Kind of late, but I couldnāt go without making something for the anniversary of my favorite game!
You know, I didnāt think itād have such a huge impact on me when I first decided to spend ten bucks on it last new yearās (2014). I didnāt think Iād fall that hard in love with the story, the gameplay, and more so the characters. Definitely didnāt expect itād have such a great message I wholeheartedly agree withā my truest ideal put into a line as simple as,
āthe world ends with youā
It had that one character that left as huge as a mark on me as well. Of all the characters I would end up cherishing the most, it had to be that one motherfucker, in spite most of my knowledge about them beforehand was they were overrated and terrible. Yeah. Who knew Iād resonate with this fucker the most?
At the time of posting this, things arenāt going so neat for me right now, and Iām so confused and tired and anxious and hurt all at once.
But right now, Iām just. Also thankful that I ended up playing this game. Iām thankful for a game with a complex battle system that engaged me, but not such a hard one that I didnāt throw my Ipad at the wall and felt like a failure. Iām thankful for the story that I was pulled into, for the wonderful music that brings me home listening to it. For the little details that make it matter a little more, like the fact that clothing options are not restricted by the gender of the characters. Iām thankful for the message it has, the lessons it teaches.
Iām thankful for one more thing that my cousin and I bond over; sheās one of my only friends offline, really. Iām thankful for how relatable the characters problems and feelings are, and how much it means to a lot of players. Iām thankful for what it means to others, as something to help them cope with hardships (like me) or just something that taught them a valuable lesson or two.
Iām really thankful for a character that got me through tough times for everything he is, and everything he stands for. Even if heās a total douchebag.

Whether or not it gets a sequel, a prequel, another online versionā just another game in general, Iām thankful that it exists. Iād wait forever for another game (or if I could, make that game myself lmao) but Iām also fine with what we have now. Itās all okay.
ā āsorry not sorry if I sound gayer than a million Joshuas but I really couldnāt go without talking about my love for this game either.
