Depression and Resentment,
They have a habit of going hand in hand. You can't be depressed without harboring resentment for someone or something, they're fickle that way. They creep up onto you without anyone noticing, and before you realize it, you're drowning. It's consumed your every waking thought, and plagues you in your subconscious. Dragging you down knowing the comfort you find within its embrace is intoxicating. It's easier to sleep than it is to live after all, familiarity brings comfort, but it leaves you stagnant in growth.
Depression relishes in that stagnation as it has commitment issues, it proves that you still need it. There, at the bottom of the well in your mind is where Resentment is born. Slowly drinking in the cold water as the rope around your legs pull you down.
Here's a much older poem from highschool, a bit political maybe but if you don't like it keep scrolling it's that simple :3

Same sex marriage, love, pride,
We are the same.
You are human, I am human.
We breathe the same air, drink the same water.
Yet only one of us is able to shine,
Why?
Love,
Is it how much you give, or how much you take? Is it measured in tears rinsed in regret or promises never fulfilled? The smoke drying your eyes or the whispers in the night.
To love someone is to give yourself, or is it to sacrifice your soul?
Set me on fire, set them on fire. To burn into oblivion until only ashes remain. Hide your secrets in their ribcage and crawl into the ground.
Six feet under is where it resides, consuming anything and everything provided. Pour gasoline on it and ignite the match before running away like nothing happened. Leave me in this desolate house of immortality to rot and drown. Cut the cord and let me fall, don't run little bird trapped in a cage where your heart crashes onto the shore to dehydrate.
Get me out of this hole so lovingly dug, a coffin lain in its grave. Sorrows at the end of a bottle the only thoughts I have truly written on this page.
Shackles on emotions too afraid to speak, demons come out to play as if it meant nothing.
Set me on fire and let me drown.
Set me on fire before you lower my casket into the ground.
