over all the household chores that he’d deemed to be too physical, like scrubbing floors and carrying laundry baskets. It was his goal to ensure the health of both you and the baby, who the two of you had affectionately nicknamed Scout due to the fact that you didn’t know the gender.
