I have combined my favourite symbols in this new sculpture, skull and wax dripping effect. I used gold because I like the irony that a gold skull suggests. This sculpture was conceived during the lockdown in Italy . I was so moved and inspired by the courageous work of the critical care doctors and nurses treating Covid-19 patients.
Due to strict travel restrictions I was unable to get to my studio in Pietrasanta so I sketched this and started work as soon as lock down was lifted.

I was gratified to see an article on my use of medical tools in my sculptures especially syringes and more recently test tubes. The Covid-19 virus has focused attention on the tremendous challenges facing medical staff who are risking their lives to save others.

Love Potion is my latest creation This heart is created with test tubes filled with a red liquid creating the illusion of a second heart within a heart.
Life goes on…. Just finished a new sculpture with intravenous butterfly needles and tubes which are often used in drawing blood. I feel right at home in my new studio in Pietrasanta and can't wait to get started on new work.
I see beauty in the banal Looking at these alluring colours and one can easily forget that these are actually medical instruments used to administer life saving drips or donate blood. I love examining these banal objects and seeing how I can give them a second lease of life. Butterfly needles and tubes
The Tree of Life is an interpretation of the mythical using the practical from artist Anthony Moman The Tree symbolizes health and optimism for a brighter future. I have used the syringes because they are often used in drawing blood or delivering iv medicines and are crucial to a patient's survival.
