Photoshoot of the Week: Hair Couture
This was a fun and interesting shoot. It was striking, and seemed like a less insane follow up to the moving wigs from Cycle 7 (we get the return of Weavin' Steven!). Some of the hair outfits were better than the others, but I think this shoot produced some of the most striking shoots of the cycle.
Jessica-I think it is a little stiff, but she looks like a fairy that is about to fly away which is pretty neat because jump shots can look pretty awkward. Maybe if she would have squinted her eyes a little more she would look less serious and less stiff.
Raina- I agree with Nigel, I love the contrast of her skin with the hair. The fact that she has that composure mid-leap is pretty incredible. I love her jawline and shoulders, and that coat was one of the best pieces and she.is.werking.it.
Alasia- The pose is so regal and I love the blonde in the train and how she is whipping it.I love the positioning of her feet too. I wish her face was a little more serene and not as serious. I just wish she would have tried more in her film because it makes the viewer think less of the shot because we know she could've worked it more in her film, but the end shot is still great.
Anslee- If Anslee could have just worked her body more she could have been a steller model. Her face is so masculine and striking, but the positioning of her body always looks uncomturfable (with the exception of her first shot). The hands and feet are awkward and unfirtunatly whoever said her dress looked like it was made out of pubes was totally right. It was the right decision to eliminate her.
Krista- This shot COMPLETELY deserved first call-out! Did you see her porformance on set, holy crap that was one of the most impressive I've ever seen. I would have LOVED to be able to go through that film and see all the other shots. The legs, the arms, the slight tilt, it's all so statuesque. And HER FACE.....FIERCE!
Aleandra- I think Alexandra's dress was the most uninspired. Her legs are okay, but her arms are just wierd (but actually graceful). Her face is great, but it was so awkward watching Alexandra struggle through this shoot. Still, Alexandra's worst is better than some models' best.
Angelea- I love how different and unique her shot is. Angelea really can transform. Look at the structure and expression on her face, and the movement is awesome. She had the weirdest outfit of the day, but totally turned it out. I laughed so much at how she described how awful the glue smelt. <3 Angelea
An shoot with a lot of stong and divers results. Even the weakest shots in this shoot were still interesting, I don't think any were horrible. Although I can only imagine how angry some people may have been with all that hair just going for a dress. What happened to the outfits afterwards too? I hope they didn't get thrown out. Will hair fasion be normal one day? I believe this shoot to be a testament to how mucht the fashion industry has grown. I can't imagine this shoot happening in cycle 1, and if it did I don't think the outfits would have been as whimsical either. Fashion is ever changing and I hope the shoots in cycle 18 are awesome.
