I read a lot of polyfic and I've noticed an interesting tendency to not really let go of monogamous ideas of a couple as a unit, and of there being 1 perfect relationship out there for everybody, so they try to write polycules as one single relationship where everyone has the same level of sexual and romantic attraction to each other, interrupted maybe by 1 or 2 primary relationships (always two-person, even though 3+ person primary relationships aren't uncommon). Ok normal part of the post over beatleslash time. It's interesting to me in polybugs particularly because I genuinely cannot see a scenario where J+P+G+R wouldn't have ridiculously varied and everchanging feelings about each other... J+P is not P+G is not G+R is not R+J. Idk. I think polyamorous relationships are so interesting and I wish people didn't see them as monogamy with more people
