We had been very fortunate with location options. To be honest, there were too many. Across the states and especially in the southeast there is an incredible amount of abandoned buildings, streets, houses, broken bridges, you name it. Not to mention shooting over winter when everything looks even more like death, really helps you paint the dystopian image. Having a color pallet and references before shooting, before post was pretty important to @_seangloria, @ajlcutz , and myself. Colors provoke feelings and emotions, they can help build a world, and even influence an audience to feel a certain way about characters. During production and even post you may sway from your original designs a little bit, but for the most part it’s great to have this part of the road mapped out as well. At the type of our film our lead, Jason (portrayed by @haitianmarvofficial ) walks to the edge of a torn away bridge. When I had been writing I went to locations (and scouted others) that I knew had to premier in our film. I even went to, on the street is referred to as “Bridge to Nowhere”, paid the homeless in beer, and walked out the scene as I dreamed it might go. I made my notes, then went home to write them into the script. When I presented my thoughts with my co-pilot @_seangloria he agreed it would be cool. We added to the scout list to walk through with the team. This is when our editor and visual effects guy @ajlcutz and Cinematagrapher @daniel.filmmaking got to witness the space and basically let’s us know what was possible and if we could do it. Have the vision. Write, storyboard, and rely on your crew to deliver or not if the budget won’t allow. We needed to replace the sky, build a new Scott over look, with birds and smoke, and fog, and a lot. @beedamun got a nice write up in @hollywoodreporter Still such a fucking shame. 51, but when talking to him about life, I’d swear we were the same age. Even how we met is kinda a funny story. It’s a story not for Instagram. Reach out to people when you get that gut feeling to do so. There’s something in the energy around, pushing us to do or not to do things. When I ignore thus it comes with regret. I had this same feeling when my little brother died. I had the feeling we needed to talk about things weeks before, but I didn’t call. Figured the feelings didn’t matter and we’d just catch up when I came to visit again. Rest well Peter. So I’ve had a hard time focusing lately, and friend of mine @loveofamom214 suggested something outside of caffeinated coffee route. “Genius drops” or what I’d like to call “focus drops, from @joyspringvitamins Now, “technically” these are meant for kids, but they said adults can use them. Like many things, our health is taken more serious as children, but when we’re adults we stop taking care of ourselves. I’m always looking for stuff to keep me healthy , and now currently to stay focus. So far this seems to be helping, or maybe because it’s that I’ve been getting better sleep and more water. Or maybe all of the above? Haha anyway. They’ve asked me to share my experience.
