thinking about my shattered runes au if anyone cares to listen (horror-esque type au)
i havent really given a proper explanation abt it and its still not fully fleshed out but decently enough ig i just need more thought and worldbuilding
tv world is the main focus cuz, well, i love tenna and he started it. But i extended it to all dark worlds, not just tv world.
i think it would be based in a sort of pacifist no recruit route? since the darkners are alive, just stuck in their dark worlds bcs they were sealed (think like, their world is there, just sealed and lightners cant access it) and since theyre sealed dark worlds, they become all dark, not much light, and slowly falling apart as it gets colder and colder.
chapter dark world appearances
card kingdom is already dark judging by light sources in canon, but its darker here in my au ok. the whatever scarlet forest idk the name is and field of hopes and dreams is only lit by fireflies and any glowing thing, but its kinda like, moonlit night dark? and card castle is already dimly lit where theres light, but could be pitch black if not near light. Theres candles strewn about the castle, but they can only light up so much.
cyber fields, city, castle whatever is all only lit by signs and whatever glowing thing, and some darkners themselves emit light. the world itself does not give light and appear highly saturated, its like a night time city, where the light is from stuff all around. And the castle is lit up with all sorts of lights and screens, but not like how it was before. The acid lake emits that green glow so its considered light. Also the internet is down.
tv world is all dark, and kinda lonesome, but the darkners have moonglasses, which are sunglasses, but they brighten up your vision instead of dimming the light. it basically looks like the dark lonely version of when ur near the end of the chapter. its also cold as hell in there so bundling up is necessary bcs theres active snow unlike the other dark worlds that very slowly decrease in temperature over time
the church dark world/sanctuary or whatever is already dark... not much difference but it does get colder in lit up areas. (sorry for lack of noticeable differences on this one im not too creative)
as for the flower japan dark world or smthn, its night time, not sunset/sunrise. The moon is outttt, and its getting coldddd, which harms the flowers/any plants and may wither them so they are progressively getting weaker. The wind is strong. The platforms become more delicate.
in all worlds, the darkners are just trying their best to keep on going. Some darkners glow or have a form of light, so those are appreciated. Some darkeners have been actively harmed by the circumstances/environment. King is still locked up, but resents that most of his subjects are gone in the way that its like theyre discarded, like how he was, despite him being in the lonesome castle town.
chapter 1 darkners are relatively fine but without a ruler, not even lancer bcs hes with his fan club. They dont seem against it however.
Chapter 2 darkners tend to glow, but theyre weaker without the internet, and more so with their sealed fountain not helping their case. Queen feels lonely but also not, and weaker without internet and sealed fountain.
Chapter 3 Tenna survives but hes incredibly damaged, with a completely shattered screen/no face and arms falling off once in anwhile. Every darkners wears moonglasses so they can see properly, so without them, its near black all around unless theres a glowing darkner or something with light.
Chapter 4 jackenstein is also alive, maybe a little beat up but fine. Idk abt gerson, he probably chillin in his little fireplace study. Lotta glowing glass. (Once again at a dead end with this one)
chapter 5 the flowers are alive, just slowly withering and weakening. flowerys alive, just barely hanging on though. he probably coughing up flowers or something and being helped by the others. Its lit up by lanterns but its nothing like the beautiful sun they had. The plant based darkners are bundled up because theyre delicate and sensitive to the increasing coldness.
since the worlds are heavily unlit and cold, it wouldnt be difficult for creatures of darkness to be lurking.
the darkners just try to make do with what they have, and remain happy. Much like the monsters trapped in the underground trying to stay happy and peaceful in undertale.
its almost similar to a neutral undertale route in a way. The lightners leave but the darkners all stay behind.
