What part of cis are we 'down with'-ing? Is it the idea that cisness is right/superior/necessary? Is it us opposing the murder/harassment/etc of trans people? Some people seem to misconstrue it as 'down with people whose assigned gender matches their real gender, because every single one is definitely 100% pure evil'. So, although I'm trans, and I may agree with the meaning behind it, I think I'll wait until we have a less ambiguous slogan to get on the bus. On anon to hopefully minimize drama.
“down with cis” is a play at generalizing cis people. its a mock of the backlash we get for even existing. too many cis people want us to die for what we are, and im allowed to make fun of the disgusting scum that hates me without knowing me. if you think im honestly saying that all cis people should fuck off then you’re getting the wrong idea, but the reality is that there are a shitload of people out there banning us from public spaces, disgusted with us while simultaneously sexualizing the same trans women they’re willing to shoot on the street. the truth is that a shitload of people generalize us and hate us as a whole. im allowed to be fucking pissed off about that.
Down with cis is literally a fucking tumblr meme. How about instead of wasting your fucking time harassing Trans folks over the Internet for a tumblr meme, try helping the Trans people that are getting murdered for existing. I am ashamed to call myself cis because of you idiots who would rather get angry about a bus meme, than people who are being wrongfully murdered. But it just shows that you don’t care about Trans lives.
