crazy how this game manages to be so faithful to canon
I remember one time I got INSANELY high off of edibles while playing Among Us, and it quickly became apparent to the other players online. I forget how honestly but literally anything "sus" I did was ignored by everyone because I was so fucking high. I tested this theory by standing in front of a body and the person that actually reported it didn't even mention me. The funniest part was when I was trying to do wires, I kept fucking up over and over again, so I was just standing in front of wires for actual minutes trying to figure it out. A small crowd of players gathered around me to watch and would get mad every time someone reported a body or emergency meeting because "she's never going to get her tasks done if you keep interrupting them." I don't think anyone cared about winning at that point, they just wanted to see the high crew mate succeed in her tasks.
THIS IS 1000% ACCURATE LMFAO. Thank you op

It's insane that pants were named after a fictional character who wore pants
I relate this to a… WORRYING degree.
Some of the criticism of vol 2 is just so silly. I've seen some people genuinely confused as to why Max would not immediately run to her exit from Vecna's mind. I've seen at least two comments saying her speech to Holly was pointless, and I can only hope by some insane coincidence I just found the only two people in the world thinking that, because can you imagine if Max just saw her exit and ran there leaving that seven/nine-year-old behind? "Well, it's been fun, thanks a lot Holly. Bye." Genuinely, would that have been good? Or was Max supposed to be so clueless to think Holly could take her same exit? "Oh, no, Holly didn't make it through, I should have known! :("
(Also Holly's brief escape was actually necessary because at this point I really do believe at least a quarter of the audience would not have understood how the wormhole thing was set up, otherwise. It showed us pretty clearly how that's structured. Since I've also seen people wonder what was the point of Holly escaping only to get captured immediately after.)

for second i was thinking like "art block is such a weird concept. imagine if you just became randomly unable to do OTHER types of tasks" before remembering that i have executive dysfunction and frequently AM randomly unable to do other types of tasks. i got cleaning block. cooking block. taking a walk block.
When I criticize jk Rowling do not assume I always hated Harry Potter. I knitted hogwarts house scarves. I got my first binder to dress as Draco Malfoy for Halloween. I reread the books multiple times. I read probably every pottermore article there was at the time.
I’m not here to validate your smug feelings about not liking a children’s book series 20 years ago. I’m here to discourage others from spending money on it and to give myself and others words and space to work through some feelings. I’m a trans person that made Harry Potter one of my cornerstone interests. One of my favorite things. I’m not some cis person doing cope.
Harry Potter was a big thing. Like. Big in a way that’s difficult to fully understand. It still is. If you were caught up in it during your formative years it’s normal to need to process all of the horrid things now associated with it.
Having to burn down the house you grew up in is going to be hard even if it turns out that the house was always rotten from the inside out. Even if it turns out that the foundation was made of straw. But the destruction and deconstruction must happen if one hopes to move on and move forward. That’s why I talk about it at all.
Official script. Jonathan, can you do me a favor and get away from my girl Nancy?
This is why I just don't like Jonathan. If Nancy's investigation had actually led nowhere, he would never have realized he had been wrong. (And he would have been wrong even if Nance hadn't been right about the story.) Because the thing is, that wasn't the problem--he had known, when he followed Nancy, what the risks were. (And also knew that she had different priorities than him.) There was no guarantee it would pay off… That's why one investigates, because you don't know for sure. And of course, Nancy believed she was right (and she was, but she also really wanted to be, which is a tricky situation, and not really the point right now.), but he could have just given the keys to Nancy, and let her go on her own--except, of course, he couldn't: it's too dangerous. What kind of man lets his girlfriend go alone?, I imagine was his thought process, idk. So, what did he want, really? He wanted her to give up. To quit. (Or, well, be right?) And don't get me wrong, Nance has an exceptional instinct, and is very smart, but I think she should be allowed the leeway to be wrong, at least when picking a lead to follow--because noone is infallible, and being wrong about a hunch is very different that following it all the way to the wrong answer. So what if it had actually been just a stupid story? This is why I find it so frustrating when people act like he would be such a supportive lifelong partner to Nance, like there was such a thing as a more logical choice, and that was him. I really don't care if people love him, everyone has their blorbos and their ships, and it's great, but he's... not objectively amazing when it comes to her ambitions. I haven't read the latest book, but from what I've seen this very attitude of his even put Nancy in actual danger, there. She's a risk-taker, and I don't want to take away from what Jonathan HAS done, but he's just not, and he has limits with the risks he is willing to take. (Let's be honest, if it had been up to him, Will would still be flyed.) I don't even think it's a gender thing, he did basically the same thing to Steve after they crashed into the was, as if he hadn't been screaming "we did it!". (Also I find it significant how, in response to Steve's suggestion, he immediately goes: "you probably shouldn't be making the calls", because that's not what Steve had ever done? Not even with the peanut bopper gate situation? He had only shared his opinion with the group. But apparently to him that's "making the calls" to Jon?) Actually, there might be a bit of a gender thing there; because he clearly feels some obligation to follow nancy in her investigations, for whatever reason, and then lashes out when things go sideways because he didn't really want to go in the first place. I don't know if he would feel the same obligation with, say, Argyle; but the point is Nancy never actually forced him, he is the one who didn't want her to go alone. Which, ok, nice, but if you make the choice to go, however reluctantly, then commit, dammit! Otherwise it's just going to be stressful for Nancy, and holding her back. (Imagine having to do an investigation with a guy you know will blow up if the lead doesn't pay off?) In conclusion, idk. I don't think he has zero good qualities, but this aspect of his character is something that I find exhausting irl, and I don't wish it upon Nancy.
