The thing about making new friends over 30 (or in adulthood in general), is that I understand that not everyone is going to be a BFF. Sometimes a friend is in our life for a specific reason - a work out buddy, a listener, a going out friend. It  makes life richer and wider. And sometimes, they do turn into all-encompassing best friends. My biggest thing now is protecting my energy and space when I meet new people. I’ve never had much tolerance for drama and bullshit and at 30 my tolerance hit an all-time low thresh hold, lol. As long as the person is bringing good energy – we can make our way to becoming friends.
