@antebellumite
……dreamt that The Great Triumvirate went to assassinate AJ……and um, the plot goes like:
(a little obsessed with Shakespeare recently, sorry
i cant help but imagine that inside of supreme court justice antonin scalia’s olive pit home there is a very small hamster wheel in which he runs in perpetuity, whilst furiously shredding newspapers and dictating his opinions to his put-upon secretary who is a bee
That's one of the most romantic things I've ever heard.
what can I say…………………
Mind if I draw him in his Whig days? @antebellumite
hey remember when george mason renamed their law school the Antonin Scalia School of Law and then had to change it to the Antonin Scalia Law School because they realized their new acronym spelled asshole

Three years ago, before I got into this, I would have never imagined that the Antebellum-era fandom would have such a tiny community
"Henry Clay still keeps in the City, visiting & being visited, greeted everywhere with éclat. I suspect this to be a tour of electioneering & am sorry for it, being convinced that much & deservedly as he is admired, he cannot be elected to the Presidency. Yesterday he visited the Girard College, shaking hands with all the boys - one of the urchins making him a set speech, to which he replied. The day before, he met 6,000 Ladies in the Great Hall of the museum, young & old eager to catch his hand & e'en his lip. No Sovereign could desire greater adulation. Hours were spent by these ardent females, coming & going from the audience chambers & cart loads of bouquets showered on the Statesman. All these doings seem rather out of place, at a time when the country is clothed with sackcloth & the unburied corpse of his old friend & public fellow labourer, John Quincy Adams, is by order of Congress moving to its last resting place. I cannot avoid indulging the thought that Henry Clay would have gained quite as much of the affections of his countrymen had he gone to Washington & been seen in the House of Mourning, rather than the Saloons of rejoicing & this I say without approving the entire political course of the deceased great man. H. Clay has, as a politician, pursued a course more to my liking.
I'm obsessed with the part about JQA, the contrast is insane.
I couldn't help it... Some biographers (like Unger, clearly a shipper of Quinclay) claimed that HC tearfully held JQA’s hand affectionately as he was dying; while others (like Heidler, who clearly dislikes this ship) said HC went straight to join a celebration parade right after JQA’s death, showing how cold and heartless he was From this, it seems HC had no affection for JQA at all
You draw JQA quite often so maybe you could draw my second favorite, William H. Seward?
OK.
“Why is Webster a frog🐸? what he himself said⬇️
Wait a second, H.C. was already dead by this point, right? How can you still claim something like that…😂⬇️
