超高校級のギャル
izuru
i don’t remember the context surrounding the episode but remember that one time in wizards of waverly place when some guy is eating cheetos for the first time and he’s like how do i get this orange stuff off my hands and the girl is like you’re supposed to eat it and he does and he’s like “wow this is really good” that’s izuru and chiaki
i haven’t talked about it on here yet but i’m very happy with hajime’s swimsuit pictures bc he ended up looking a lot like me which felt very validating 👍 hajime hinata pre t legend
man imagine if you were a danganronpa character and you were trying to get into hopes peak so you were focusing on this one skill your whole life and you’re super good at it and one day you get a letter in the mail and you open it and it says you have been accepted into hopes peak as the ultimate lucky student
i often see people say that izuru wouldn’t care about gender, or think that it’s boring, and i really disagree with that because izuru is a character who was forced into an identity that wasn’t his own. when you look into his tdp events, it’s pretty obvious that while izuru does introduce himself as izuru kamukura, he doesn’t identify with the name, always saying “i am called izuru kamukura” instead of “i am” and viewing himself as a tool for hopes peak (and by extension hope itself) instead of his own person. i feel like gender would be a really great way for izuru to reclaim his identity, not just something that he thinks is “boring”.
I could see it being an arc of some kind for him. Gender in a way only exists as it does because of societal rules, and the society he lives in does not have a lot of those gender norms, so I don't think he'd really know how to figure out a gender. (Plus, I don't know if there was a gender studies Ultimate talent in his juice, but it seems unlikely)
yeah exactly it would be super interesting to see how he would view and experience gender as someone with the experiences he had, and how he would interact with people who lived before the tragedy and how they view gender as well
genuinely don’t know what to say to people who don’t realize that izuru is supposed to be a representation of depression personified. this is some guy who’s too depressed to cut his hair or change out of his high school uniform after like 5 years

i really like exploring izuru’s gender specifically because i feel like it would be really important to him to explore his own identity after the kamukura project where he literally had his autonomy stripped of him and was forced into an identity that he does not identify with (see: izuru never introduces himself as “i am izuru kamukura” and always says “i am called izuru kamukura”. there are other examples if you look for them but i feel like that’s a good one). like as he begins to recover from his trauma of being on the project and begins to think of himself as more of a human being and less as a tool i think that he would take more interest in his own identity and not the one that was forced onto him. i think that it would take a lot of effort but izuru would eventually realize that he’s a complex human being who cannot be put into the boxes that other people try to fit him into and that his identity is a personal thing that no one can control.
ryoko needs to be in ultimate summer camp so that she can have interactions with kyoko please please please please please
ryoko is a character who i appreciate who deserved way better than to be in dr0 i think her thing about literally having everything to do with what is going on around her while simultaneously trying to ignore it and insist that it has nothing to do with her is very interesting when you think about how kyoko is literally the exact opposite of her. as well as their personalities being opposites of each other and both having talents that are kind of similar obviously not exactly the same but analyst and detective kind of go hand in hand. this was definitely on purpose but ryoko was written so poorly that i know a lot of people didn’t pay attention to her parts or skipped them which is why people don’t really make this connection or try to pick up on interesting details about her. i really think it’s interesting though and i think she has a lot of potential as a character. i wish she was written by someone else lol.
very very very interested in ryoko otonashi currently i like her very much. it’s extremely hard to like read and get through dr0 bc of how it’s written but i’m getting through it. i really like her bc it’s like. she is supposed to parallel makoto and kyoko specifically kyoko. she is exactly like kyoko as in she is the opposite of her in every way which i find to be really interesting. it’s kind of hard to pick up on unless you’re like specifically looking into it in order to find interesting character things but it’s there and i appreciate her. i’ll talk about her more when i’m actually done but i think she is very interesting and deserved to be written by literally anyone else other than who actually wrote her
