wait actually, so many of us (social circle) are interested in moving to washington. it’s either contagion hype or a strategized exodus, huh. guess the proof is in the 1-2 year planning and follow through process. crazy.
but there are SO MANY pagan events and specifically ESOTERIC events I found in the area. our friends that have already (recently) moved really love it. needing to learn a new climate is almost more daunting than adapting to a new job market in the event i decided to go and couldn’t work remote, keeping my current job.
honestly, i just think letting my mind fixate at its current frazzled speeds on this daydream hypothetical is a nice break from what it has been fixated on since march. i cannot wait to move into my room at my friend’s. it’s small but i’ll be saving so much!
talking about moving to washington state is one thing, leaving the midwest is another. i love this ancient basin turned prairies and wetlands and woods and forest and bluffs and caves where the dirt is a sad kind of desert. haunted by what’s built on it, but that’s just everywhere anymore? not to mention i’d have to fly home for family “christmas” at least every other year and flying is a little nerve wracking. talk about needing to reduce possessions. i’m not paying to move all that? across the country?? i mean… my books alone pfft.
mom said i should look into oregon while i’m at it.
When the CEO of the company that didn't turn away Nazi business says "this isn't going to work" you know it's bad.
studying history is like. here's to another beautiful day of not being pregnant and of having no obligation to ever be. thank you women who fight for abortion and contraception and independance from men for another beautiful day of not being pregnant and of having no obligation to ever be

“For example, if you’re trying to convince people to boycott a segregated store, your object is to convince them that boycotting the store will have a strategic effect, not that desegregation is morally important. For whatever reason, on a cognitive level human beings have a really hard time with this. Smucker cites an example of a Lefty roleplaying session where people were tasked with selling an action to people who agreed with them on principle but didn’t see the strategic merit of the action. Surprisingly, the sellers couldn’t make the conceptual switch to sell strategic merit: instead, they doubled down on THIS ISSUE IS IMPORTANT — even though it had been stressed to them that the people they were selling to bought into the importance of the issue. People react poorly to “this is important, so do WHATEVER I SAY”; they want to be convinced that what you’re proposing will work.”

Also from above:
“Bob Wing, a grassroots organizer, explains this nicely: “If winning feels impossible, then righteousness can seem like the next best thing.” But righteousness is not conducive to getting normies to join your team if your team cannot demonstrate ability to, at least sometimes, win. Nor does righteousness help you make real inroads with regular people.”
Somewhat related, my favorite comic strip of all time:
favorite things about festivals. time become a two unit thing, light and dark time. news no longer exists, if the world ended while i was at a festival i’d only find out by suffering the shockwave mid trip induced doodle and conversation. you can be any emotion and people are happy you’re alive to hear whatever load ass shit is happening. the best wristband souvenirs. bartering and trading in the most whimsical and practical ways, like we could be living moneyless tomorrow if we all liked trinkets and acts of service a little bit more as a society. last but not least, the way everyone stops giving a fuck and we just say ‘for this event in time we’re friends - how can i help you have a good time?’ even when it’s people ya don’t like much.

moving in with some friends soon, just keep thinking. how often have i lived with people who actually wanted me around? not a burden, not an obligation, not an old desire they’re to scared to admit has died, just a wanted presence. just welcomed for being me and all that comes with it.
