what do you like the most about your essay? 

What I like most about my essay is the effort. I think it is well laid out and organized, and it slowly brings the reader into the whole purpose of the analysis. It starts off giving them background on the content creator and the method I used. I also include visuals so that they can get a better understanding, too. Then end off with data and if my hypothesis is correct or not.

Flow

It sounds like your essay has good flow and easily guides the reader through your paper. I may or may not have gone into to much detail about the background and establishing the audience. Once I had completed all my research I wish I would have found 3 accounts that had a more similar target audience group. I learned that their are niche markets within an audience and that affected my results. This is why I had to spend the additional time explaining the nuances between the subgroups within my topic.

what assignment questions do you have that will help you complete the assignment successfully? 

I'm not sure if the Week Overview 3 and 4 Tumblr posts and the Week 4 overview Tumblr posts on Module 5 are the same or not.

I noticed this last week as it included this weeks information. I have been trying to work on things as early as I can to get them done ASAP. There are a few Tumblr assignments that have multiple weeks listed also.

where will you adjust your essay to strengthen your point? 

I feel like I need to add more design elements so that when people read my assignment it is easier for them to make connections through visuals.

Good point!

I noticed a few other students had some really amazing design elements such as background colors and different types of graphs in their essays when we posted the peer feedback posts. After I saw them, I added several more images to my paper to make it more engaging. What type of design elements are you thinking of adding to your essay?

What do you like most about your learning?

I have greatly enjoyed the content from this class, although at times I have been overwhelmed with the face pace of our summer session while balancing school/work/family. Dr. P., has been great to work with and she has been an amazing resource, so that's the first point I want to make. A good professor really makes a difference! Second, I like that the information I gained can be used daily. From composing emails to creating social media content I am looking forward to watching the new skills blossom.

Where will you adjust your essay to strengthen your point

I will make more connections between the data and the conclusion. By adding this information the conclusion should be easier to understand. The result will be a conclusion which can mitigate potential questions, while supporting my response to the hypothesis and research question.

Helps me get creative

Drafting without distraction

I put my ear buds in and turn on classical music because there are no words. It allows me to melt away into my thoughts and just throw words on paper. I find that music with words distracts me. I also set a timer for 45 minutes and get up to stretch my legs for 10 minutes.

Do you think this is a good audience analysis for my second artist? The main point of my essay is to say that process videos of artists are more effective than image posts on Instagram. For this audience analysis, I am trying to give a basic understanding as to why people would be interested in her content.

Audience Feedback

The audience you define sounds broad, is there a way to narrow down the audience? Just to clarify, with no background information, does the page focus on fashion design or contemporary art? These two are both listed as potential audience members, yet each would represent a niche group within the genre of art. Again I am only going off limited information and these could be accurate, but I am not familiar with the content creator. A second point would be defining the audiences knowledge base. In one sentence you say not much education needed and the next it reads a basic understanding of tools used. Is there a way to give an education level such as advanced beginner? I hope this helps and good luck with your final paper.

Does this graph appear to be accurate or should I set the left column at zero? Right now it starts at 75%, because the likes are that much "more" compared to the other content types. It seems like starting it at zero would make it almost impossible to see the small amounts of shares at the tops of the info and picture columns. #writ318mu #week4

Graph review

I played around with a few graphs like this as well. I also had 3 categories, each with likes shares and comments. In the end I decided to go with a chart that illustrated these differently. From my perspective I am a little confused as to what the percentages represent, for example is DIY 100% or is it 12%? I have to admit, I went with 3 charts to make it as easy as possible to understand. You could also use a graph with 3 bars for each type of content also. I hope this helps and good luck

Peer Review Request 1

This is the first piece of my assignment that I would like feedback on. This is the section where I introduced each off the creators I collected data and analysis from. For each of the three creators, I decided to do a little paragraph about who they are and what they focus on, so readers can see that there are similarities and differences between the three creators. I also then added a bulleted list of characteristics for each of the creator's to just sum everything up. What I would like to hear from peers is if this is a good way to go about introducing the creators, or if there is a better way I should do it. Should it be all paragraph, smaller paragraph and more bullet points, a complete different way, or just leave as is. Thank you guys!

I like that you added the bullet points, this is a good way of adding design to the otherwise straight forward essay. I also enjoyed the picture which adds a little glimpse of the type of posts the creator is posting. After reading your question I am going to review the section where I introduce the content creators I am using also. Side note, I think the black background is a welcomed change.

The audience is willing to engage with several types of content, but the content will dictate to what extent. Content creators that offer different types of content can satisfy the needs of the community by posting different types of material. Consistent content creation to a specific niche audience can be a more productive strategy if applied correctly.

Peer Feedback Post 2

Does this paragraph clearly define my method?

Data was collected on May 28, 2026, at 9:00pm. The content used for data collection was a minimum of two weeks old to allow for ample engagement by the audience. From each account the total number of followers, how many posts were created since the creator started posting along with 35 consecutive posts starting two weeks prior. From the 35 consecutive posts additional information was taken, the date posted, if the content was a review of bourbon, a carousel of images or if the content was comedy related. Two additional columns included if the content was a video or still image. Lastly the likes and comments for each post along with the date the data collected was documented. Additional information collected from each page included the total number of followers and the total number of posts the creator has shared. The information was loaded into an excel sheet with an image of the content to ensure the corresponding information matched. Once the data was added for each of the following columns the rows were added to observe consistency in these categories

Does this define my audience well?

The defining features of the community are those with share an affinity for bourbon. Bourbon readers are expected to know jargon and acronyms related to different types of bottles, releases and drinking spirits for example BiB means bottle in bond or neat which means no added ice or water. Prized bottles have there own acronyms as well such as PVW for Pappy Van Winkle. Content creators will often use these terms. The community is also expected to know about the legal requirements of the corresponding labels like a BiB. A BiB is at least 4 years old and will be 100 proof by law, it cannot be released at 99 or 101, not even 100.5, it must be 100 proof by law. There is also a great deal of history behind the distilleries and how many of them survived prohibition and even Covid 19. References are often made to these time periods and creators talk about the current state of production and sales as it relates to them. Some fun that the community knows is that all bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon.

Insider Information

The analysis practice was helpful to keep my assumptions in check. Most of my college writing has been by using only words in APA format. Learning to analyze data by looking at audience engagement with likes, comments, and shares is helping me to see that data is more than graphs and charts. Noticing the number of likes helps me to think more about why the user valued the content enough to like it and value it even more to comment or share. This helps to learn what the users value (analysis) so more of the same can be done for content creation in the future. It has actually been fun to think of this new knowledge as insider information! #writ318mu #week3

Reflecting on information

Coming into this class my writing experience was also limited to APA papers for nursing school. I spent ZERO time reflecting on the relationship of content creation to the audience. I started an Instagram account that focuses on a hobby but I put little thought into data analysis. Just post things that I like that relate to the hobby. Something that Dr. P wrote to me was "think of a like as a person, not a user". That has stayed with me over the passed few weeks. The saying has helped me reframe how I look at data from a click to a person. I think of a click as an emotional reaction that generates engagement. Changing how I looked at the audience has helped me reflect on the data with new perspective.

Data Analysis

What I learned about the data analysis from Module 2 project was that when picking the data to collect and them chart is very important. Then having the visual data image was just as important and the explanation. I went through each chart option for my visual that allowed me to understand easily what I was trying to convey. So that lead to me going back to the post and truly think about what was the drawing point of the site first, then about the post itself. I asked myself what made the post stand out, or created a point of engagement. I was like a rabbit hole that start with one question that lead to two more. It is funny that I said rabbit hole because as I write this I have a student that is talking about her pet rabbit so it felt fitting. So anyway, I needed to look at what I felt could be analysis equal or better said comparable over the post. It is interesting to see the data collected with 3 different sites.

The rabbit hole

I will admit that I can spend as much time searching for the perfect meme or chart or color or font etc. BUT I think it's really important because that piece of the design is what makes the content stand out. I think a great image improves UX and a colorful graph will support your architecture and improve engagement. It is so easy to go down the rabbit hole, but i also think some of this is time well spent. I have also caught myself spending too much time on picking colors and had to stop myself so there's that too...

More than Numbers

The most important thing I learned is that I was mostly only reporting data, not analyzing. Analysis goes beyond the numbers and descriptions. I learned I need to really think through what the user experience is, who the users are, why the content creator made choices based on the data, etc. Assignment feedback was super helpful and I feel more confident in doing analysis for the Content Analysis Project. Glad I was not alone

I did the same thing, and I also gained a great deal from the feedback. I was just reporting what the numbers told me but I did not draw the connection between the content and the results. I also took the data and created bar graphs that supported the data and connected the information. I think it helped me also, becuase i was forced to reflect on their relationship.
