Amethyst is a Silicon Dioxide with traces of Iron. In other words and rather prosaically amethyst is a purple quartz. Amethyst belongs to the Quartz Group of Minerals.

What is the difference between Charging, Cleansing, and Activating your crystals?

Most people confuse the three, but if you are going to use crystal to heal it’s important to know the difference.

Cleansing: As crystals help you they absorb energies and it’s essential to cleanse the crystal before charging it.

Charging: After cleansing your crystal you need to replace the energy you just cleansed.

Activating: Even though crystals are always activated. Activating a crystal is simply putting intention on one or multiple attributes the crystal has.

Now that we know the difference between these steps. It’s crucial to realize that they are multiple methods to do each.

To cleanse:

Sunlight: (Be careful certain crystals fade in the son)

Moonlight: pretty safe if put on the window-seal

Water: (Be careful certain crystals dissolve or make the water toxic) To do this safely put some water in a bowl and your crystals to a smaller container in the water bowl.

Salt or Brown rice: (Certain crystals may scratch or be damage in salt be careful)

Sound: like a bell or chanting could work

Breathing: just like wind you can imagine all the energy stored being washed away with your breath

Intention: Sitting down and thinking of the crystal being cleansed is the most cost-effective method of cleansing.

Smoke: (could be dangerous around pets)

Charging:

Moonlight: pretty safe if put on the window-seal

Sunlight: (Be careful certain crystals fade in the son)

Other crystals: when placed on another charged crystal it can charge your drained crystal. The best crystal for this is selenite/satin spar, but any crystal will do

Intention: just like cleansing you can charge your crystals by putting positive energy into it

Activating

Intention: Once again your intention on what purpose you want the crystal to help you with.

Sound: ( For me this was surprising) Certain frequencies can help charge your crystals with certain energies to amplify their healing effects.
