does Florida Kim stay Florida Kim knowing US prosecutors gave a man 86 years for white-collar crimes because the king pin they wanted to charge went out in a blaze of gunfire? How long should a man who confessed his heart out to his role in that criminal enterprise atone for what ultimately amounts to money laundering

Does she flagellate herself for 86 years or does she realize the US government's obsession with corporal punishment also applies in this situation too? The clue to me is the white lie she tells to see Jimmy again in prison. She is not his lawyer; but she would like to be because a sentence of 86 years with no murder, no first degree bodily harm seems egregious and retaliatory when we look at what Jimmy actually confessed to. When you consider prosecutors were okay with Saul's seven years until he torpedoes that because Kim confessed her role in an unsolved crime

What kind of woman Florida Kim is ultimately rests on whether you believe she believes Jimmy was sincere in the courtroom or if he was play-acting for sympathy yet again imo

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I think Kim is well-appreciated as a complex character in her own right and not just as jimmy's love interest or an accessory to jimmy's story, not just on tumblr but in the fandom at large (although tbh I don't interact with fandoms anywhere else anymore except for occasionally looking on reddit, so I wouldn't really know lol). Like, everyone falls in love with Kim, as they should! And she seems very resilient to mischaracterization in a way that most characters aren't - again this is probably because I have curated my fandom experience so maybe there are wildly OOC Kim takes out there, but for the most part when I see people talking about Kim, they're talking about a character I recognize.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

I agree with Rhea that Kim and Jimmy get back together. They get married again, as a matter of fact! And Jimmy gets out of jail after a decade or so, and they live happily ever after, SO THERE.

And I know you didn't ask me about what fandom does/did that I didn't like, but I'm going to answer that one anyway. Because honestly I find it a little crazy-making talking about her crimes as if it's anywhere near the same league as the crimes of jimmy, walt, jesse, mike, gus, etc. Admittedly what she did was bad, but the way people went on and on and ON about how she MUST atone for the shockingly evil, morally reprehensible, borderline unforgivable crime for playing funny mean pranks on her asshole ex-boss that damaged his professional reputation (even though he routinely humiliated her and fucked with her professional reputation). Because as we all know, there is nothing more precious and sacred than rich white men's professional reputations. Lalo appearing out of nowhere to kill him wasn't something Kim could have realistically foreseen. People were acting like she pulled the trigger herself. Like, come on.

The worst part of what she did was lie about what happened to Howard. And that was deeply terrible, and she did need to atone for that. But now she has, and I don't think she needs to suffer for the rest of eternity over it

@anychairinthisplace - I read this over and realized that I became all of a sudden very defensive and it's because I imagined a hypothetical person reading my headcanon about the mcwexler happy ending and thinking "as IF someone as wicked as she deserves a happy ending!" I know y'all are all on top of the Lalo/Kim parallels already but I just find it so funny that she was like, "you have no one" and it was so literally true that it destroyed everything for him. And she was also like "I am going to create a scam that is so elaborate and multipronged for maximum enrichment of Jimmy in his enclosure" but she didn't adequately account for the loose end of Howard himself, which Lalo neatly cleaned up for her. The parallel isn't that they are equally ruthless or culpable, it's that they're in over their heads on a single-minded quest, and they're not used to being out of their depth. And also, they are there for each other.

Okay so obviously, the lawyers are all wizards. Because the Law is like the Weave - it is the force that underlies everything, and if you learn the right words and rituals, you can manipulate it.

Subclasses:

Kim - school of illusion. she's good at making things seem to be other than they are (for example, huell's case)

Howard - school of abjuration. focus on holding down the fort, not very adventurous

Chuck - school of divination because he thinks he can see the future

Jimmy, however, is NOT just a wizard. He's a multiclass bard/wizard, because all his attacks are charisma based. As a wizard, he follows the school of evocation (for the lightning that shoots out of his fingertips)

Cartel side - like, obviously a lot of the cartel guys are going to be rogues, but I think it would be fun if they were also all warlocks, because they've made a dark pact with the cartel for power. Eladio is their fiendish patron.

Nacho and Lalo are both warlock/rogues. Like they are so CLASSIC rogue with their stealth based attacks and preference for slithering around and tricking people before resorting to violence. Nacho is a thief, Lalo's an assassin (although I just found out patch 8 is going to have a new subclass of swashbuckler - sounds like Lalo to me!)

Tuco is a warlock/barbarian, subclass berserker. The twins are warlock/fighters, subclass eldritch knights.

Gus is a warlock/wizard, because he would want a source of magic that isn't Eladio-based. He follows the school of necromancy.

Mike is a broken oath paladin, which I think is self explanatory

Kim brushed his hair out of his eyes back then, too. Carefully, so she didn’t wake him and so he wouldn’t notice her doing it. She still didn’t understand what made her want it, back then.

“Now you listen to me,” Kim heard from the TV when she finally made up her mind and poked Jimmy in the chest until he woke up.

“I don't want any plastics and I don't want any ground floors. And I don't want to get married ever to anyone. You understand that? I want to do what I want to do.” Jimmy blinked his eyes open and glanced up at her, mumbling something about being sorry for falling asleep before his eyes settled back on the TV. Kim reached her hand out and hooked her finger around his jaw, and she tilted his head back towards her.

backstory is that i was feeling some sort of way about those particular lines in “it’s a wonderful life” and j&k getting married. also you should know that this draft is still in comic sans because that *does* actually make it easier for my brain to write sometimes lmao.
