A mini thread of character portraits 🧵🪡

A little backstory:

About a couple weeks ago I had the strongest urge to practice with my markers since I’ve felt like at the time I was spending too much time glued to my iPad screen rotating between doomscrolling and drawing on my art program. I started out with practicing on the sketch of a character of mine that I haven’t drawn in a really long time.

This is Estella, if you’ve gone through my page before you may have spotted her once or twice.

After her I made another character that I haven’t drawn in a while (this is starting to become a theme lol),

I wanted to practice facial hair while at it so here is Ross a farmer, and then I drew a character who was an herbalist and happens to be Ross’s wife Lian .

I think they’re pretty neat.

Candlelight

Small piece I made based on a sketch of my Ocs Luna (older girl) and Angie (winged kid).

I took it as an opportunity to do some dramatic lighting practice about a month ago, seemingly the easiest part for me to figure out was the candle light it’s self and how far it extends but the harder part was how the background should be constructed and how much light would reflect off the pillars.

Overall I think I did pretty good but would like any tips for future improvement. (*^_^*)

This is Nick one of my ocs, I haven't shared much about him here but I had this drawing planned for him for quite awhile now.

Nick is mischievous and unserious guy who likes to cause trouble on occasion, but can surprisingly be nice on occasion.
