No bracelet. Still, didn’t mean Wash could trust him. “Wash,” he replied plainly. He still wasn’t sure what to make of this John character. Intimidating, to be sure, but he had no idea what he could want to talk with him about. “So, if you’re not roping me into a useless real estate investment, what do you want with me?” He raised a brow. “I’m just a harmless little gamer, after all.”
“I know who you are,” John said ruggedly, his focus more so on those in the coffee shop than Wash himself. John had a way about him to have eyes all over the place, and that wasn’t to say they were all his. There were plenty of others who kept tabs too, and most of the time everyone doing they spying were usually somehow partnered into the same organization. What John stood for? Sometimes he wasn’t sure. All that was certain was he was hungry for one thing in this town; power. And he would do anything to get his hands on it or around its neck.
“I want to talk to you about a group of people with like minds,” he again nodded to the others bare arm. “There’s a lot more of us than you think, kid. We still need all the help we can get.”
A recruiter for that so-called resistance group he'd been hearing about, then. Sure, Wash had considered joining their cause, but no matter how outspoken he was about detesting the vampires in charge, he wasn't sure he was up to the task of joining an actual group to do something about it. "Yeah, I've heard the pep talks before, chief." He lifted his cup to his lips, taking a drink of the bitter coffee.
"Not sure if you've noticed, but a heck of a lot of naked wrists wind up missing. So excuse me if I'm not jumping for joy at the prospect of sticking my neck out further than it already is."
