I may be partial because of what the color "RED" means to so many of our children, but the New Orleans Mercedes-Benz is so...................... Beautifully Inspiring the "Lights Turn Red" in recognition of October Dyslexia Awareness Month for our Children! This year will be our 4th year Sunday October 20th, 2019 Ceremony 6:15-7:15 (It's a short ceremony our Children have school Monday!) Our dyslexic children that attend will receive a Certificate of Recognition "Kids with Dyslexia" for courage and tenacity they show the world everyday 24/7! I didn't discover I was dyslexic until I was 50 Years Old (63 Now!) When I realized what that truly meant a whole new world opened up to me.I knew that I could not let another child grow up not knowing! So I wrote a song called "Billy" based loosely on my own experiences growing up not knowing. Billy was my imaginary friend that could do all the things I thought I couldn't do! So now I share Billy with children that are struggling or have found their own path so started the Billy's Quest Heroes Club.  We have Billy's Quest Hero's from around the world! Three published authors, Dee from Nigeria that help start a learning center for dyslexic children and she is only getting started expect amazing things to come!.Scott a young man that was told he was hopeless in his early years of school that graduated with honors, now has had TWO paid internships with NASA; Not to mention a Full Ride Scholarship to Purdue! Each Billy's Quest Hero is very important to me, but just too many to list here the list just goes on and on. This is an excerpt from "Why Are Only Our Children Held Accountable?" http://projecttuitionreimbursement.com I love college football but, again it's become big business at our Colleges and Universities depending on the sport less than 2% and more realistically less than 1% will even have the chance to become professionals! College athletes greatly overestimate their chances of playing professionally. Why not pay the players a percentage of the huge profits generated along with a personal mentor to help invest their money while in college.Also the athletes that do make it to the pros with the multi-million signing bonus should give back say 10% of their bonus money to a fund set up for this purpose remember their teammates played an important role in few that do make it to the pros.This is a small price to pay, because college sports have allow the 1% or possibly 2% this once in a life time opportunity.Think about these student athletes being able to come out of college with a degree and the seed money to start their own business hopefully back in their own community. Now this is an investment in the future of our children and a true stimulus program to help our great country economy start to prosper again especially in our poorer community. I know this would be very difficult, but we just need a couple of schools to step up a then set up a "Pilot Program" first and say this is the right thing to do for children. Our inner cities are crumbing before our very eyes.Think about the farmer's son football ability what that would mean to be able to start his own farm, or whatever his dream may be The list just goes on and on...... We have allowed our Colleges and Universities to make $Millions...some looking at $Billions in Television contracts. Our children have got to come 1st.......not the huge profits.... when are we as a nation going to demand this?

There is an elephant in the room...so many including ME at one time!.... blamed our CHILDREN and OUR TEACHERS ...Yes there a small percentage of blame to be placed there, but most blame falls on our elected officials that for starters have allowed $750 BILLION Educational Publishing Industry that destroys our Children self-esteem, their pride, question their own intelligence and this just for starters the damage this industry has done!. Does anybody Remember President Eisenhower's farewell address warning us about the military complex?This this is far worse starts at the very core of our great country our children! THIS IS Why I am so passionate about all children being able to read and comprehend what they read ....again this can be done with both the eyes,the ears or a combination of both! We should All be MAD as HELL!... this is allowed to happen in the richest and technologically advanced country the world has ever known! It is estimated that more than $2 BILLON is spent each year on students who repeat a grade because they have reading problems? AND...This is just the tip of the iceberg!
