The Magic Far Away Tree book series by Enid Blyton was the first time I ever enjoyed reading/listening to a novel. The final 10 minutes of class each day my Year 2 teacher would allow us to find somewhere comfortable in the room to relax and listen to the adventures read by our teacher. Reading time was a reward for working cooperatively and productively throughout the day. The stories were mystical and exciting with likeable characters exploring different lands above the treetop of the magic faraway tree.
