The last thing I remember was…

Sounds. Sounds were everywhere. Screaming, fear, panic. A rift opened in the room, movement, a blur of blond hair being pushed aside. Protect, you must protect them. You must protect her.Darkness, all around you, was pure darkness, the void, you were inbetween places, but not nowhere, you were stuck, falling, bust standing still. It went on for centuries yet it was over within seconds, another rift opened up.

I'm falling….. falling..

When I came to, all I heard was distant chattering, the air felt like it had a slight chill. I was laying down on.. what feels like stone? Cement maybe, I move slightly and the chatter stops, next thing I hear are 1.. no 2 pairs of feet coming in my direction. *not good, stay on guard* I thought to myself, pretending to still be out cold as the voices drew near.

"Mmmh.. I could have sworn I saw them moving just now.." a young feminine sounding voice spoke, feeling someone come close to me, I stayed still. "Maybe It was just an illusion, I did tell you that those mushrooms were not cataloged in my rune work, jina" a more older, robotic yet still feminine voice offered. Feeling the face of whoever was in front of me drawing ever closer I panicked *stop stop stop stoP STOP GO AWAY NO TOUCH* I screamed in my head so loud you would think the people in front of me could almost hear it... almost. "Mm.. they did look perfectly edible and i made sure to check with reth before eating them" the person right in front of my face, who i presumed to be *jina* said to the person? Next to her.

As the young scientist examined the human for the 5th time that morning she grew worried, what if the human would never wake up? What if they were hurt? Are they breathing? ARE THEY DEA-

Jina felt a slightly cold to the touch robotic hand on her shoulder, she can't help it but worry, humans are meant to be extinct, and yet here comes one falling from the sky in the odd hours of the morning, making everyone freak out and yet it's refusing to move!! Like at all... humans are meant to breathe.. right??

After internally panicking for another few mins jina turned to hekla to ask what she thought was wrong with the limp human before them. Hekla offer her thoughts of the human possibly needing medical attention seeing as they did fall from a great height. Which made said human sweat *oh no, not doctors, i cant let them bring me to a doctor!* the human thought nervously. After listening to the back and forth of the two beings in front of them the human finally decided *fine, if it will make them not bring me to any medical professionals, i guess i can play pretend* they finally thought, before moving slowly to stretch, mimicking normal movement of someone waking up.

The duo halted their debate whether or not to get chayne to watch the human awaken finally. After a moment, Jina looked ecstatic and relieved at the same time.

"OH MY DRAGON! you're finally awake!!" The purple human?... demon?.. in front of me Exclaimed. There were 2 beings here, some kind of robot machinery and a humanoid..... with purpley skin.. welp i have seen weirder things so why not. She looks like she might be from african American descent. "so, did you just... you just fell out of the sky??" the purple human demon in front of me asked. "did i what??" i replied equally as confused sounding as the person in front of me "OH! you must have been unconscious before you got here then! Honestly, I'm so glad you're alive! you weren't breathing or anything so i was getting kinda worried you'd be...dead" the person?? Maybe a girl? they do look very feminine, but so do i, so i dont wanna assume... said kinda awkwardly.. now that im getting a close look they have elf ears... huh

After a slight awkward silence between the three of us they continue "ehm, so, i know that there have been sightings of human reemergence in sacred temples as of late, but you are the first human to immerge here in Kilima! I'm so excited to have our very own resident human! finally I can study you guys up close!" WHOA THERE nuh uh. "pardon me?" I said as i look for possible escape routes around me and find the only way out is past the 2 people in front of me “oh! I'm sorry that sounded bad. I mean since your a human and all we could talk about if you remembered anything from before you came here and about your people, i didnt mean for it to sound like im gonna cut you up and look into your brain or something” the purple elf demon human said in a somewhat jokingly tone while looking a tad bit embarrassed. I just stare at them, debating if i should run while i can *I could overpower the humanoid easily, but I don't know about the robot. It might cause a bit of a scene if i were to fight them and they may have lasers… plus while i cant sense anyone else near by i cant be sure that there truly is no one waiting for ambush me..its best to stay on guard for now* I think to myself. “Right...we'll talk about all that later once you're settled in…” the girl? Says looking away a little embarrassed now, as i go to open my mouth to respond she adds “we should slow down here. Why don't you go take this map and head into town where you can talk to ashura! He's the innkeeper. Hes a very kind guy so im sure he wouldn't mind helping you get settled in.” She reaches out a hand to help me up, i look at it for a moment before getting upon my own.she nervously takes her hand back and looks away sheepishly, blushing while rubbing her arm. “I would help you myself, but I'm working on something here, and I'm THIS close to figuring it out.” She tells me not looking at me. I nod, as I look at her partner, we lock eyes for a moment before I turn away. I go to head toward where I was told to when the girl perks up again, stopping me in my tracks “I'm so sorry, I was so caught off guard and in my own head that I realized I forgot to introduce myself or explain why I'm even here!” she says, looking even more flustered than before. I turn back to tell her it's ok when she adds “the names jina. I'm an apprentice scholar researching these old ruins” she smiles. Jina, that's her name. *good to know* I think to myself. “And this here-” jina motions to her robotic friend “is my research assistant, hekla! Be sure to ask her if you have any questions, "Jina introduced. I nod towards the robot *jina, hekla, im so gonna forget those in the next 2 mins* I complain to myself about my brain's inability to remember names. Jina then turns away and says lastly “well, that's all! I gotta go back to the grind now! See ya!” as she walks off into a corner. Her “assistant” looks at me for a moment longer, before nodding and turning to following the scholar.

I stand there for a moment, taking the place where I'm standing in. It's old, a giant statue of a phoenix is standing in the middle of the large room, lots of rocks and debris are cluttered around, with some vegetation sprouting out here and there. It looks like it's been standing here for hundreds, nay, thousands of years.this place, it feels familiar. I seem to remember a similar room just like this near a university that wasn't far away from where I lived. Maybe they took inspiration from this room and tried to recreate it? *its possible* I think to myself, knowing how humans love to imitate. I then turn away from the giant bird in front of me. Walking out of the room and into a large hallway and eventually, slowly, into the light of the day.

At first, the sun is blinding, all I hear is water, the rushing of water, small drops falling from the rock. Maybe a waterfall? I feel drops of water fall upon me here and there. It smells of water and grass and old rocks and earth. My eyes slowly adjust and I see mountains, fields, rivers and ponds… and lastly what I can make out as a small town, a village even. The area looks… oddly familiar. I turn to see ruins upon ruins, old walls that aren't supposed to be old, old structures that look vaguely like statues and monuments I used to know. *im sure im just… imagining things, im sure everything is fine..* I think to myself. My blue hair slightly waving in the breeze that hits me. I look around for the way to exit and turn to the left. As i walk down the steps of the bridge that leads to the cave i woke up in, i see a small pavillon on the side of the dirt road, i walk closer and look at it in awe *structures like these are getting rarer nowadays* i think to myself as i walk past it and make my way down the path towards the town, i turn to the right when the road splits and walk past what looks like a library on the outside down into the center of the village. There aren't very many buildings, yet it takes me a bit to find where I'm supposed to go.

*find innkeeper, thats what the girl said, but she didnt tell me where i can find said inn or its keeper* I think to myself that I wasn't given more of a direction. The town looks very lush and green, with detailed rustic houses and shops circling a massive structure which i could have sworn i have seen somewhere befor…. It smells of flowers and grass, of wood and paint in one direction and of fresh food in another. I can hear humming, hammering, a slight murmur from people in their little shops, there are birds and bugs and the wind blowing ever so slightly, rustling store signs as the grass dances back and forth. As i stand in the middle of this small town i must admit one thing to myself *I'm lost, aren't I?* I look around again, having already forgotten which direction I had come from, this is when someone approaches me from behind. “Ello there! Are ya new in town?” a bright male voice greets me, i turn to face whoever is behind me only to see… another purple elf demon human thing… is this like some kind of invasive species?? WAS I SENT BACK IN TIME?? AGAIN???? I gotta tell these people to hide before the government finds em, humans aren't supposed to know that there are other life forms out there. They really gotta hide better man…

the strange man in front of me looks at me very expectantly, that's when i realize im actually supposed to answer him “oh!...um.. I was told I fell from the sky.. So probably?” I say quietly the man perks up. Now that I look at him he looks very farmy. Having a sun hat on and an already somewhat graying beard, he looks rather scrawny tho, might just be a fluke so be on guard. “Well ill be, that's what that was, and here i was wondering what all that raucous was last night, first there's a giant beam of light, then people have been murmuring about something falling from the sky and here ya are!” the farm elf demon human says with a derpy grin on his face. This.. caught me off guard.. A beam of light and then me falling from the sky? That's… not good. I must have looked worried cause he added “ah dont worry about it im sure everythin’ will be alright. On that note, im badruu! The farmer around these parts, I'm sure we’ll have some good thymes ahead of us. "At this he laughed and added “have i mentioned that i can do stand up comedy aswell?” with a chuckle, i wait for him to calm down before i ask “could you please tell me where the inn is?” not wanting to stand around and rubbing elbows with strangers any longer than I had to. “Oh, you're looking for the inn? Well it's right over there, can't miss it!” as he points to a big building with an elk?? Or are those muscles?? On it. I nod to him as a thank you and go on in, he calls out behind me “alright, have a GRAPE day!” and hear him laugh at his own jokes once more. As I enter the inn I look around. There's a bar area with a scrawny looking guy behind it.. It's yet another elf guy, this one's pink tho! Glad they have some variety! With what looks like.. Shrimp on his head? I doubt that's the inn's keeper, I look around some more, I see a grand fireplace, some tables to eat at and behind a receptionist desk is another purple elf demon thing… this ones… this ones massive tho, *they really must have come from a different dimension then, huh* I think to myself, not being surprised at the height difference, now firmly believing that this is some sort of hidden away community that the government didn't get to yet. I walk toward the giant man, he's tall, covered in scars, hair tied into a samurai style bun, already graying. He looks at me and smiles warmly.

“Hi, there!” his voice beams and instantly i think *that.. That voice sounds familiar* “It's always good to see a new face in the village. Welcome to Kilima!” he adds, i nod. His voice sounds very familiar, but I can't quite place it… “im ashura, the innkeeper at the ormuus horn. What brings you in today?” he asks me expectantly, i look at him for a moment, *this is starting to be quiet draining* i think to myself before i answer him “i was told that you can help me settle in by the purple girl with the robot” i tell him as best as i can, he looks taken aback for a moment, then in thought before he answers back “oh, you must be talking about jina and hekla, they did say that they would be checking out what made that noise last night. So you must be a human then” he looks at me warmly, as I nod in confirmation. It's not like I wasn't born human so I guess that statement is somewhat true. He then looks slightly sad “sorry to tell you this, but unfortunately there isn't any room at the inn right now. We are having some guests from out of town that are staying with us, but we do have some old plots where you could build yourself a tent.” he says. A tent… a… tent… huh??? “Do you have like.. A phone I could use??” I ask the tall man in front of me, to which he looks confused “im sorry but whats a… phone?” he asks me curiously. Now I look at him confused, “like, something I can call people with? U know? It's fine if it's a land-line. I just need to call someone” i tell him, there's no way they don't have phones, are they like.. The armish?? They gotta have phones or anything. ”I'm sorry but I don't think I know what you mean, is that a human thing?” he asks me. This is when i start patting myself down to see if i have my phone on me, i check my teeny tiny pockets and remember that this outfit doesn't have the space to hold a phone *SCREW YOU CLOCKSWORTH WHY DO YOU ALWAYS PUT ME IN OUTFITS WITH TINY POCKETS UGHHH* I rage in my head as I continue to pat myself down to see if I'm missing anything else other than my phone apparently. Ashura watches this for a few more moments before clearing his throat “well, i may not know what a.. Phone?... is but.. And I'm sorry that I have to tell you this. Anyone that you might have wanted to contact is probably… not around any longer..” he says, looking at me with saddened eyes, i stop in my tracks and stare at him. *what.. What does he mean by that..* I think, feeling myself starting to panic. “What… what do you mean..?" I choke out, dread building in my throat. Ashura looks.. Uncomfortable, like this isn't something he wants to talk about, especially with a stranger “look, you might want to talk to jina about this later. I dont think i should be the one to give you these news” he says, there's so much care in his voice, but his eyes are pitiful. Something horrible must have happened, I can feel it. Something… something is nagging at the back of my head.. A memory, but I can't quite remember. Why… Why can't I remember what happened?

Ashura lowers himself down a bit and tries again “I can see that you're a bit distressed. I assure you that everything will be alright. Now, how do you feel about camping?” he asks me softly. Obviously trying to distract me from the mental breakdown I'm about to have.

“I'm not the camping type..” I get out, voice barely above a whisper. The purple elf demon guy looks at me sympathetically as he leans on the desk in front of him “I hear you. I slept in a tent for years while I was a soldier. Never quite got used to it." He tells me, looking like he's off in his own memories, recalling places and people long gone for a moment before he comes back to the present. He glances to the side to where I saw the pink guy earlier, probably checking on his employee. I dare not follow his gaze, only now remembering that there was another person in the building and that I nearly had a panic attack in front of TWO strangers instead of one. Awesome… great even.. Today's just my day! Woooo….

After the man in front of me checks on his employee, and possibly communicate telepathically about how pathetic i must look, who even know at this point, he decides to continue the conversation “well, after you get your tent set up, maybe we can talk to the mayor about getting you in something more permanent!” He offers gently, and I must admit, his efforts to comfort me, the random stranger that fell from the sky, are, in fact, working a good amount. Thank you random tall purple elf demon man for caring so much about my mental well being, may you prosper. I nod, trying to keep myself calm, by wrapping my arms around myself. He smiles, glad im not too far gone just yet, he then looks in thought for a moment before saying “so, lets see, to build a tent you’re going to need to collect some materials.” He reaches somewhere under his desk to grab for something I can't see. I immediately go on guard, fearing he's grabbing for a weapon. Before placing an axe on the table between us and pushing it towards me. As to offer it up to me, I stare at him for a moment before he adds "I've got an axe here for you, but you’ll have to talk to our resident miner hodari about the pick.” Before smiling at me gently again, as if im a wounded fawn… well he isn't too far off there to be fair. I hesitate for a moment, looking intently at the man before me to see if this is some sort of trap, but I find no malice, no anger or evil, just care for someone he just met, for this random stranger that has no where to go. I take the axe in my hand, it's a little heavy, but it's nice, like an anchor. I press it tight against my chest and wrap my arms around it as to hug it, to try and keep myself present.

Ashura steps out from behind his desk and comes closer, still smiling reassuringly “lucky for you, he's checking out the plots right now. Why don't we head on over so you can meet him?” he asks me. I nod, he looks at his employee once more to ask if he got in covered while hes out only to get a thumbs up back. I look at the scrawny.. Male? I have no idea honestly, for a moment, he smiles at me warmly *this whole towns very… warm* I think before looking away and following behind Ashura as he shows me where the miner is.

As we walk towards our destination he tells me what some of the shops are that are circling the town center, i listen only somewhat as my mind is racing *what happened, why wouldnt the people that i know be around anymore? Why can't I remember what happened? What are these beings living here? Where am I?* the questions are flooding my mind like Noah's ark, but unlike him I did not build a ship to sail the tides on. My mind is drowning in its own thoughts as i try my best to follow behind the gentle giant. Honestly he could be leading me to my doom and I wouldn't be the wiser right now. We walk up a large hill, I look out towards the village to look at it once more as it slowly starts shrinking behind me, I look at the fields down below the cliffs I'm ascending. Red panda-like creatures are frolicking in the fields, I decide to look away the further up we go, to not trigger my fear of heights. We come to the top of the hill and round a corner onto a small pathway between two large boulders on both sides, hiding what's past them away from prying eyes. As we follow the path deeper into the mountains maw it starts getting dark for the boulders formed into a small cave passage and opened up to a large clearing. The inn's keeper suddenly stops before me and waits for me to come closer, having been keeping a good amount of distance between us as to make sure that if something went wrong I had enough time to react. He points to a smaller man, hes looks as if he was cleaning things up, having made a pile of what looks to be rocks and old debris. There's a house for sale sign with some rather flimsy looking fencing behind said sign. He looks as if he was in thought. Ashura looked at me and said “that over there hodari, looks like he's just finishing up inspecting the plot, go talk to him. Imma leave you to it” as he gives me a small nod and walks away, presumably back to his job. I gulp, *great, another stranger, i hate talking to strangers* I think to myself once more. I walk towards the man, I can already see its another purple elf demon person. I can hear him grumbling to himself as I get closer “hm… s’comin’ along. Lotta trash left though…." I step on a stick and halt. Today really isn't my day, the man turns around, also seeming to be caught off guard before saying “oh. Hi, hodari pavel, of pavel mining, what can i do ya for?” he recovers. I'm stunned for a moment before I ask “am… I am in the right place…?” it comes out more sheepish than i wanted it to and I curse myself internally for it once more. My body really doesnt like acting how i want it to today, huh. The man befor me, hodari…. I think? Shrugs and says “if your currently without a home and lookin’ for one, they yea, y’are.” he smiles slightly befor adding “s’the whole reason im checkin’ out the soundness of these campsites. Dont need you all buried in mud. Mayor told me that “since there have been instances of random human reamercance go get the old campsite ready for rehabilitation” or somethi’ like that. In fact, this one’s about ready for use if you want it. Just needs a bit more work.” he looks over the area, searching for something i dont know, i too look out over the area, its big, lots of trees and rocks scattered around, it looks rather nice, i can see the potential. But i already have a home.

“I dont know, i already have a home so i dont think i need another” i tell him. He looks at me surprised before he looks at me with a saddened expression on his face, as if to pity me once more “was that before y’got here?” he asks me, fully facing me now. I nod reluctantly, not knowing what he means by it. He scratches his neck awkwardly, like he's contemplating something. Then he looked at me again and said “I see you’ve got an axe already. Here, take this pick too” as he hands me an old pickaxe, now, I'm confused. What is it that everyone's hiding from me? What happened? What does it matter if I had a home before I came here, shouldn't it still be around?? What's going on? Why can't I freaking remember anything?

Im starting to get really angry now, im about to start yelling that he should just tell me whats up when he continues as he looks away “always good to have the right tool for the right job. Use ‘em both to help me clear this debris, would you?” ??? what?? You want me?? To help you clear the debris?? When you don't even tell me what's going on?? Helloo? Who do you take me for?? After giving him a very disapproving huff i go to walk away, only to have the miner call after me “wha, where are you going?” he asks me confused, i dont even turn around and reply “somewhere where people will ACTUALLY tell me what's going on” im nearly out of the clearing when i feel someone grab me, i dont hesitate before swinging the axe at who ever, tho it most likely is the miner huh, decided to be stupid enough to touch me. Only to hear a welp as whoever i swung the axe at dodge my blow in time and seem to have fallen on their butt doing so.

I look down at the miner as he stares at me in shock for a moment before getting back up. He looks slightly pissed off, impressed, but pissed off. *What are you pissed for?? Get on my lvl buddy then you can be pissed off* I think to myself, he looks like he's about to yell at me when he stops himself and sighs “look, that swing was impressive, ill give you that and I'm sure I deserved it. I don't think we should be talking about what happened now, you just got here and I'd personally like to not be the one to tell ya since im known for being a bit… insensitive about this stuff. So please just wait till the little scholar girl comes talk to ya. Can y’do that?” He looks at me sternly, like a father chastising his child. I think for a moment, before begrudgingly giving in and following the man back to the plot. He tells me what needs to be cleared and i try my best to handle the two axes. After trying and failing to use them right the first few tries i finally, after nearly 30 mins have gone by, succeeded in clearing a good amount of debris. After looking at my work for a little the miner comes up behind me “still lots to do, but it's a start” he says, nearly spooking me out of my skin and getting himself nearly swung at again. He looks apologetic as he lets me calm down for a second before I ask “so, now what?” as I look at him. He looks like he's thinking as to what comes next, checking off boxes in his head to make sure he got everything before he looks at me once more and says “i go fix up another plot or two, you may be the first human, but something tells me you won't be the last. So to make things easier on me down the road might as well deal with it now rather than later” he says matter of factly before going to the big pile of debris and rocks and getting an old looking table like thing, before coming back to me carrying it with both his hands and dropping it right in front of me “as for you, should be space to place this worktable now. Tent, storage chest….. You'll figure the rest out.” he says, giving me a bit of a smile, we look at each other before he turns around and just gives me a quick “..bye.” and walks off. What….huh?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN ILL FIGURE THE REST OUT MYSELF??? COME BACK HERE!!!

As I internally panic, AGAIN, as I'm being left to my own devices after not being told what's going on, like, at all. I'm suddenly caught off guard as I hear the pitter patter of small fast footsteps running towards me, i turn around just in time to see a young child, roughly the age of 11 or 12 with a massive backpack, nearly the same size as said child running towards me at near light speed before stopping right before me with a sudden halt, panting slightly from what looked like a full on marathon sprint, i let the child catch their breath before asking if its alright, to which the child nods and holds up a finger signalling that they need a moment, i patiently wait for the child to get its bearings, already starting to turn on my protective mode incase anything is wrong and they need help only for the child to exclaim “whew, good you haven't left yet!” with a big grin on it… his??? Her??? I'm sticking with them for now just to make sure, face. Looking rather relieved when the child takes off its backpack, I stand there once again puzzled as to what's going on now when the child continues “my mom, delaila, told me there was a human in town! And here you are! I ran ALL the way from the farm here!” he says while he's rummaging through his big backpack, nearly drowning in it at one point as he takes out a big jug of milk “she wanted you to have this housewarming gift: fresh dairy from the daiya family farm! Welcome to kilima!” he says as he hands me the milk…. To have milk, but no fridge to put it in.. *this is gonna go bad so fast isnt it?* I think to myself, but the thought of drinking it all at once makes my lactose intolerant tummy grumble already warning me not to do it. I look at the jug for a long while as the child goes back to rummage through his pack before coming up to me with two letters and handing them to me “and I wanted you to have your mail! I'm Auni btw, and I handle all the deliveries around here. Twice a day every day, rain or shine! Six in the morning and six at night!” he says while beaming up at me. I look back at him, taking the two letters in hand as I ponder if this child needs adopting or not. You really shouldn't let a kid run around in the rain for too long unless you want em to get sick, I know that much from my lil sister loving to jump in puddles all the time. I shake my head as to perish the dread that starts creeping up my spine once more as I think of my family. What happened to you guys i wonder..

Auni puts his big bag back on his tiny frame, the human now worried about how heavy it is and it possibly having bad consequences for his spine in the future tries to find the words to voice their concern before being caught off guard again by the tiny purple child “sooo, i think its safe to say my job is about to get A LOT more interesting. Do you like getting mail? You look like someone who would like getting mail..” he smiles up at me with what i can make out as a small long tail whipping back and forth happily behind him, *thats something i havent seen yet* I think to myself, they have tails. Did the others have tails too? Now that I think about it they also had rather big fangs too… i need to write that down *if only i had my sketch book with me* i grumble in my head as i remember not finding anything in my pockets, all that came with me are the things that i was already wearing or was attached to the outfit, which sucks

The boy before me still looks happily at me, anticipating my answer, not realizing this sooner i stumble over my words as i say “well, that depends on the type of mail, but i like good mail i guess” i could feel how flustered i was getting, i cant just go running off in my head again in front of strangers again. Yea its a kid but he could have done something or something could have happened to him in my presence. I need to stay focused for now till I can talk to Jina properly.

“Good! Then I bet you’ll be happy with what I have for you!! C’mon, go check it out! It's your first mail delivery!! Ever!!!” the boy, auni beams up at me nearly jumping out of his shoes with excitement. *he must be really passionate about mail, huh* I think as I give him a small smile as I'm being reminded of my sister and how she would look at me just like that whenever she got excited too… I wonder where she is. I hope she is safe.. I go to open the first letter, I see now that i didnt JUST get letters but that there's a fishing rod and a bow with arrows at my side as well. I must have missed those. *focus, you can do better than that* i think as i read the first letters pages

“Dear new human,

I have been informed by Jina that you have emerged fully formed from the swirling mist.

This is wonderful news! Happy day of mist-birthing to you, new human.”

I look at the letter again for a few moments, then over the paper top to look at auni still visibly excited about me reading my “first ever mail” *not like i havent bought anime merch before..* I think to myself. Einar huh, what a strange person, atleast i got a free fishing rod out of it… not like I'm ever gonna go near water tho. I pocket the first letter and go to open the second one.

Already I can tell that this one has a little less care put into it from just looking at it, the remaining aura residue is somewhat hostile, if not unwelcoming at best. Nevertheless I can tell by the jumping excited child in front of me that I have to read it, if I want to or not.

“To whom it may concern,

City hall requires i send these letters to new residents.”

*oh wow what a great start* I think to myself, trying to not show on my face the annoyance that's already brewing in me.

“You will find a bow and set of arrows in the attached package. City hall also requires me to tell you that i am available to tutor you in their use.

During work hours, you can find me in Kilima village.

This is not an invitation to waste my time. I am busy.

*wow what a prick* I think to myself as my eyebrow quirks in annoyance. I look back at the child as I pocket the second letter, not knowing where else to put them for now. Aunis excitement seems to die down a little as I pocket said letter and looks around before asking “so, how are you settling in? This plots HUUUGE!! I heard, you can find some pretty cool stuff in the dirt.” he looks back at me with a big smile before continuing “my dad found an old copper arrowhead in our yard last week. But all I ever seem to find are rocks…” he looks down, slightly disappointed in his inability to find anything “cool” in the mud. I put my hand into my pocket and remove a big glowing cube and showed it to him “does a weird glowing cube count?” I ask him with a slight smile on my own face, wondering how he will react to the strange artifact I found while helping the miner clear the debris earlier. The boy's eyes widen in awe and he looks like he's about to explode with excitement yet again, *mm.. cute* I think to myself, enjoying having this little interaction, before the boy exclaims excitedly “oh WOW!! It definitely counts! Have you figured out what it does yet?” he asks me curiously. I shake my head, seeing as he came right as the miner left, I had no time to study the cube just yet. This dimms his excitement a little and he looks in thought for a moment. Before telling me “hmmmm. I bet jina might know! She's always hanging out in the ruins. You should see if she's found something like this before" with a small smile before a thought strikes his mind and then adds “OH YEA! I almost forgot in all the excitement. I brought a present for you too!” he says as he's removing his bag again to rummage through it once more before emerging with a belt and some weird looking balls… are we… Are we playing pokemon??

I look at him inquisitely before he tells me what he got for me “a bug scouts official belt!! And a set of smoke bombs too! I'm a member of Kilima's best and only bug catching club.” he says as he does a little scouts salute, looking really proud of himself, he then gives me the belt and bombs. Before he looks at the sky and then at a small watch he brings out of his pocket befor looking slightly panicked. He hurryingly puts his bag back on and says “i gotta run now, but if you stop by later ill give you some tips on how to use them.” he starts to walk away backwards before adding “but i bet you’re hungry right now. You should talk to my dad, Badruu, to learn how to grow food. Oh and reth! Who works at the inn, can teach you how to cook it!” at that my belly grumbles a little, at which auni chuckles and lastly says “you know, everyone's waiting to meet you! Come on, I'll race ya out!” with a big smile. I think for a moment before letting the child know that ill stay here for a little while longer, to which he looks a bit disappointed but understanding, he gives me a big wave and a “see you later!” before running off again to where he came from. Leaving me with milk, tools and bombs of all things. *what a strange but surprisingly sweet and helpful child* I think to myself as I look at all the new things I acquired in less than half a day. An axe, pickaxe, fishing rod, bow and arrows, milk, bombs and bomb belt, a “crafting table” and a whole ass plot of land. And it isn't even noon yet, and worst of all no one asked me to pay for any of this. They just gave it to me! *there gotta be strings attached to all this, no way i get to have all these things with no one expecting me to pay or work for it* i think to myself, knowing exactly how these types of things go normally. People will give you lots of awesome “free” stuff only to expect you to pay them back later for it.

I pick up the crafting table and move it to the side up against a tree, i then look at the blueprints that the miner seem to have left me with, a tent and a storage chest… how am i even suppose to make these?? I know thats what blueprints are for, to show you how to make something but i never done something like this befor, the most i ever did with wood is small carvings of cats and to make makeshift bows. But i never done something like this befor. I scratch my head, trying to decipher what im suppose to do here, only to get more and more frustrated the more i look at it, as im starting to feel myself get worked up about not understanding what im suppose to do what i take a step back and decide to grab the other stuff that i was given and to temporarily place them by the table *just so your out of the way and no one can say i took anything once i evidently get hit with the strings* i think to myself, i then look up towards the sky to gauge at what time it was, the sun was up high, around the middle of the sky *noon, huh, guess i really should talk to that jina girl and get her to spill whats going on* i ponder. Having decided on seeking out answers i starts walking towards the exit of the clearing. I walk through the small cave once more to go back into town, with nothing but the cube and a map, which jina had given me earlier, in hand. I come up to the top of the large hill once more which overlooks the town, i look down at the map, trying to figure out where i was on it. *i really should ask for directions* my mind is telling me, but i really do not want to talk to any more strangers today. My battery is dead, actually, its in the minus at this point and i just wanna have some soup or pasta and nap.

The thought of my cozy warm bed, surrounded by all my figures, merch, electronics and cats comforts me a bit, enough to get enough energy to look down the cliff onto the fields for a long second, only to make out what looks like… some kind of blue thing?? It looks furry, I can see it's an animal, accompanied by another purple demon elf person, i step back, not wanting to be spotted and get into ANOTHER side mission I have to do. I'm going to find Jina and I'm going to get my questions answered. I walk down the path that leads to the village, I stop at the road cross. Auni said that jina likes to hangout at the ruins… is it the ruins i woke up in or different ruins. *Maybe I really should ask for directions..* I ponder for a moment, not hearing the pitter patter of quick paws running at me from behind. I am still fully engulfed in my head as I'm being pushed down from behind and fall flat on my face, map still in hand. I feel some kind of animal trampling me from above as I hear someone run up behind me. *great, just great, people* I think to myself just knowing that its gonna be another unskippable cutscene. “Tau!” I hear a low masculine voice call out. As if annoyed that they have to deal with this. The creature on top of me still hasn't moved, no, instead it full on sits on top of me now, no longer moving about. *i appreciate that the impromptu massage is over, but could you please get off of me now* I complain to myself, praying to god that hasn't listened to me in a hundred of years, that the creature on top of me isn't a dog.

The person that called out to what I presume to be “tau” walks up all the way to my limp laying body and tries to get the creature off of me gently at first. The creature, however, seems to REALLY like its new found human pillow. I lay there for another moment as the two wrestle it out, with every attempt to get the animal off of me, it just comes right back to where it was originally. The person doesn't even seem to care if I am doing alright, just trying to get their animal under control again. After about 5 mins of this, what I can already guess is another purple elf demon person, seemingly wins their little wrestling match and finally gets the animal off of me. I start standing up as the person behind me is chastising their animal, as I brush myself off I am finally asked if I am alright. I turn around just to glare at the person, and yup its another elf demon person, this ones a deep blue tho! They got even more variety! He's tall, not as tall as the inns keeper, but taller than me, he's built pretty muscular, not too much, not too little, just the right amount *what even am i thinking. Stop thinking about his body you idiot* i yell at myself, feeling myself get flustered from my previous thoughts, as i continue glaring at the man i suddenly feel something furry and wet touch my free hand, i stop my glaring to look down at the wet furry thing only to see… a dog…instantly my whole body goes ridgid, a dog, there was a dog here this entire time, even worse im pretty sure that thats the creature that was on top of me to begin with! A dog. A freaking dog! My hand shoots up to my chest in a protective manner, I take a few steps back only to trip on a small boulder and fall on my butt, the dog comes closer, its head slightly tilted, as if confused, but worried. *i need to get away, NOW* I panic. I get up as fast as I can and i run away, away away, as far away as i can, into the wilderness, following the path, it takes me up hills and down hills and over bridges but i just run and run till my leg gives out below me, knowing fully well im not supposed to run this much my leg aches, but i get back up to get even further away, as far as i can from the creature.. That… dog, this time not praying, knowing god does listen but despises me enough the opposite of what i want to come true instead.

A dog… it had to be a dog of all things. Fate truly works in cruel was, i come up to a large lake with a giant double door behind it, two large pillars in front of said doors, i go towards it, wondering if this is the ruins that the mail boy had meant, i follow the rough path, or well, what's left of it, and pass a large makeshift tent, i look at it for a moment, before i continue walking towards the doors again, when i start to make out voices and people again, but this time, they sound rather familiar. After walking a little bit more I suddenly realize that it's Jina and her robot.

I sigh in relief as I approach the two of them, ready to question some answers and answer some questions or something.i dont know.

I walk up to her and she is so up in her mind that she doesn't notice me till I'm right in front of her. She then perks up as she sees my shoes right in front of her and looks up at me from her crouched down position, she immediately stands up and brushes herself off as she greets me “hey,..um… human! It's good to see you again. Did you get settled in alright?” she askes with a slight smile on her face. I dead pan as I tell her “no, now tell me what's going on”, she looks shocked to hear that. She then looks to the side nervously, scratching at her face a little. I can tell shes hesitant at first, but not for long after the robot, whos name I can't remember, comes up behind her and says “jina, i think it is best if we tell the human what happened to their kind”, jina sighs at that and shuts her eyes closed for a solid second before she tells me to follow her, the robot and i follow the small scholar to the large tent i say not long ago. She sits me down on what I can only describe as a child's attempt at a couch, i sit on the side closest to the “door” to make sure that if things go bad I can get out quickly. She sits on the other end of the wooden couch, facing me, her head in her hands in frustration. As to try and figure out where to start. She then sighs once more and looks up at me and asks “what's the last thing you remember before you got here?” i think for a moment, i try to concentrate hard on my memories, i try to recall the last thing i remember before i got here but i come up blank. I have all my normal memories, but not from right befor i got here. “i dont know, i dont really remember anything other than my normal memory, like my family and past, my likes and dislikes. That stuff. But from right before, there's nothing really.." I tell her, looking at her. She seems to perk up a bit at that “you… you remember your life before the event?” she asks me, seemingly excited at that revelation. I don't really understand why that would be exciting, not like I have had the best of lives anyway, i nod and I can see the stars in her eyes forming, before deflating again, remembering why we were talking in the first place. She looks to the side as to look for the next words she's about to say. “So… ah shoot, how am I gonna tell you this?... you humans just…. Lets just say that there hasn't been any sightings of humans in the last… 10.000 years..” she flinches at the last words that come out of her mouth. My eyes go wide and I can feel myself starting to get upset. “What do you mean there hasn't been any sightings of humans in 10.000 years?? It's 2023 of course there are humans around. There are freaking everywhere "I say as my voice increasingly gets higher. A bad trait I know I have when I get upset or excited, but its one I can't control much.

Jina stares at me for a moment, waiting for me to calm down, not wanting to upset me more than I already was. It takes a few moments before she speaks again. I know that she can tell I'm still very upset, but she looks like she really needs to tell me something. So i let her.

“The year is 1342, humans went missing over 10.000 years ago. We don't know what happened. This is why I ask if you can remember anything from before. Every single one of them just went poof one day. They only started reappearing about a month ago with the first sighting in harvest meadows, they then started to appear all over bahari, i even heard that there were some in the umbraa territory as well as of recent. What im trying to say is… everything… and everyone that you might have known… it's all gone… and it has been for thousands of years” she finally finishes. I just stare, I stare into the nothingness that slowly consumes me as I realize what she's saying. My heart aches as my brain is trying to make sense of the words she's said. It keeps echoing but it doesn't process. Everything around me starts to feel so far away. Jina, the tent. Everything. It's all blurring into one as my mind consumes itself. I'm falling into myself, my memories, my fears, my trauma, it's all playing back to me. I see the life I had till now. My siblings, my pets. My friends' faces. I remember my sisters laugh, joyful and sweet and happy. It's all gone. They are gone. Everything.. Everybody… why.. Why does this keep happening to me? Why does everyone keep leaving me?

My mind is spinning. I can barely make out sounds surrounding me. Nothing registers to me, I don't even feel the tears falling down my face like a burst dam, unstoppable to me and heartbreaking to see for others. As I feel myself sink deeper into my despair I feel the nagging, aching in my head. It's pounding. Knocking at my mind's door to be let in. but i don't know how to. They are there. I can feel them grabbing at me, clawing their way to the front from the depths of the void they were kept in. Coming closer and closer. I start spiraling so far that I fear I'm about to have a mental breakdown. I don't register the robot coming into the tent and trying to sooth me, nor do I register jinas panicking beside me as I fall deeper and deeper in my meltdown. Grieve, that's all that owns me now. I remember sounds now, as the memories reach further and further into the front the more I remember. I remember snipids of sounds. I remember sirens going off. I remember the panic, chaos and despair surrounding me. I remember screams of random strangers. I remember gripping someone's hand as tight as I could as we went further and further into the darkness. When it all comes rushing back to me at once I'm a mess. The rifts. The terror in her eyes. As i push her aside all i can remember is locking eyes with my family and saying “take care of them, please” as everything goes black and i wake up worlds away from everything if ever known.

I come back to about 3 hours later, I find myself sitting in a corner, curled into myself with my knees up against my chest. Jina is still sitting on the couch, only now she is drinking tea, still looking rather worried. I touch my face only to realize that I must have been crying this whole time, i look down at myself and see that my outfit is sullied in mascara *I told him that I don't need to wear it. And he gets the non-water proof kind too… really clocksworth..*i think, i blink up at jina again and feel my eyes hurt, i feel dehydrated, probably from all the water i just lost.. I shift to get up, but stumble in my attempt and fall flat on my face…. Again. Jina and her robot look at me now, I hear fast footsteps approaching me and Jina's voice asking if I'm alright. She crouches down at my level to try and help me up. I just lay there, not having the energy nor will to get up. I lay there as Jina is fussing over me, worrying that I really did die this time. When the robot comes up to me, grabs me by my armpits and lifts me up and carries me onto the couch, she sits me down and hands me a cup of tea. Telling me that “your vital signs are in the low human and your emotional state is unstable, i recommend you drink this cup of tea to calm you down and to re-hydrate your body, prolonged fluid leakage, such a crying, can cause serious health risks to you human” i take the cup in both hands, knowing im too weak right now to hold it in one, fearing ill burn myself if i do so from the small shakes that course through my body. I have no energy to argue, I just pray that there's nothing in this tea that will trigger my allergies. I blow the top of the liquid to cool it down before I take a small sip. As the texture and taste flood my tongue I can make out what it is composed of. Its very floraly, must have been made from local herbs and spices, the flavours mix together in a in a good blend, *clocksworth would have approved* I think to myself as I look at the cup in my hands. Jina comes close to me as I take another small sip. I can tell she's on edge by the way her aura spikes anxiously. I let her approach me, she stops right in front of me. Looking quite ashamed of herself for causing me so much distress and hurt. I focus solely on the warm cup in my hands, as it's anchoring me in the here and now. The young scholar looks at the floor, then at me, then back at the floor, this repeats a few times, like she's looking for words that aren't there. She eventually musters up the courage to say just two words “im sorry” as she continues to look at the floor. It must have really spooked her to see someone react this badly to something she said, even though they were horrible news, she probably expected me to react badly but not this bad.

I lower my now half empty cup onto my lap, I too look at the floor, not knowing how to respond. I can tell that apology was more than just genuine, it was heartfelt.

*I can't stay mad at someone like this, it's not her fault that… that stuff happened. I shouldnt take it out on her” i think, i try to voice my thoughts but find that nothing comes out. My mouth stays shut and no matter how hard i try i cant muster up even a sound

*really??? NOW??* I rage in my head. Knowing exactly what's happening to me right now. My throat feels closed off. Like someone's choking me, in the back of my head I can hear the maniacal laughter from so long ago. I push the memory down, not wanting to have another panic attack in front of the scholar. Knowing it will truly frighten her once more. My voice does not ring out, and my mouth stays glued shut. I look up at the robot to try and see if it can sense what's going on. She seems focused solely on jina tho. I put my cup on the small table in front of me, knowing my next move will make holding it impossible. As I put the cup on the table Jina looks up just in time to see me put it down, she then looks at me, i sit up right. I then try to get the attention of the robot by waving my hand a bit higher, which seems to work *If anyone here will know this language it must be the robot. Looks old enough to be from my time. I hope atleast* I think as I sigh out of my nose, the first breath I have taken in days. I then proceed to sign “ I T S O K” in asl. The robot seems to process this for a moment, with the scholar looking at me confused as to what just happened. The robot then translates my message to her master?.. No, friend. That seems more fitting. As she tells jina what I just told her, she looks back at me guiltily, asking if I'm sure. I just nod with a blank face, not having the energy to put on a smile at this moment. She then breathes out a massive sigh, as if she was holding her breath this whole time as her shoulders slump a little. She looks almost cute doing so *bad me, no, bad >:(* I chastise myself, mentally bonking myself. I then motion for her to sit down next to me.

She looks hesitant for a moment, as if she's afraid of hurting me again. I look at her patiently, she blushes slightly as she moves to sit next to me. As jina sits down I move my hand to my pocket, I wait for her to fully sit and face me before I remove its contents.

A brightly glowing cube sits in my hand between us now. Jina looks stunned for a moment before her whole body and soul sparks with excitement. Her eyes fill with stars once more as she studies the object for a solid minute. She then asks me where I found it. I mimic a chopping motion as to indicate me clearing debris and she seems to understand. “You found this under some old junk? Wow, I can't believe it!” she says as she takes the item from my hand. She inspects it from all sides and then adds “this thing is an ancient flow battery! These were the power sources for the ancient humans. I’ve been looking all over something like this!” she smiles at me brightly for a moment before she goes back to studying it. *ancient human “flow” battery? I don't think that was a thing back in my day* I think to myself, curious as to what the item in question can do. She then looks back at me and sees my confused face and frowns. “But wait, if you can remember everything before you came here, you should already know what these were used for!” she says with a slight smile, trying to find recognition in my face, but after finding none she looks at the item confused as well “well, surely there must have been a use for this that most humans don't know of then! I'm sure that there's a.. Rational explanation for you not recognizing it!” she says, sounding like she herself is unsure of what she just said.

She holds the cube in her hands for another moment or two “well, this is certainly MY lucky day. First I found an ancient human that fell out of the sky in an ancient temple, then said human remembers their past from before the event and THEN said human brings me a ancient human flow battery on top of that! You truly are something new human!” She smiles at me for a long moment. I just glance at her from the corner of my eye as I go to pick up my cup once more to finish my tea before it gets cold. Jina doesn't wait for me to answer before starting to explain what all the “ancient humans” did with this supposed “flow battery”, “so yeah, you humans used to use these to power all sorts of things….” she finishes as she looks back at the cube that's still sitting comfortably in her hands before looking in thought. Having finished my original cup of tea and another 3 cups in the time Jina was explaining the cubes used, I look at her inquisitively. She then looks at me like she had an idea “you know, there's this old door under the waterfall that i’ve been trying to open. It's just a little ways past the shrine we first met at. I’ve tried all sorts of things to get it open. Maybe..” she looks back at the cube as she says the next few words “maybe this battery could be the key…” she finishes as she inspects the cube one last time before looking at it determined, she then stretches her hand out to hand me back the cube, i look at her questionly, wondering what she wants me to do with it. “Why don't you keep the battery and give it a try?” she says earnestly, I look at her slightly bewildered. Not in the mood for ANOTHER side quest. I try to open my mouth to protest but she cuts me off “this place used to belong to your people after all. You really should be the first one to check it out.” she tells me as she takes my hand and puts the cube into it. *and be hit with booby traps, i dont think so!* I complain to myself once more, I glare at the cube in my hand like it stole my last chocolate chip cookie that I have been saving all day as a reward for being a good boy, only to find it gone.

Jina clears her throat to bring me back from the impromptu staring contest I was having with the giant excuse of a glowing rubik's cube in my hands and asks if there's anything else I need. I think for a moment if I should ask her how she built her tent, only to shake the thought away. Jina then stands up, having read the shaking of my head as a no, she says her last piece before motioning to the tents entrance as to indicate that i should leave. I get up, nod to the robot as a thanks for the tea and make my way out of the tent, cube in hand. As I walk away from the tent and into the open field i look at the cube once more *a door near where we met, huh..* I think, I then pocket the cube and try to find my way back to the path I had come from. Only to realize that I had no idea where I was. I look around, turning in circles for a moment, and realize that in all my panic at escaping the… dog… I didn't take in my surroundings… *great just great we are supposed to be better than this* I got angry at myself again. I look around and then look at the map I had put back in my pocket earlier and try to make out where I was. It was hard to seeing as it was roughly 4:30pm and the sun was starting to get dangerously low, i was debating whether or not to look for the door tomorrow or not, but decided that as long as i had light i should look for it, for it might make a better shelter than the open clearing that was given to me by the village.

I bring the map really close to my face to try and make out where I might be, it takes a few minutes to figure it out, but when I do I cheer victoriously in my mind. I follow the map to what direction I should go and start heading to where I think the cave opening might be. It takes a few moments but eventually I get to the pavilion I marveled at earlier that day, I debate whether or not to rest for a moment, feeling the pain of my leg slowly stretching up my hip and spine, but decide against it, wanting this ordeal to be over as soon as I can.

I head up into the small cave passage, as I walk along the wet rock walls a gust of wind hits me once more, I shiver. It really is cold out here, i dont know how anyone could sleep in the open with temperatures like this. I look at the field and trees from beyond the cliff that overhangs the small pond. Now that i look around it looks like its early spring, *no wonder its this cold* I think as I shiver once more. It doesn't take me long to reach the door Jina had mentioned to me earlier. I inspect it in the slowly dying light of the day, its beautifully detailed, modern but with a rustic charm *i wish all modern things could have been built like this* I think to myself as I trace the small details in the metal, as I move my hand lower and lower I come to a square opening in the door. My hand moves to my pocket and i remove the cube from it once more, i look at it for a moment, then at the hole *I wonder…* I think as I move my hand with the cube closer and closer towards the door, I line the cube up with the opening in the door and push it in. it fits like a glove, like they were made for each other. Then something happens as I move my finger from the cube, having just finished pushing it all the way in, the ground shakes and the door glows as it opens to show me its contents. I look at it for a long moment, waiting for the ground to stop shaking, it doesn't take long and as soon as the ground starts dancing the maraca it stops, as if it never happened.

I wait another movement, and another. Before I finally take a step into the mysterious hallway in front of me, I look around as I walk further and further in. It smells of rock, old moist rock and dust. A very.. Cavey smell. As I walk far enough into the temple to make things out, lights start turning on, one by one the passage ahead of me gets lit up, once all the lights turn on I look around again only to find im standing in a giant cave. With a man made pathway leading to some sort of fire pit in the middle of a giant platform and behind said fireplace is what looks like another door, this one looks different however. As I go to investigate the door I hear running echoing behind me. I whip around only to find a very out of breath jina standing at the entrance of the cave, with her robot companion being close behind her. She catches her breath for a minute, before looking like she's about to explode from excitement. She looks around and then looks at me *somehow, i feel like im in danger* i think as jina runs up to me, smiling so brightly i think her cheeks must be hurting “you actually did it! I heard the rumbling and came running! This place is amazing! It must’ve been some kind of temple..” she says to me. Still looking around the room like she's trying to commit every inch of it to memory. I just shrug *not like you didnt tell me to do it. Plus I thought it might give more shelter since I don't really know how to build a tent… or a chest… or anything else really…* I think to myself. She didn't seem to have seen me shrug, still too busy with marveling at her newfound ruin to explore. I turn back around to read what's written on the door, I lower myself down enough to make out the carvings. It says “knowledge grows the mind even in times of strife, to enter here you must supply that which grows life”, “to which grows life..” i repeat outloud, not knowing I did so. Jina whips her head around to look at me and then swiftly makes her way next to me to see what I'm looking at. Only to be stumped when she sees the riddle, she then looks between me and the riddle and asks “can you actually read the carvings on the walls??? This is ancient human writing!” she looks excited, then her brain must have caught up to her and she adds “actually, no, that makes perfect sense. You’re a human. Of course you can read your own language!” she slaps herself on the forehead befor looking at me again. I look back at her. She looks at the writing and then at me. I too look at the writing and then at her. She's smiling very brightly, like she's anticipating something… am… am i supposed to do something here..? She must have been tired of waiting cause she asks me to translate it for her *ooooh, thats what you wanted, you could have just said so* I think to myself. I repeat the riddle out loud to her. She starts to think, telling me all the possible answers it could be. I look around the room once more as Jina goes off into her own head. I walk around, the pillars seem old, but sturdy, yet i dont see any clues on any on them though. Looking back towards the entrance I see that the robot didn't come very far. She must be waiting by the door for her friend, I then look to what I previously thought was a fireplace in the center of the platform, only to realize upon further inspection it looks more like a bowl of sorts. I see old carvings on the stone, but it's so old and worn away I can't make out what it used to say. I look at the centre of the bowl and see some black-browish substance. I chip at it with my nail… rust..*Why would there be rust in the centre of a metal bowl?* i question myself. I repeat the riddle once more in my head "knowledge grows the mind even in times of strife to enter here you must supply which grows life” i chant it over and over in my mind. *Knowledge, knowledge is also known as a seed, and to supply it with which grows life you need..*

“Water” is all i say, jina looks up at me from where she was just in her own thought process not too long ago, she's about to ask me what i said only for me to turn to her and ask “do you have like a flask or like a bowl or something? We need water” she looks around and starts patting at herself. I look around and grab one of the big leaves that were growing from the rocks and run to the stairs that lead down to little shallow ponds, i hesitate for a moment before stepping into it. i fill up the leaf as much as i can and run back to the bowl as fast as i can, trying not to drop any of the water and pour it into the huge bowl, as i do so the ground starts glowing. Jina looks shocked yet excited as it does, i run back to the small pond and repeat this step 4 more times, each time i pour more water in, the ground glows brighter and brighter, until i fill it up to the brim, only then does the door that was separating us from the next room glowing brightly as well, jina turned around, having stood there this whole time watching me. She is shocked when my theory proves right the first time around. As the door opens we see a statue of a giant bird, a phoenix to be exact. She stares in awe for a moment, before turning to me and saying “you scout ahead ok, hekla and i will survey this room to see what we can learn.” as she smiles at me and then turning to walk to her robot *HEKLA THAT WAS HER NAME THANK YOU ILL TRY TO REMEMBER* I yell in my head. I look to where Jina walks off to, making sure everything is alright. After I see if everything is alright, I turn around to face the giant ass stone bird that's in front of me. I look at it for a moment, before walking into the room, rounding the giant statue. Only to find that the doorway behind it is halfway caved in. I look at the giant boulders in front of me. Then I look at my shoes, knowing fully well that climbing those with heels, even if they aren't that high, would be a terrible idea, especially since they are still wet from stepping into the pond not too long ago... I ponder for a moment if I should just take my shoes off and try that way, but knowing that I would be bare footed on top of who-knows how old rock also sounds like a terrible idea. I then look around the bird statue to see if the two people in the previous room are looking my way, after making sure they are not, I turn back towards the rock.

5 minutes later the passage is cleared, the rocks and debris are fully out of the way. After making sure that moving them did not rouse suspicion from the other two, I looked up ahead to what the room was hiding behind. Only to see a statue of a headless person… *didn't have to call me out like that* I think to myself. I look around, it seems that I am on top of a giant cliff which is surrounded by a big… deep… mote, and past that mote is what looks like… a bunker.

The screams are echoing in my mind once more. Echos of voices, flashes of memories flood my mind more and more as I look at the structure that lays before me. I can feel myself shaking, I feel like throwing up. I look away to cover my mouth so the bile that rushes up my throat doesn't spill out. I collapse onto the group, I swallow the bile back down and hold my throat. Panting, im panting like i cant breath, like i just ran a mile marathon. Jina must have heard the commotion and I can just faintly make out the blur of footsteps and her asking if I'm alright from the next room. I can barely musker up a “mmmh” to keep her from seeing me like this again. Having a panic attack in front of strangers once isn't good, having one twice is bad, but three times in a day? That's just plain pathetic. I take another moment to gather myself. After a few long moments, and a breathing exercise. I'm calm enough to be able to stand. I'm careful getting up, not wanting to slip on the wet rock.

*I can't keep doing this. I need to get out of here* I think to myself. I look down the cliff for a split of a second. Not wanting to trigger my fear of heights today as well. I come to the conclusion that ill just have to move exploring the… structure.. To another day. For today my battery is past minus at this point and if i don't try to recharge soon ill surely get worse and worse.

I slowly stumble back into the previous chamber. As I walk I hold myself up by leaning on the wall, fearing my legs will give out any second now from all the mental strain I was put under for one day. I walk slowly, nearly tripping twice. It feels like forever till I'm in the other room again and by the time I get there my mental state is starting to spiral downwards again. I stand in the doorway, lightly holding onto it with my left hand. Jina doesn't notice me right away, but when she does she looks excited to see what I saw. Her excitement immediately vanishes when she sees me. I must look awful right now, cause I can see her frown and she carefully walks up to me. She asks what I saw, I can only barely get myself to say one word and one word only “cliff..” it comes out in a mumble and sounds strained. Jina seems to have heard me just fine tho “a cliff? Intriguing… perhaps there was some sort of collapse…” she trails off in thought.. She then must have remembered that I was standing there as she perks up once more "I wouldn't try navigating that area without a glider. You’ll need to speak to najuma about building you one. She usually hangs around Bahari bay.” she tells me then looks panicked as she adds “but don't worry about getting it today. You really don't look good. Hekla and I are gonna explore this temple out for the next few days… or weeks. So don't worry about getting it right away. You should come back once you are settled in better” she rubs her neck nervously. I can tell she cares, but I don't know if it's because I'm a good paper she can write or because I'm a person. It doesn't concern me for now as my mind is spinning. My mind can barely process what she said. I just stare into space blankly, trying not to fall over again. As I stumble away slowly I try to regain some control back from my body, I try to walk fast. Bad idea. I try to not look like a pathetic fool. Doesn't work. By the time I'm out of the temple and nearly out of the cave passage I trip and nearly fall, I'm saved by a wall my face smashes flat into. I stand there for a moment, my nose starting to bleed from all the abuse it's been through for one day. As i feel it heal instantly, but not before a few drops make it onto my blouse *great just great. Im wet, stained with tears, mascara and now blood and i cant even have a dramatic anime moment cause the stupid sun is shining like everything is sunshine and rainbows* i complain in my head as the tears start welling back up, i wipe them away with my sleeve, just knowing that any remaining makeup i had on, just got ruined even more *This is why i dont wear that stuff. But does he listen? no* I continue complaining as I stumble down the wooden bridge. I proceed to walk down the dirt road that leads to the clearing I was “given” by the village when I make it to the pathfork once more, I look around. This time there's luckily no dog in sight. I look up to the hill, i debate for a moment if i really should go up there or if i should just rough it out in the pavilion for the night *would beat sleeping in the open* I think to myself. I then look down onto my clothes. Then at my shadow in the dirt. I must look like shit, I can't walk around like this, this has blood on it and is wet. I need something warmer if I dont wanna freeze to death…touche.

I think back to all the stores the inn's keeper told me about, I really should have listened closer, I fish out the map again and look down at it. I try to recall what shops there were…mmmh general store… furniture…. And… What was it… tailor? There's a tailor, I think. Man I really should listen to what people say more often. I look down the path to the village, then at the sun. It looks like it must be around 6pm-ish. Was I really in that temple for over an hour? I start to wobble down the path to the village, hoping, praying that I wasn't mistaken and that they are still open.

As I make it back into the town square I try to see where I need to go to get some…fresh.. Clothes. I look around. There are a lot of people walking around. And I really dont wanna deal with them. I look around, there's a shop with lots of pretty flowers, I look at the sign hanging from the building and can make out that it's not a tailor's store and there's lots of furniture inside on pedestals. The next store I look at is bigger with a terrasse in its front. I look at the sign and make out it's the general store. I look around if I'm even looking in the right row. So there's a furniture store, general, the inn and what looks like a blacksmite. The big building looks too big to be a village tailor shop. So I look at the last building in the corner. It's tall and looks pretty, I can hear people inside and the lights are on. I look at the sign above the door, which indicates a needle and thread.. I think.. I'm pretty sure.. I wish I came with my glasses man..

I'm shy.. I hesitate to walk up the steps of the building. Fear grips my very being. On the other hand, Lets NOT go in there. I'm sure ill be fine… in the cold.. With wet shoes…. I take all the rest of the energy that I have for the day. Which is none. And slowly creep up the stairs, with my shoulders hunched and my head low. I go to open the door, a small bell rings out which announces my presence. I hear the chatter inside the building stop. *shit shit shit FUUUUUUCK* I panic. Now I HAVE to commit, I can't just let the door ring and NOT enter.

I open the door some more and as I'm standing still in the door, peeking inside. I see lots of pretty clothes on displays, fabrics upon fabrics still on their spull. It smells of lavender and herbs and flowers and fabrics. The smell instantly hits me, I look around till I see a trio of strangers at the very end of the store. Looking at me. I blush slightly as I try to ask as loud as I can “is this.. The tailor..?” well duh you idiot of course it is stupid question. I hear someone confirm that indeed it is. I ask if it's still open for today or not, ready to apologize if it isn't. They confirm that it's still open. I step inside and walk up to where I saw the people looking at me, suspecting that the owner must be among them. I'm still hunched over slightly, looking down. Not feeling like interacting much with people anymore for the day. I go to open up my mouth to ask another question when I get cut off “wow, you look worse for wear than when i saw you this morning” i hear a cheeky voice come from the side, I freeze for a moment. I glance at where it came from only to see a familiar looking face, it's the inn keepers employee. He has a cheeky smile on his face as he's leaning on the table with both his arms, one arm laying down and the other up to support his head as he's sitting down on the side of it. There's a young woman next to him, she elbows him and then chastises him for being rude. I look away from the two in the direction of the person behind the table, being sure now that it's the owner. My voice comes out barely above a whisper “do you.. Have anything in stock that's long sleeved..?” I ask, the person in front of me hums for a moment, before confirming that they do indeed, have long sleeved clothes. I nod. Now I just need to figure out my money problem. As I think about what I could possibly give the person in front of me, I hear someone come closer next to me. A cheery feminine voice rings out “hey, you're the new human, right?” I'm being asked. I just give a quick mh sound. I could give them my watch, but that was a limited edition alice in wonderland white rabbit watch, i dont wanna give that up! Not my baby <:(

I could give him the sapphire that ornates my bow. It is big and very clear. I bet I can get some very good clothes with it. The voice at my side continues “well, welcome to the valley! I'm Tish! I run the furniture store down the block. And that over there my brother reth” to that i just hear a “hey” from where the pink guy sits. I don't look at them as they continue to speak. I grab my bow and remove the priceless gem that adorns it and put it on the table in front of me “i.. Don't have any money, will this do?” I ask, not being able to meet the eye of the person in front of me. The person picks up the gem into their pale blue hands and seems to be inspecting it. They sound amazed at the quality “a gem like this is pretty rare to come by, especially with how much clarity it has and its size. You can get yourself something tailored with this, are you sure you want something off the rack in exchange for this gem?” a pretty, breathy male voice asks me. I nod. The tailor moves to the side and walks to his displays, I follow behind him. “Do you know what size you are?” he asks, i nod and tell him my measurements. He hums in delight, surely appreciating that I know my sizings. He asks if I have any requirements. I tell him “long sleeves. Preferably covering most up my neck and upper body. I also would like some pants and maybe shoes if you have those. Long and stretchy please. Something that can get dirty if it needs to” i finish. He thinks for a few moments before showing me an assortment of different garments to choose from that meet one or most of my requirements. At last I see a sweater top with a jacket combo I like, it has stars and moons on it. It's the wrong color though. I ask if he has it in blue, he perks up, nods and goes to fetch the blue version. It's pretty, not something I would necessarily wear everyday normally, but it's pretty and blue and has stars on it, and that's all it needs for it to be perfect. He asks if I would like the matching pants with the top, after seeing it I shake my head. I look around some more and find a pretty pair of pants, they are pretty and long and look stretchy and big. And most important of all they are blue and have stars on them. I point at them, signaling the tailor that I would like this pair, he perks up, telling me that it's a very well fitting combo “I would have not thought to combine those two, but you are right they do fit together quite nicely. Would you like the matching pair of shoes with those?” he asks. I nod after he shows me. This whole time his aura is pleasant to be around, friendly. Its.. soothing. If only a little. We walk back to the table where the register is and he bags the clothes for me. As he does so he hums. I hear someone say “so, the human that's literally dressed head to toe in blue decided to buy even more blue clothes. Bet i cant guess your favorite color” with a chuckle which then proceeds with a low “ouch!” as he probably got elbowed again. The tailor is about to give me my bag when he freezes and realizes something. “Oh, my apologies, I completely forgot to introduce myself. Hello. I am Jel Omiata. Yes, Omiata, as in the house of Omiata. You know… the most renowned fashion empire in the whole Bahari province.” I can feel him smiling at him, if not a bit nervous. I don't recognize the name, cause, you know, humans from 10.000 years ago here. I look away to the side. Still focusing on anything other than the people around me

I can feel his aura fall a bit as he continues nervously “you haven't heard of the house of Omiata?” he seems shocked at this, if not a bit offended but his aura settles as he continues “well, i suppose you DID just materialize out of thin air this morning. So you have a valid excuse. So tell me, since you have been in my shop for a while now, what do you think of the fashion on display?” he asks. Small talk. I HATE small talk, just give me my bag please. I nod with a mh sound, to signal that it's alright. It's not bad, I really liked some of the pieces I did see. And I'm literally buying from you right now, so I must like it. He seems to take my lackluster response luckily in a positive manner. “Well, I suppose you are purchasing from me so you must at least somewhat enjoy it” he says. He then hands me the bag, I take it from him, and as i do i look up at him fully for the first time. He's tall. Way taller than me. He's slender and tall and pale and pretty. Our eyes meet for a brief second, but the impact, it has lasts for an eternity. As they meet everything halts and I am whisked away from reality for a brief moment, it's just him and I, our souls link as I can see his bursting aflame. Knowing he must have felt it too. I see his eyes widen for a brief moment and his mouth falling slightly open. The moment lasts for lifetimes until

BOOM

The earth shakes as the sky lights up for milliseconds. I snap out of my trace as i grab the bag awkwardly with a nod and a slight blush on my cheeks as i run towards the door only to realize, its raining cats and dogs outside *oh so NOW you wanna give me my sad anime moment?? You really have horrible, HORRIBLE timing* I think as I glare up to the sky. My shoulders slump, great, it's raining and i dont have an umbrella or anything and my pretty new clothes are gonna get wet. I feel myself starting to shrink into myself once more as the tears come up again. I hear footsteps starting to approach me from behind. I ignore them as I try to not have another melt down. The sky seems to have other ideas as there's another loud BOOM that can be heard. I jump from the loud and sudden noise once more. Just like the sky cries its symphony of tears I too start to not be able to hold them back. They roll down my cheeks as I hug the bag close to my chest in an attempt to shield it from the onslaught of water. I feel a soft small warm hand touch my arm. I jump and shrink further into myself. Not knowing what to do. A female voice rings out “are you ok?” she asks, sounding worried. Pathetic, I must look so freaking pathetic right now. My mouth twists into a frown that I can't undo. It's stuck like that, I try to look away, but the girl moves to the front of me. She must have seen my tears “are you.. afraid of thunder?” she asks me earnestly. Her voice is patient and caring. I just give a slight nod. Another loud BOOM rings out as I flinch. I wanna cover my ears. I wanna shrink into myself and hide. But I can't do that. She looks at me with worried eyes. She looks into mine and instantly figures me out. She must have known, I don't know what she saw, but it was enough for her to ask “do you have anywhere to go?” she sounds so caring. I shake my head, i barely get the words out, its mumbly and raspy. But she seems to hear me just fine “i.. I got a plot.. But i didnt know how to build the tent.. I dont..” after that my voice gives out, as i look at the floor. She nods and looks away and asks someone behind me “reth, do you know if the inn has any rooms available?” the person, reth? Pink guy i think. Answers her “oh no. we have guest from out of town night now, all the rooms are booked sadly. Why?” he says, as i hear someone else approach me from behind. Great. We are having a party over here now. Awesome. Wow. The girl sounds like she's thinking for a moment. Before perking up and smiling, she looks at me and says “well, would you like to stay at my house for tonight? I can help you with the tent in the morning if you’d like!” that's when I looked at her fully for the first time. “Wha..” just comes out of my mouth as i look at her. She's short and cute, she has blue eyes and long curly hair with pink skin. Seeing her is like a slap in the face. Recognition. She must have seen it in my eyes, as well as what came afterwards. Mourning, grieve, despair. As the tears fall bigger now. I try to contain myself, but it wont work. She looks shocked for a moment, before understanding seems to overtake her. Her hand reached my arm once more as she looks at me again and says that I can stay with her for the night and that everything will be ok. This is when someone takes her by the hand and whisks her away.

“Tish wait a moment, you can't seriously offer up our home to a stranger like that” reth tries to reason with his sister. Jel walks up to the two of them and agrees with the young cook. Noting that they know nothing about the human, so letting them sleep so close to her would be a bad idea. Tish protests at this “look, they are obviously going through it right now. They have nowhere else to go. They said they didn't know how to build their tent and I'm not letting a potential new friend walk all the way up a hill just to sleep in the rain!” she says. Trying to reason with her friend and brother. The two men look in thought, not very much liking the idea. Tish then adds “how would you feel if you suddenly wake up in a world where you don't know anybody with nowhere to go, afraid and alone. And I don't know why, but something tells me that they remember at least parts of their old life. When they looked at me they seemed to recognize me and they looked so sad. I must remind them of someone that they were close to..” she trails off at the end. Looking sad for the human as she looks back at the sobby mess by the door. “Ok fine, ill give you that. I would feel shitty too if that happened to me. But what if they attack you? You don't know what they are like. They seem.. Unstable right now” reth tries to reason with his sister once more, trying to get through to her how bad of an idea it was to let a strange human that fell out of the sky sleep in their home. Tish looks upset now, her eyebrows furrow and she glares at her brother “I know how to defend myself. Plus, look at them. Do they really look like they could hurt a fly? Plus if anything bad happens I'll just lock my door, i have tools i can use to defend myself. I'll be just fine” she counters her brother's worry, just then another lightning hits the ground with thunder echoing not too far behind, making the human whimper. Reth tries to argue again but tish already made up her mind. Clearly wanting to help her new friend in need. Jel moved to touch reths shoulder and shook his head, as to signal that his attempts to reason with the blond are over. Reth looks annoyed, he deflates a bit as he rubs his eyes, a habit he has for when he's stressed. He tries one last time, just to be safe “fine, let the human sleep in our house. But you're not letting them into your room for tonight. I'm gonna be busy all night anyway, have a… night shift… again. Let them sleep in my room. I'll come by in the morning to check on the two of you. Sound fair?” he asks. Tish smiles brightly and nods. Finally seeing at least some reasoning. She hugs her brother as a thanks for understanding. As she runs back to the sobbing human. She looks back at jel to ask if it's alright if she leaves her sketches in the shop for the night. He lets her know that it's not a problem. Jel then looks at the human as tish tells them the good news. For some reason, his soul is drawn to them. It was just a fleeting moment, but it ignited something inside of him. Something he can't explain. All he knows is that seeing the human, this stranger, in so much distress is tearing his whole soul apart, and he doesn't know how to stop it or even, if he wants it to stop.

After borrowing an umbrella from jel and tish saying good night to her friend and brother for the night, she and the human make their way through the rain to tishs house. The umbrella is small, barely big enough for two. The human and majiri girl have to walk closely together to fit, but in less than 10 mins, walking slow due to the slippery rain and the human needing to be calmed down whenever thunder strikes, they make it to the quaint little house, the outside is beautifully decorated, even if it's hard to see in the pouring rain. Tish gives the umbrella to the shivering human to hold up while she unlocks the front door. Once she opens the door the duo gets hit with a homey warmth. Tish coaxes the human to follow inside. It takes a second before they eventually do. Tish closes the door behind the two of them and locks it.

She takes off her shoes and replaces them with comfy slippers. I do the same. She then looks in her shoe drawer and places a pair of pastel pink slippers near my feet telling me to try them to see how they fit. I try them, but they are a bit too small. The girl takes them back and replaces them with a different, bigger, purpley colored pair. I try that pair. It's a bit big, but I'll take it. She tries to take them off me to replace them with a pair that fits just right but I step aside. Not wanting to be more trouble than i already am. The girl scuffs, but gets up regardless. Not wanting to start a war over slippers… today atleast. She walks further into the house. Telling me to “make yourself at home!” with a big smile. I just stand awkwardly by the door. I look around her house, its beautifully decorated. Lots of pinks and blues and pastels all over the place. If i was in a better head space i would have loved to look and feel all the textures and details. She walks into what i can make out as a kitchen and puts a kettle with water onto the stove to boil it. She then walks back past me and into a room. She's in there for a few moments. I can hear her rummaging around. As she does so i go and shrink onto the floor by the door and huddle up into myself and cover my ears. Still clutching the bag tightly to my chest as i sob. The storm is still going strong outside. After what feels like forever the girl comes back out with some clothes. She looks around till she spots me hiding in a corner like a scared child. She comes up to me and lowers herself down onto my level. She tells me that everything will be alright and shows me what looks like pjs, they are big and comfy looking and says “I thought that you might need some clothes to sleep in, can't let you sleep in your brand new clothes. So i got you a pair of mine, my big brother got them for me a while back for some holiday. But they were a bit too big, so they have just been laying around in my closet collecting dust. You seem pretty tall though, lanky, but still tall. So they might fit you better than they do me” with a smile. I look at her again. *angel* is all I can think as the tears start rolling again.

She looks a bit panicked as she apologies. I wipe my tears away, trying to get her to stop panicking. After a minute she stops, we sit there for a brief moment before we are interrupted by a different kind of loud sound. My tummy is grumbling so loud I think she heard it too. I blush as I look away. She smiles and asks if I'm hungry. I try to decline but am once more betrayed by my own body as my stomach complains again. She asks when the last time I ate was “...like. A day or so..” I mumble. She looks panicked as she takes me by the shoulders and asks if I'm serious, I blush again as I look away guiltily. She looks upset now, no, determined. “You need to eat! Right now! What do you want?” she tells me. I don't respond for a while, really not wanting to cause her that much trouble. I just ask for a slice of bread. She looks offended at that. She tells me no, that i need a “proper meal” and asks me what i want again. Getting the feeling if i decline her again she will just make whatever, i simply respond “tomato soup…. Or pasta is fine too..” i say rather coily. She looks pleased at that. She stands back up and reaches out a hand to me, to help me up. I… hesitate.. for a moment, I look at her, then her hand. My hand shakes as it reaches up and finally gently takes hers. She helps me up from my hiding spot and smiles at me, then she rubs my hand and says “wow, your hand is freezing cold! you must be getting a chill!" She looks worried. I take my hand back from her. She looks like she's thinking for a moment before she comes up with an idea “how about, you go take a bath to warm yourself up and to wash up and i go work on that soup. Ok?” she asks me, still having the same caring smile on her face. I try to argue but I can tell that she probably won't listen to me. I just nod as I look to the floor, she claps her hands together, happy that I agreed so easily this time.

She goes to start the bath. As she does so I put my bag down onto the small couch table. The girl took the pjs with her into the bathroom, probably to put them down so i can put them on after my forced on bath. As she returns to her living room she catches me in the middle of a fight with one of my hair accessories. I'm trying to take it off but it's stuck and my hair is twisted around it in a weird way. She runs up to me and tells me to stop. She then tells me to sit down and that she can help. So I sat there, me on her couch and her in front of me, trying to de-tangle my hair. Mid hair puzzle she excuses herself a few times, once to finish making tea and once to turn off the tub's water to let it cool off a bit. Nearly 10 min later and I'm finally free from all the little nicknacks and some little branches that made it into my hair. Probably one of the times when I fell on my face. She combs my long hair through with her brush to try and see if there are any other little boobypins or anything stuck. After making sure everything is in order she gives me the good to go to use the bath. I nod.

I enter the small bathroom. It's decorated similarly to the rest of the house. I close and lock the door behind me. As I undress myself I get a good look at the pjs she gave me. They look like something..she.. My sister… would wear… I untie my bow. Unbutton my blouse and coat vest. I move the slippers away from the tub, so they don't get wet and undress the rest of my outfit.

40 minutes go by till I'm done with the bath and at the end of it. I feel slightly recharged. I put on the pjs the nice girl gave me, they were a bit big on me too, but that's the kind of clothes i liked to wear, so i dont complain. I put the slippers back on and leave the bathroom, as I do so I can smell the scent of my comfort food. *she actually made it..* I think in disbelief. I find her waiting for me on the couch as she is working on some kind of wooden thing. When she hears me approach she smiles at me only for her eyes to start filling with stars “wow! Look at you! You look so cute in that! I really nailed it with this pick, call me Jel cause im the new fashion icon!” she says and giggles at the last part. She gets up and takes a closer look at me. I step back in embarrassment. She just steps closer to me. She leaves me to explore the room, it smells of cheap cologne and spices with a hint of cinnamon and.. Soup? Huh ok then. I look around and see a lute in the corner. There's not much furniture around. I go sit on the bed. It's comfortable and soft. I lay down on it, looking up to the ceiling. That sure was one weird day huh. After a few moments I get back up. I say my good night to the nice girl and lock the door. I go back to the bed and slip under the covers. It's warm and comfortable. Even if it's not home. It beats sleeping in the pavilion…
