Bee Nguyen advocated and lobbied for the Pursuing Justice for Rape Victim Act, which allowed for thousands of untested rape kits to be tested and matched with DNA under the Combines DNA Index System.
Ravi Bhalla experienced bullying as a youth because of his Sikh faith. When running for the mayor's officer, he overcame these personal attacks against him and his faith.
Todd Gloria's early political career includes working as a constituent case work for Congresswoman Susan Davis for seven years.
Vanna Howard first worked as a bilingual legal secretary, translating documents from Kumai, a dialect of Indonesian, to English. In addition to her work as an elected official, Vanna sits on many non-profit boards and commissions that help the underserved and immigrant communities.
“I saw that our community and state were hurting and needed new voices, new leadership, new ideas and new innovations so I threw my hat into the ring” said Adrian Tam when he decided to run for public office.

Vanna Howard overcame adversities as a young immigrant from Cambodia. Her community service and public service work include focusing on improving equities in housing, education, childcare, and healthcare.
Todd Gloria grew up in the Clairemont neighborhood of San Diego. He is a graduate of Madison High School and the University of San Diego.
