I was inspired by @spookygibberish's nichtember idea and took it as an excuse to get back into doing water colours. I was too lazy to get my scanner out so the colours are a bit washed out by my phone camera.

I have a whole idea to write up entries in the style of a scholar and adventurer who is documenting these things as he explores Ila's dangerous and radioactive Bad Lands. I'll probably do that once I have a proper scan of these.

First up have a Autotroph, a large rocky fungus that feeds on uranium deposits underground and shares a symbiotic relationship with a algae which grows in a thick glassy pane across the top of it, converting sunlight to energy and exchanging nutrients with the fungal body

Secondly we have its Primary Consumer, a hamburger sized gregarious arthropod. During the wet season while the fungus is sporing they collect the fruiting bodies before they release their spores and stockpile them deep in the burrows they carve out in the body of the fungus. During lean times in the dry season they will feed on the algae mass that lives symbiotically with the fungus, it is nutritionally poor for them and if drought persists their over-consumption can lead to the death of the fungus and dispersal of the consumer.

Working names Astrolith for the fungus and Red Jeweled Harvester Beetle for the arthropod

Ba'Ramue and her mother Lady Ba

All Kobold names start with the name of their Dame or Sire and unlike the surface Kobolds of Ravnica, the inhabitants of the Sinkhole have remained a burrowing people with a Matriarchal lineage, so all kin share their mothers name.

Ba'Ramue is the last remaining member of Ba's first brood, and as such is in line to inherit her burrow in the future, this goes against her desires to be a worker for the rest of her life. She yearns for the mines and the humble ingot.

While Lady Ba is somewhat miffed to have lost all but one of her first brood, at least she still has one, the succession crisis would be a nightmare otherwise. She'll have time to whip Ramue into shape once the current threat that took out her other Eldest is dealt with.

The Dragons Tooth Kobolds are currently dealing with their main mine being overrun with demons and fire elementals, and having already lost many of their numbers to the fiends and the new threat of Mana Madness, they reached out to the Initiative for assistance.

Oliver Belwright made his second appearance on today's d&d stream. He owns a bookshop with repair services and he whittles wooden toys for children from poor families. Twice a week he runs a "Cube Poetry" club from the backroom of his shop, whatever that means.

He can be a little forgetful and ditzy but takes his work very seriously, book repair is an important archival service!

Top left, Svale, an Izzet engineer with a passion project for perfecting the hover board she designed. Sort of the defacto group head of these young ladies. She's desperately trying to get player character Diana Sterling to take a damn break and hang out with them all.

Top right, Jazlyn Dapplehoof, the younger sister of Dita Dapplehoof who lives in her house and eats all her cheese. She is a rollerderby master and a bit of a valley girl

Bottom left, Rook Bethor, local hot goth woman. A rare assimar, her parents gave up prestigious ranking in the Boros Legion to keep her safe. She looks like the girl thats way too cool for you, but is actually really chill

Bottom Right, her name might be Face-Biter but that might also just be a joke. A tabaxi of few words and a stone butch through and through. She became friends with the rest after The Incident.
